Pinot - you are an absolute star looking after the kittens so well. The photo of the one on your profile is gorgeous!

Update - fat ginger one is a boy and is feeding nicely. Also poo'ed on my boob - typical bloke, booby obsessed.
Original black & white one is a girl and is doing really well, though 25g smaller (125g rather than 150g) so a runt I think? Or certainly not fed.
Other black & white one is a girl and isn't feeding as well as I'd like, but has done an enormous poop so maybe she's making space.

No sign of Mum - I hope she's taking care of herself, poor love.

I'm enjoying this :)

I'll post pics of ginger and spotty when I get a sec

My beautiful boy is the result of my sisters 5-6 month old being a tart, she was the result of my cousins 5-6 mo being a floozy who was the result of a one night stand with someone elses 5-6 mo.............. honestly a great granny at 2 Hmm, mine is now well knackered spayed and is a right terror but lovely at the same time!

Kittens are divine, and when they grow up they look after themselves Grin, however be warned, one of my pusscats siblings didn't make it. There were some birth deformities which made it very difficult. I think this is quite common with young first time mums.

Congrats to be mummy to ickle kitties though, sounds like you are doing a fab job Grin.

My Salem is the result of a night of passion between a pair of 6 month old brother and sister cats. They were the result of a similar coupling. The former owners hadn't got a clue

I made sure that all the cats concerned, kittens, parents and grandparents were spayed and the CPL found them homes - well except for Salem, I kept him as he was the only totally black cat and truly gorgeous.

Unfortunately he prefers my DH to me Sad

Pinot, you're a star to take them all in. I'd be totally flustered and would probably overfeed/stress out the poor wee mites had I found them. So glad they're indoors and safe with you. :)

Our cat is seven weeks pregnant (caught her in flagrante in the middle of the road with nextdoor but one's enormous tabby Tom, the brazen harlot!) and I can't wait to see the kittens. I'm fully prepared to be a kitty midwife, I have latex gloves and sterile scissors at the ready should she not know what to do with the newborns, meantime DS is trying to think of names.

Awwwww nice one Pinot. Hope they all make it! Post pics of them all!

Back in november, right in the middle of the cold spell, a tiny young black cat crawled out of the rubbish where my parnter works. Heavy machinery had already gone over the rubbish, and was passing back over for a second time when she crawled out. He took her into his office, gave her a drink, and phoned the RSPCA. 7 weeks later she came to live with us and our aging moggie, a bit fatter, with a lot of stitches and minus a back leg.

She's now leaping about like a mad thing protecting us from the winged menace that are moths, regularly steals and kills my loo roll, chases cats three times the size of her out of the garden, and is generally a naughty, hilarious little thing. Grin

my cat used to bring in leaves for her kittens to practice their hunting skills on Hmm

CatPower, don't forget that there may be more than one father, so the kittens might not all look like the tabby tom or your cat. It must be exciting waiting to see exactly what colours/types turn up Envy

Always wanted lots a cat, me... Sad

Can't believe I'm following this thread like it's a soap opera. No, better than a soap opera, no depressing storylines! Hope OP comes back shortly with another update... I'm actually jealous, I want to hand rear a kitten!

I do hope that Mum will return, poor mite.

Pinot, you're doing a fantastic job and should be really proud of yourself. So many people would have just ignored the cat or worse. I hope karma rewards you handsomely. :)

If and when Mum returns I hope that in time you might be able to find her a home (or keep her!) - CP did have a scheme going whereby they were offering free neutering/spaying and even if they no longer do they may be willing to help under the circumstances... it's well worth asking as otherwise she will just get pregnant again very soon. If they can't help please come back to me and I'll do my best to find an organisation which can or to appeal for funds with my rescue friends to help with the cost. Likewise with finding Mum and/or kittens a homechecked, responsible home if needed.

Likewise, if the vet has charged you for the care so far provided/will charge you for care of the little family, please pm me and I'll try to appeal for help with your costs. We're all struggling to feed and care for our pets and children as well as help rescue cases where we can but I wouldn't like to think that you are paying for it all yourself and if I can help, even if only with a few pounds, I will.

How's the poorly one doing?

Ooh Marking my place for an update.

Val - I wonder what we would do without you - you have helped so many of us with our creatures. (quick hijack - was having a moment of wondering why we got our dog - she was a teenage puppy and was driving me demented. I was lucky enough to get some help with training her as I admit I was struggling, the advice I got was amazing and we now have a fully integrated part of the family who is much adored thanks to some kind words from Val and some good advice I got here so thank you so much, she is happier and we are happier which can only be a good thing Smile)

So how are the little munchkins this morning?

Morning MN's Team Kitty!

All OK and feeding well, ginger one has managed to gain 25g since weigh in yesterday but that's probably mostly food as he's a gutsy lil thing.

The manky foot is alot better - not as swollen, not so purple. I can even see little white hairs on the leg.

Original rejected one is super sweet and really seems to respond to my smell now - am completely in love. She's got me!

No sign at all of Mum. Neighbours agree she is a stray - poor love.

I'm going to upload piccies now :)
