As you were, I found the chai latte thread. It turns out that the 'latte' part of the name indicates that the milk has been frothed up by one of those steamer thingys before being added to the chai.

The only milky tea I will consider drinking is teh tarik, I'd like to see the staff at Starbucks trying to make one of those. Wink

TheCrackFox · 05/10/2010 12:04

Caboodle - do you have obese children, I feel that is the key.

She can probably fatten him up while she's in M&S buying panini (surely it should be one panino though?). Think of it as multi-tasking.

bethjeff · 05/10/2010 12:06

I'm in Scotland so in theory along with this Op... I'm better than the lot of you.

Yay me! Grin

Fluteyboots · 05/10/2010 12:06

OP have you tried singing Wind the Bobbin up?

Our valet swears by it for when little Tarquin drops his silver spoon.

Caboodle · 05/10/2010 12:07

TheCrackFox - shit - no. Chips for tea it is then.

Littlefish · 05/10/2010 12:07

OP - huge, vitriolic, namecalling, unpleasant rant

Mumsnet - polite discussion about tea.

Ha ha ha ha ha Grin

cakeywakey · 05/10/2010 12:10

What's this thread all about then? I can't read it properly because of my eyes being all screwed up Grin

Umm, me and the Mr work hard, I went to night school when he got in from work and the kids went to bed.

Clearly this dedication, and hard work have caused my kids to get fat,and my lovely car has just turned into a 4x4 I would never be able to park.

OP, Why am I vile, I could do without losing the money as its a part of my monthly budget, but the outcry is over people on joint income of £80,000 keeping it and a single/joint income of over £44,000 (with one person as the htb earner) losing it. It's a rather basic, simple way to means test that doesn't work.

Besom · 05/10/2010 12:11

I think OP probaby works for Starbucks.

Will we all be off asking for these chai latte thingies now?

ProfessorLaytonIsMyLoveSlave · 05/10/2010 12:11

Every year I get suckered into getting an eggnog latte or a gingerbread latte just as the Christmas season kicks off.

Every year I remember after the first mouthful that I don't actually like milky coffee.

This year my resolution is to remember this and just drink eggnog or eat gingerbread.

Valpollicella · 05/10/2010 12:13

If we're talking about tea, then can someone explain why Starbucks peppermint tea tastes like the water someone has used to wash their mouth out with after brushing their teeth? It's just

Is a chai latte just another name for a milky brew?

frakkinnakkered · 05/10/2010 12:15

I have never had Starbucks peppermint tea and now I will never feel tempted.

TBH I rarely feel tempted by Starbucks, mostly because there isn't one for approximately 5000km.
