Good morning girls xx

Morning me lovelies. This stupid machine is playing up, keeps only typing half the words and have to go back and put the other letters in, grrrrrrrrrrrrr. I have been really down physically for the last 4 days and have been going to bed by 8pm every night and still feel tired! Went to the kids carol service on Frid and just wanted to bawl my eyes out, churches always make me think of Matthew, and I just felt so sad it was there last carol service with the school, I shall miss it more than them I think! Am soooooooooooo behind, only just iced my cake this morning, got mince pies to make, my head just cannot concentrate on anything atm. In fact H is full of energy and is doing more than me! Still got this cold bug thing and just need a holiday, joke joke. Anyway I have missed you all, must make more effort to keep up.
pixi thank you so much for your card, very very sweet of you xxx

Pinkfrog.............loved the test with Dan!
Glad to hear Lewis is doing so well! xx

Hiya Trips. We all still have the flu bug...a lot better but still got it. Can hear Tom coughing now - waiting for his footsteps on the landing into the bathroom and then throwin up!!!!

xxxxx Good to see you Trips I have missed you xx

HarktheHarrogateMumissinging · 21/12/2008 11:35

Trips - dont make the mince pies - buy them and give yourself a break!! I have been to church this morning without the kids as the junior section is closed for the holidays - it was really nice to go on my own without all the worrying about what they are doing!

HarktheHarrogateMumissinging · 21/12/2008 11:36

and dingdong - good to see you back!

It's the twins' first birthday today! Can you believe that? It's been a whole year??

Well, I've survived a full year of being the mother of triplets and twins, so I neeed you ladies to tell me that it gets better from here on in! I don't caare if it's not true...

Pixi hugs to you darlin'.

Trips hugs to you too! Hope you feel better really soon! So sorry about your dh Have to say, I loved your conversation with that girl! Made me lol. Don't make the mince pies! Buy them, change the wrappers and say you made them if people ask ... and no, I have never ever done that before....

Shabs,Glad to hear you're a bit better! xx Lewis sounds gorgeous! How old is he? lol at your texting convo! I think I will be having conversations with my dt1 (4.7) when she's older... she's a very cheeky minx! For example:

I walked into the living room on Wednesday to discover the walls covered in black ink scribbles ... well, I could easily discern that all three of the trio had been vandalizing my walls, oh yes, I thought, that's why they were so quiet this morning.

Anyway, I cleaned up the walls, and was pretty calm when they got home from school.

DT1, MOMMY! YOU'VE WASHED OFF OUR DRAWINGS! WE SPENT AGES ON THOSE!

Me: Dt1, you know you don't draw on the walls.

DT1: Well, you put them on the walls anyway.

Estar, I'm sorry, but I laughed at your dts! You have to award their ingenuity in taking pieces of a cot and building them into a ladder

HM&Estar, I love doing that kind of thing with kids, it's such good fun! And you only ever get to do that kind of thinng once in a while so it makes it even better!

LG&T oooh how exciting! I don't think I congratulated you on your bump so... Congrats!

Dingdong! HAppy birthday to your dts!

See you all later!

xx

Happy.Happy First Birthday Twins!!! What a very special day.

My Grandson Lewis was born on the 6th June this year - our first grandchild. He is delicious. A very lucky boy with a Mum and Dad who love each other, and him! Two sets of grandparents and a set of Great grandparents. An auntie and an uncle (Our son Tom who is 11!) and a 3yr old cousin. With the added attraction of an Honorary Grandma - Grandma Triplets.

My DS was thrilled when Triplets asked if she could be Honorary Grandma and accepted immediately

Good night girls.

Just wanted to mention the beraved mummies thread. Remember about 9 months ago we set up Eris' thread for bereaved mummies? Wonderful friendships are being made and help, advice and love offered. Sometimes MN can go very weird and pear shaped but our thread marches (quietly) from day to day. Very, very sadly we have new mummies and aunties and grandmas every few weeks. It just restores my faith in human nature when one of us has a wobble and the others rally round. No idea why I am telling you all this just wanted to show off xxxx

ChristMarsSleighdy · 22/12/2008 01:21

I haven't abandoned you for anyone Momma. Just trying to do an assignment that was due Friday but because I'd been ill needs my attention.

When are you coming to London?

tkband3 · 22/12/2008 07:32

So, it's my birthday tomorrow. DH and I have been up half the night with the DTs who are both suffering from this virus - DT2 had temp of 40, DT1 coughing and spluttering. Both have been awake since 5am, as have we, and I didn't get to sleep till 1am. DH has a nasty cold as well.

So what do you think are the chances of me and DH getting out tomorrow night? Will have to see if they are any better tonight, but even if they are, I think both of us will be too knackered to enjoy what should be a once in a lifetime meal. Am v. fed up (and tired) .

Momma, would you mind posting your recipe for gf pastry again. I made some using your recipe a few months ago and froze half of it and used it to make sausage rolls last weekend, which were fab! But I've lost the recipe!

And if you're coming to London, don't forget I live just round the corner from Mars (well, not quite, but compared to Exeter it is ).

Mars, hope you're feeling better and you got that assignment done.

ChopsTheTurkey · 22/12/2008 08:59

hello everyone!

I keep getting caught all over mn, but I feel completely lost with this thread, I jsut cannot keep up any more!

How is everyone?

All is well in our household, and pretty much all set for christmas. Luckily I was prepared early cos then everyone got ill and I've been stuck in the house LOTS!

Painted the lounge over the weekend. Landlady said we could paint in neutral colours. I've painted it lilac and mulberry It didn't look that err...bright on the tin!! We'll jsut restore it back to magnolia before we move out, which won't be any time soon.

I passed my OU course, not as good has hoped, but now can relax a bit for the last course next year and will have to do with a 2.2.

The kids are driving me up the wall and its only 9am! Ds1 gets increasingly demanding and unpredictable. I'm waiting to hear if he will be awarded dla which would help out a lot. dd has started girls brigade, and is loving it. dt1(3) can now count to 30, say his alphabet and dliver a mnean right hook to anyone who p*sses him off! dt1 can now count to 3 and is a computer addict.

Now I really should be making chilli chutney for xmas. If the kids will stop wrestling and throwing things at each other for more than 5 mins...

ChopsTheTurkey · 22/12/2008 09:13

ooh it's nice to be back, trying to slowly read throughn and it's all so familiar. The pooing and weeing themselves, the mess at the dinner table, the cosntant dripping noses, the tantrums.

ravi is has the mother of all tantrums right now. Been going on for past half hour, he is now trashing his room. That'll be his entertainment for the day sorted - tidying up! It al;ls tarted because he had raided his advent calendar so didnt have a choc to open today. Calendars should be abolished so that grandparents cannot buy them!

Morning Rubester - Everybody except me is fast akip. Sat in the living room, curtains still closed, house a tip! You ok love?

ChristMarsSleighdy · 22/12/2008 11:08

So... my oven died!

I called the company, paid for the spare part and the call out/labour charge.

2 weeks later. NO PART! Called almost every day last week to remind them that my oven needed to be put to a great deal of use at the end of this week.

Lovely lady sending part out by DHL to arrive between 8 and 5 tomorrow.

No really... don't say thank goodness yet!

Call company that will be fitting said part. They won't be working on Wednesday. He gave me the latest appointment for tomorrow. Between 2 and 5.

So now it's a race. Who/What will get here first? The Engineer or the part?

Oh and the tree lights have gone missing! Please don't ask! Sigh...

ChristMarsSleighdy · 22/12/2008 11:11

Oh and I spent the best part of yesterday in A&E with DT2 who went one on one with a glass door!

He's fine. He'll have a lovely scar on his head and one on each arm. Glue, steri strips and huge plasters. The joys of a boy almost 5. Sigh...

DT1 was most put out that he didn't get a sticker or a lollipop!
