Pixi - Crikey hun, you are doing fab. Makes me feel very selfish as Thomas has turned into barnacle baby this past week and will not be left on his own. (I can't even go for a wee. Cue wailing) Which means Isaac is left longer as he is content, and then I feel like a bitch for ignoring him or getting the hump with him when he does whimper. Thomas has also developed a night time cough that wakes the house but all he want is plugging with a dummy and he drifts off again. It's not even a proper cough - just enough to wake him up and make him scream.
Went to baby club thingy today. Isaac slept and threw up and Thomas stuck to my leg.n I could have done that at home and not bothered dragging them out FFS. Happy days [rolls eyes]

estar · 12/07/2008 10:17

Merly, I know its a huge hassle, but I would stick with the baby club thing if I were you. I used to give it up every week, thinking 'what's the point?' but then when I made it a non-optional part of my week, I found that determination took over, I made us all get out of the house, the kids got used to it and took themselves off to play, learnt how to be really sociable, and after the initial awkwardness of the first few weeks, I made some good friends. And afterwards, you feel the satisfaction of actually doing something during the day, rather than attacking the bombsite housework all day, only for it to look no different at the end of the day!

MarsLady · 12/07/2008 10:23

Morning my gorgeous ones.

Sorry so many of you are feeling down. I wish I could wave a wand and make it all perfect...but you are strong women and with each other to lean all we'll all make it.

FG is missing you all.

Shabs... praying for that house honey

estar · 12/07/2008 10:24

Repetition of the word 'day' - apologies.

Forgot to tell you guys, I have started a blog! Not a MN one, because I want all my friends and family to see it, but if you're interested in hearing my daily ramblings, its at www.handsfull.blog.co.uk

I actually started it back in January, but then gave up because I thought it was less important than, say, feeding small children and keeping them dressed. But then I realised I love doing it, my mum some people have enjoyed reading it, and it actually helped me make sense of my day, so I'm indulging in it again.

TiggerLicious · 12/07/2008 11:35

Travel safe Shabby!

I've just been to the naming ceremony of a little girl whose birth I was at. It was lovely! Last weekend I was at a birthday BBQ for a little boy whose birth I was also at. Am loving this "let's invite the doula" stuff

MERLYPUSS · 12/07/2008 21:07

Wow Tigs. Bet you're dead chuffed.
I write poetry for kids but never had the balls to send it to publishers. One day, one day.
OMG - Isaac has learnt to roll. He was doing occasional belly to back jobs but now he can wizz round the front room. He's a danger on the changing mat and last night he kept flipping onto his belly and getting wedged against the bars of his cot and the couldn't work out how to back up.
Went out to shops and was accosted by all kinds of numpties today.
Numpty - Are they twins
Me - yep
Numpty - boy and girl ?
Me - Nope, both boys.
Numpty - Isn't she sweet. Are they different ages ?
Me - Yes, he's a month older than her.

What alot to catch up on after two days! Hi all...........well went to London on Thurs night with my brother, stayed in accomodation at St Thomass, great bargain, £35 a night, you stay in a flat which has three bedrooms, so obviously there might be other folk there, but we had two singles and there was a lovely lady also whose DH was having a by-pass, theres a shower room, 2 loos, sitting-room and small kitchen, they leave towels, toiletries, tea, coffee etc. We dumped our stuff, walked along the embankment to the Eye, took photos of Big Ben etc, then went to a fab noodle house right opposite the hospital, great food and a few Stellas all under £20 for the two of us! Anyway we were in the cardiac unit from 9-3pm, all went ok, consultant says he will be in asap. Got home at 6pm, grumpy husband and boys, ended up a stormy evening, I still had a bad back and a headache so went off to bed at 9pm with the kids. What a night......Gladys leaked twice, two lots of king size bedding stripped off of the bed, dumped in the bath with Dh t shirts, it was awful. Then at 7.45am just going to clear the bath so I could get in it, the phone rang. Childrens godmother who lives 2 doors away, very upset. At 11pm on Frid night, her Dh was asleep in bed after returning from deep sea, her door bell rang, it was a doctor on call asking for her. She said she had not called a doctor, he came in and said, that he had been asked to visit her urgently as she had had a blood test done that day and her blood count was 4.5! She was told to see her own gp urgently on Mon!! Harry was taken back in that time with a b/c of 5, told not to walk, and ended up with 4 units of blood 6 hours later. Anyway I went in to see her and she looked awful, then told me that the persistant cough she has had for 2 years and loads of antibiotics for ,they had x-rayed her and found an infection on her lung, and then she said she has lost 6lb in three weeks!! So............I just cannot believe all this is happening. Harry has had a rotten day, so washed out, eyes look awful, wont eat and to top it all when he went for the picc line to be flushed thru yesterday they couldnt draw any blood out of it so he may have to go for an x-ray to check it hasnt come out of place, he has chemo again next Thurs! I thin I am still sane! Becca and James are both on stage tomorrow at the big theatre in Canterbury, so looking forward to that, but am struggling to find someone to have Tom Tom as he wont come with us and I didn`t get him a ticket anyway!
TOH the trips pctures are amazing, what a wonderful keepsake.
*Tiggs, what excitement, very pleased and proud of you xxx
Shabs sorry for you your lovely hols is over, but oh have I missed you xxx
HM well done on he r/up, hope you are ok xx

Hiya Rubes.................sometimes I think I should not post, it all seems to be doom and gloom in my camp atm! I am ok, really, its been worse than this! I met a lovely old friend in the town this morning, her daughter was born three days after Matthew, we were the only two in the ward, Anna was born deaf bless her. Anyway I saw her and remembered it was Annas 29th birthday, and my friend got quite upset for Matthew. Then she said how well I was looking, told her briefly about Harry and she started crying, saying how unfair it all was, how do we cope etc. I felt awful because she was so upset. It cant stay like this forever, so I keep telling myself!

triplets · 12/07/2008 23:44

Goodnight everyone.........sweet dreams. xx
