30 . In less than 6 months I will be 40 [horror emoticon]!! Ruby, I'm getting DD1 a bike for her birthday - has yours got pink tassles on the handlebars?? And a dolly-carrier on the back? .

Momma, that dress is gorgeous! And we know how well a coast dress works at a wedding don't we? Didn't you try it on a while back?

Forgot to say earlier Shabby, sorry to hear Em's got PND, but glad it's been diagnosed so quickly. Hope she's on the mend very soon. Hope you are still having a fantastic time.

Ooogs, how did the acupuncture go?

oooggs · 02/07/2008 19:31

bloody hell I feel old

lovely dress momma

acupuncture - lots of needle in feet, shins, belly, forehead & wrists he put herbal things on three of them and set them alight I had to relax with my eyes closed and had a heat lamp over my belly. Had a fantastic face massage then over onto my side for 4 needles in my back and more heat lamp. Finally I have seeds stuck by plasters in my ear.

Shabby - hope Emma feels better soon

iamdingdong · 02/07/2008 19:43

lydle3 · 02/07/2008 20:21

Evening all,

Im glad I find you all well !!

Shabs, hope your haiving the most fab holiday !!!!!!

Momma i am also getting married in October (4th) Lovely dress btw, do what suits you, we are having a fairly medium ish wedding 65 guests etc but i do feel i wish i'd done the registry office, meal in the pub thing alot less grief/cash !!!!

Just had a row with sis ( glam travelling the world no kids sis) so i am here to vent and ask how things work in your homes . . .

DD1 sometimes takes food without asking in secret and eats it upstairs and hides wrappers, which i then find when tidying, cant really remeber when it started, but im pretty sure the reason is DD2 didnt eat anything until over 2 due to cancer was fed via tube, wouldnt have anything in her mouth, but when she would i let her anything . . . crisps for brekkie etc, desperate for her to eat. I explained DD1 no she couldnt have crisps for brekkie as me and her werent poorly we have toast, cereal etc.

I have done the softly, softly approach, also cross, no pudding, sweets for rest of week etc.

Anyway tonight found wrappers and was cross as one was some sweets my mum brought for DD2, came down after row, sis said i was unreasonable, that when we were young we could help ourselves from cupboard as long as we asked, but i said she is 11, no she isnt helping herself and anyway, she is allowed plenty, two things for brekkie if wanted, good pack lunched with goodies and tea then pudding and as much fruit as you want in the evening.

I thought this was the norm in most houses. Am i being mean ???? Do your kids help themselves or do you restrict what they have ??

I know the situation with DD2 isnt easy, never has been but i can not change it. I try to have sympathy but surely that doesnt invovle giving her a free rein at 11 ??

Honest answers appreciated

lydle3 · 02/07/2008 20:26

Btw this is the very short not much info story.

She isnt fat. I do realise it isnt normal, but not really sure what to do, i had thought she may grow out of it

Oh and i meant i am getting married in Oct Momma not you as well, before i start a rumour

MERLYPUSS · 02/07/2008 20:46

LYDLE - We weren't allowed to take food upstairs. Mum said we would get rats in the bedroom. Can you try that route?
TRIPS - Did you find anything useful on the other sites?
SHABBY - I heard the singing form here

Re birthdays. I'm keeping schtum.

MERLYPUSS · 02/07/2008 20:49

And you are not being unreasonable I think. Hard call but not unreasonable. Maybe DD1 thinks scoffing goodies on the quiet will make you give her attention (bad attention) as she wants to feel naughty in response to DD2 feeling ill ?
(sorry if this sounds crap - I know what I'm trying to say but it might come across as shitty ??)

MERLYPUSS · 02/07/2008 20:51

MOMMA - SIZE 10 !!!
ahh. once.

Timesofhope · 02/07/2008 21:43

I'm back!

Only just got the internet back now we are in the new apartment. Everything is pretty much in order and we are now getting ready to decorate the babies' room and get it sorted for the arrivals.

Time is certainly ticking by now, 25 weeks this week so only 9 weeks till my 'due date' of 34 weeks. I'm trying not to panic or think about the other triplet mum I met at one of my scans last month who had hers at 31 weeks! I would like to keep them in there till the 34 week mark, we'll just see if they have other plans! They are very active and like to all kick me at once! My partner is well chuffed that he can sit there and feel loads of movement now.

Hope everyone is doing well, I will try and keep you all updated from now to when they arrive!

Evening girls - had to come on to tell you the great news. Im pregnant we have been offered the first house we applied for with the council It is back to back with where we are now but further down the street nearer to the local park. My friend is contacting the council tomorrow to tell them that we are away until the 12th but that we want it.....we havent even looked around it LOL. We know it is a big terraced like ours and it has just been gutted and modernised in every room. OMG there is a god. Before we left for holiday I talked to Matt and Gareth and said 'please help us!!'

My head is spinning and we are so excited. Thanks to everyone who KNEW it would be ok....and to the mighty psychic frumpster who really KNEW it would be ok!!!

timesofhope - keep them cooking

ChopsTheDuck · 03/07/2008 08:25

brilliant news shabs

Lydle, I don't think you are being unreasonable, she shouldn't be helping herself to everything. Maybe though, you could increase the range of foods she is allowed to pick on though? Meet her halfway and provide crackers, cubes of cheese, raisins, nuts, whatever in a box which she can go in.

ChopsTheDuck · 03/07/2008 08:26

Wow, in the keys How beautiful.

I wish I was in the keys right now instead of sodding rainy berkshire!

oooggs · 03/07/2008 08:44
