29 weeks with twins. Had scan last Wednesday. Went perfect. Heartbeat great, size great ect. However I haven't had movement in a day and a half since yesterday. Going to ring midwife first thing tomorrow to get in for a check.

Somethings terribly wrong isn't it? This can't be normal.

OP posts:

Maternity care is 24/7. Please do not wait. Even if you feel movement again, please go and get checked after such a long period without so that
you have assurance both babies are well.

JustAMinutePleass · 06/11/2023 20:11

Go to A&E now. They can and will deliver 29 week old twins

Wildflower2022 · 06/11/2023 20:12

As everyone else has said - go now, as
soon as you can. They’ll have provision for out of hours emergency.

YoNoTengo · 06/11/2023 20:13

GO NOW.

"Have you tried the usual ice water, lying down, eating something sugary?"

It's too late for all of this. OP needs to go urgently.

Yes of course, I meant for some hopeful reassurance while waiting to be seen!

NoFaceNoName · 06/11/2023 20:13

I’m really hoping OP has gone quiet as she is in her way to the hospital. Everything crossed for you OP 🤞🏻

I had my first in Ireland and got scanned for fetal movement out of hours when I hadn't felt baby kick for over a day. All was fine, but I can't think why they wouldn't see you. They'd be especially careful with twins.

Justhereforaibu1 · 06/11/2023 20:15

I know the health service is shite but they will see you!!

It's 8 at night. The won't scan at this time. I'm in Ireland. I didn't really cop it until this evening that things had been quiet. I'm obviously really annoyed at myself

Where in Ireland are you? I gave birth in cumh and they most definitely do scan in the emergency section of the maternity unit. They have mobile scanners that the drs will use.

Clumsykitten · 06/11/2023 20:16

Oh dear @Ella31, you must be so worried. You absolutely must call your maternity emergency/triage/helpline number to go in to be assessed. Chances are there’s nothing wrong but if there is, it can’t wait until morning. They don’t need to scan you, they will check the heartbeats.

Clumsykitten · 06/11/2023 20:17

If there isn’t a number you can call, I agree, A&E now. Take care.

mollio · 06/11/2023 20:17

They absolutely will scan you in Ireland at any time of the night - get in them car right now and go . Please do . My son was 34 weeks and I had the same issue - had a C-section straight away . Do not wait until tomorrow . Every maternity unit in Ireland will see you no matter what time of the night it is . I promise you . Be very forceful and tell them .

lochmaree · 06/11/2023 20:17

hopefully you're on your way to the maternity triage, hope everything is ok

Showmethemoneyyy · 06/11/2023 20:17

Go to maternity assessment. GO NOW.

AgaMM · 06/11/2023 20:18

Having a quiet day doesn’t necessarily mean something is wrong. But if there is, you want to check them over now rather than tomorrow. So please call the midwife : hospital.

They generally don’t scan for reduced movement but monitor the heartbeat (could be different for twins) so it’s irrelevant that they don’t scan at 8pm. And they would scan in an emergency anyway.

gemloving · 06/11/2023 20:18

You don't need a scan, you need to be put on the monitor to make sure there is a heartbeat.

They absolutely will! I went in at 1am in County Donegal (I mean seriously our hospital had 3 beds in the labour ward it's not a very big place at all) and got checked and that was during Covid (late 2021). Please ring them, they might be stern on the phone but they should absolutely let you get checked!

UsernameUnknown444 · 06/11/2023 20:20

Just to echo previous comments - you definitely need to go to the hospital/maternity unit now. Don’t wait. They will put monitors on you at the very least. I was told to go in as soon as I felt any reduced movement - getting checked out really can make all the difference. I really hope all is well.

ThomasinaLivesHere · 06/11/2023 20:20

In your notes there will likely be a number to call for reduced movements. You need to go in now. I went in Friday evening and was put on monitor. Luckily all was ok but you never know. The advice where I am now is if you notice a reduction to go in right away and skip things like sugary juice

Busydayahead · 06/11/2023 20:20

Please go OP. X

SisterMichaelsHabit · 06/11/2023 20:20

The doctors can check you in the labour ward, you don't need to see a sonographer in antenatal at this time, you ring the labour ward. Please don't wait, it's your babies!

MysticalMegx · 06/11/2023 20:21

Good luck 🍀

Janey3090 · 06/11/2023 20:21

Please get to the hospital right away!!

Miss93 · 06/11/2023 20:22

Oh my god, go to your maternity hospital! Do you think women don't have babies at night?

OP you need to be seen asap. I hope everything is OK.
