No fetal movement in a day and a half

29 weeks with twins. Had scan last Wednesday. Went perfect. Heartbeat great, size great ect. However I haven't had movement in a day and a half since yesterday. Going to ring midwife first thing tomorrow to get in for a check.

Somethings terribly wrong isn't it? This can't be normal.

Is there a reason you aren't seeking help sooner?

If you haven’t had movement do you need to wait to call the midwife tomorrow? My unit says to call directly for this. Fingers crossed for you OP.

You need to call the triage this evening. They are a 24 hour service and you should be seen asap.

I think you should ring your maternity triage. Where I live I'd be asked to come straight in for monitoring (they put belts round tummy to listen to heartbeats). Good luck

I don't want to worry you but, assuming you would normally feel movement, you need to be seen tonight not wait until tomorrow

I would call triage at your local hospital this moment and go and make your way down there. Reduction in movements should never be ignored. Hope everything's ok x

Echoing all of above. The unit at the hospital is open 24hrs and will want you to be seen.

They'll never think it's a waste of time to be checked.

It's 8 at night. The won't scan at this time. I'm in Ireland. I didn't really cop it until this evening that things had been quiet. I'm obviously really annoyed at myself

Why are you waiting to call them tomorrow? Why aren't you calling them now???

Don't wait! You need to go straight to your hospital maternity unit. By the time I was checked, I hadn't felt movement for around 5 hours and one twin had already died.

There will absolutely be a provision for an emergency. This is a potential emergency.

How do you know they won’t scan? Someone will be able to help you. Women go into labour and babies are born past 8pm! Please don’t wait.

Of course they'll scan. It'll be a mobile ultrasound available on the unit 24/7.

You don't need a scan. You need to be put onto the monitor. I saved my baby's life at 32 weeks by going in to hospital because I hadn't felt movement.
You need to get to the hospital now.

Of course they will monitor you! It’s a maternity unit! They’re open 24/7!

They’re going to strap you to a foetal monitor, they’re not going to scan you. Ring and go in now!
