4 hours OMG that sounds like hard work. Tomster goes to wrestling club about 10 miles from our house - the worse bit of that is sitting with the other mums in a massive gym that stinks of eau d'boys

shabster · 06/03/2008 10:12

hiya chops the duck - I have eaten moose burgers when we were in America (before babies came along) they were good. pmsl at bambi reference - I reckon you are quite posh at yours I might go mad tonight and make me and the derkster a nice bit of tripe and some cowheel, its a Northern thing you know

I had to google to see what cowheel is and the first link that came up was all about...Bolton cuisine!!

I wouldn't say we are posh, I jsut love cooking, and nice food. We don't eat beef, so won't be tryng tripe! I have had black pudding though. Actually it made the kids very sick, so gawd knows what tripe would do to them. And these are children that happily eat escargot and rabbit!

ChopsTheDeer hasn't quite got the same ring has it though, I could be ChopsTheOstrich, cept the local ostrich farm still haven't opened their bloody shop!

I agree, it does sound like the americans eat babies. I hated american food actually, vile stuff.

I am not posh, I grew up in Yaaarmouf!

Mine are off there at Easter, they cannot wait. Inf act, dd packed her bags and tried to run off in the middle of the night to go there! My family still live there, so I go back regularly. It was rough, but I did lvoe it in the summer. Every spring once all the lights came on we used to go for a drive down the front.

I actually worked for a year on one those caravan parks too! Where do you go?

shabster · 06/03/2008 10:38

pmsl when I re-read my last message I thought - that sounds wrong but never mind - I meant before I HAD babies - you know in the far distant past when I had money in my pocket and bossoms that didnt move when you took your vest off.

tripe - bolton cuisine!!!!! that is great. My granster used to send me to the butchers for honeycombe tripe for her and she would put vinegar on it - yuk - that may explain my mental state now

ChopsTheDuck · 06/03/2008 10:41

You really are a Bolton lass through and through, it says the saem thing in that article! here

shabster · 06/03/2008 10:41

trips not been on since yest morn. Why don't you text her?

shabster · 06/03/2008 10:46

Awwwwww Chops the duck - Jack Morris is a great bloke. He has a shop right in the middle of the little town we live near. Its quite posh (for our area) and he has the white overalls and the stripey pinny on.

On the wall, in his shop, he advertises his apartments in Tenerife that are for rent. In his broad bolton accent he says things like 'just give us few quid t'pay deposit and thy can gite on aeroplane and be theeure in four hars' (that was hard to spell - but that is how he talks).

I grew up quite close to Manchester city centre but have lived in Bolton area for 26 years - its wonderful - rough as hell, and nobody has any cash BUT great folk.

Thanks for that link Chops it was great

ChopsTheDuck · 06/03/2008 10:47

A friend of mine lives near or on wild duck. I used to work at Haven seashore.

I LOVED Pleasurewood Hills as a child, used to go every summer. I might have to suggest that to my parents actually, for when I go up at Easter, I'd lvoe to take them. We used to do that and hte funfair at the seafront. Used to get our lunchtime fish and chips and sneak them on the monorail car ride, then chuck the papers when we went through the tunnel.

I miss the chip stalls on the market too. They did every kind of sauce imaginable. Their chips with gravy were heavenly.

shabster · 06/03/2008 10:48

ChopsTheDuck · 06/03/2008 11:00

bewilderwood looks brilliant! I wish that was nearer us. Have you been? It looks very physical. The kids would love it, but ds1 gets tired very quickly, not sure if he could cope with it or not.

ChopsTheDuck · 06/03/2008 11:02

sorry jsut read, you have been. Hmmm. I know ds1 would absolutely love it. I won't have a buggy there though if he gets tired.

dd is 7, ds1 is 5, but he has dyspraxia, and Hypermobility Syndrome, so he tends to dislocate limbs, fall over a lot, and get tired out.
