I adore real trees and have always gone real, even in my tiny first flat I would drag one up the road and squash it in. The first Christmas we had the DTs, we bought a fake one, figuring that it would be pulled over many times . Amazingly it didn't get pulled over at all!!! It looks fantastic but it is just staying a little while as I adore the ritual of hunting and gathering and dragging one home. And the smell mmmmmmmm.

Ours is up and decorated children-style , I will decorate it adult-style late one night before Christmas and add chocolate things so they don't notice I've moved all the baubles across the whole tree instead of just the one bit low down at the front.

Christmas smilies are coming this week MN says.........

LOVE the new thread name - it's just given me a sobering thought that this is the LAST christmas for a while that the DTs will be too young (4 months) to be "investigating" the delicate glass baubles that I have cherished for years... And we're not even having a tree this time because we are away over Christmas and I can't be bothered with the hassle! Actually, am really looking forward to them being old enough to enjoy it all, will they be next year?
