I hope you are not suggesting Triplets has another baby!!!

Hi Leo. Real candles on the tree????? Christmas in Switzerland sounds like a film! Heavenly!

estarofbethlehem · 16/12/2007 23:26

My friend from Finland was talking about real candles on her tree. I just can't imagaine....dts....urgh

So, I was bemoaning to DH, who was out shopping for my present last night, that there was no chocolate in the house.

He reminded me that we have 3 selection boxes in the cupboard (which, I hasten to add, I WON at the school bingo, ahem) that are going in the boys stockings on Christmas Eve.

I said I couldn't possibly do that and put the phone down.

Then I realised that the selection boxes were different sizes - one was bigger than the other two.

Then I realised that this would cause disruption, nay, distress, on Christmas morning.

Not only would this lead to arguments, but it would also lead to doubts and aspersions on the very character of Father Christmas and his notion of fairness.

What kind of mother would I be to allow such level of distress to small children on Christmas morning while at the same sullying the good name of Santa, when I could get rid of the offending item and simpy go to the shop and replace it with another of a smaller size?

So, here I am - ESTAR, THE SAVIOUR OF CHRISTMAS!

MarsyChristmas · 17/12/2007 00:38

You total star Estar. Imagine the sacrifices that we all make for our children. That has to be one of the biggest!

Pixi's DTs were born on the 30th. So you've a couple of weeks to go!

Nighty night!

nope, bored to death!

This week is really going to drag, I know it is. I'm going to curl up in bed, wake me up when it's the weekend please.

FrumpytheGrumpyreindeer · 17/12/2007 10:20

estar, that is the true spirit of Christmas girl!!!!

FrumpytheGrumpyreindeer · 17/12/2007 10:33

BTW Kelly, why are you so bored this week? Is your house not a roundaout of Christmas? Don't even tell me you are done and dusted and finished!!!! I won't be pleased. We don't do that here! Thats only for mums that don't have DTs!!!!

largevirginbirthandtonic · 17/12/2007 10:36

Im not here, currently cleaning the shit tip house. Must get on top of the washing too. Wish the baby would go to sleep.

Still have to post Xmas cards too!

FrumpytheGrumpyreindeer · 17/12/2007 10:39

I'm not here either. I'm drying my hair and christmas shopping.

(I so don't want to go. It will be vicious and savage out there!)

ChopsterRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 17/12/2007 10:48

I'm afraid I have finished!

I have a little more wrapping to do, but that will be done on fri then just leave the presents out ready for sat. I have done all the food shop apart from the bird, and the meals for the week are cooked and frozen. I have sorted out my college courses for the new year, paid the bills, and have nothing to do!

The week is dragging, because we are going on hol next week. I can't even pack cos the dkids still don't know!

ChopsterRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 17/12/2007 10:49

I had to fin xmas shopping last week - the boys preschool is shut now. Absolutely no way I am takign them anywhere NEAR a shop now.

FrumpytheGrumpyreindeer · 17/12/2007 11:07

OMG. I can't say anymore. I aspire to organisation of this kind.

Kelly, good for you woman!! I forgot you are having Christmas this weekend! How many sleeps?

Push me out the door please. Its getting late and thats going to be worse......

ChopsterRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 17/12/2007 11:12

5 sleeps!!!

I've decided there is no way I am gonna convince dd that sat is the 25th. She has been counting down on her advent calender religiously. I will jsut have to say that FC came early, then when she opens the tickets, all will be revealed!

Someone has to keep me company!

FrumpytheGrumpyreindeer · 17/12/2007 11:16

I must go darling. Here's your favourite Mr Snuffles, here's your blanket, here's a sausage roll, and a little bottle of Fruit Shoot. If anything bad happens just remember to say that mummy never normally leaves you on your own, its just because its Christmas ok?

You girls are all amazing and wonderful and tooooooooo kind. The tree really was more than enough, I really didn't expect anything else.

The tree is up and looking beautiful. It arrived in pink wrapping tape looking a bit like a body! and caused all sorts of speculation, although address label was a bit of a give away. I held out till DH got home so he could carry it upstairs, (after climbing onto the freezer in the garage to reach the stand).

When the DCs came down in the morning there was a tree in the living room, we all denied knowledge of where it came from so DS1 decided father Xmas brought it as "I asked him please can you bring me a tree". The next morning when they came down it had lights/decs on. DS1 has been going around telling everyone about his magic tree.

FG (I'm guessing by the postcode) and Momma thank you also for the presents, you really, really didn't need to. I am a bit and very .

It's crazy here, DCs still going through every bug known to childhood and I wonder when I can go out again or at least wander around the house with clothes not covered in snot/puke. Older DCs last day at nursery tomorrow and then I'm going to batten down the hatches and spray everyone with germ killer before letting them in to try and shift these colds. My brother is back in hospital, his back has gone again (arthritis) so again with the back brace and trying to get his pain under control and my mum has come down with the flu.

On DHs job front his previous company have offered him a 6mth contract starting end Jan. Means he would have 15min journey from here so would save a fortune on travel and get about the same if not more money. I've told him to take the job, save like mad and clear off all debts and he can move down to be with us in the summer. It's not ideal but seems like a good solution to the problems we're having.

Ok time off was too good to be true and DT1 needs me again. I'll be back when I get another free 5 mins. No time to proof read so hope I've made sense.

And thank you, thank you, thank you.

ChopsterRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 17/12/2007 11:54

that is brilliant piximon, jsut hope that the bugs all clear up in time for christmas.

Evening all!!! I haven't caught up on the thread so I hope that you are all well.

Busy, busy, busy in the Tigger household. Mr Tigger is his usual bah humbug self, Mrs Tigger is so excited she might actually be sick and the cubs are full of Xmas snot and are going to miss their first school nativity play

Aren't you glad its Xmas?!!!!!

Oh..oh....oh...Momma isn't it cold here? I think it might snow!!!! Get your sledge (or metal tea tray) and I'll meet you at the top of Roly Poly hill

I LLLLOOOOOOOOVVVVVVVVVVVEEEEEEEEEE XMAS!!!!!

MarsyChristmas · 17/12/2007 18:26

Have to visit a client tonight (to talk bfing). Then have a class social for DD2 - she'll be in bed it's a parent's thing and I can't even duck out as it's at the pub at the bottom of my road. Then a salsa christmas party. It's a non-stop whirl!

Good about the job Pixi, shame about the fact you'll be apart!

piximon · 17/12/2007 18:30

Postman has been. Thank you so much Chops, I was as excited about getting a hand written note as about everything else , hardly anyone seems to write by post any more.

My dad popped over briefly this afternoon. His pearl of wisdom "gosh you must be finding it hard while they're ill, right better be off"

FG if you are still doing your Xmas shopping I've been told Amazon are having a huge toy sale. I'm deliberately not looking but some offers are fab apparently.

FrumpytheGrumpyreindeer · 17/12/2007 18:37

for Pixi. It might have been me..........it might have been Santa Claus.......it might have been Gabby Logan. And I didn't say, the unnamed white/silvery box is for family nibbling sharing.

I love the story about your DS and the tree. How fantastic is that!!!!

FrumpytheGrumpyreindeer · 17/12/2007 18:40

Hi Em, long time no tippy tap. What a shame about the nativity, is it tomorrow?

How's things otherwise? Christmas coming together?
