Ah yes have given up cheese as well (well I couldn't eat any nice cheese anyway...).

I did have some orange juice yesterday and got a headache within about 20 mins. Did not realise it was a culprit. I don't get full on migraines, and have never had these headaches when not pg, but I really feel like I have to lie down in the dark when one comes along. They have been a lot better since I stopped eating industrial amounts of choc each day and gave up my lovely morning cup of tea .

TripleyXmasTippleTigger · 12/12/2007 14:49

My mum swears that dark chocolate is better for you if you want to be a bit naughty but I wouldn't know as I hate dark choccy..YUCK!!!!
And i forgot some people have to avoid fried foods too,or limit the amount.
have you tried those new cool pads to put on your forehaed? Or the old fashioned way a wet flannel? Can be very good.

estarofbethlehem · 12/12/2007 18:35

Oh dear. Sainsbury's delivery man just came in the middle of Levi's feed and he is not happy. I've just thrown everything into cupboards, fridge and freezer. Will have to rearrange later

Was supposed to be doing something important online today and so of course I got distracted instead and ended looking at the original 'D'y ever wonder...' threads.

Thought this direct quote from Mars would amuse you all -

"I live my life really slowly. That helps. Too many people around me are forever rushing around."

jingleoooggs · 12/12/2007 20:11

pixi - sorry about your facial

I can't remember anything else - and I am sure you lovely ladies are well aware how hard it is to have two poorly babies, whom you can't comfort at the same time, especially at night, it is hard work and heart breaking - and mums of singletons have no idea.

sympathy post over

FrumpytheGrumpyreindeer · 12/12/2007 20:49

estar.......there is only one word I can think of. Classic!!

pixi, that is crap!

Ooogs, yes, two sick babies is not fun. You just go from babe to babe with cuddles and medicine like Florence Nightingale. So, so hard and leaves you WHACKED.

Throck! I kept your seat

Double......nappy rash, right. It does sound like it. My DD1 took a really bad case of it when she was around 9months. She cut 4 front teeth at the same time

Does your DD also have an upset tummy?

It can get very bad, very quickly so my advice would be to work at it hard to prevent the skin breaking. Your DD needs something for the pain if its nasty, Calpol in the day and Medised if it disturbs her night. As much free nappy time as possible. And I swear by Metanium. You'll get it at the chemist or some supermarkets. Its thick and yellow like wet chalk. You put a tiny tiny bit on your finger, dot it all over the rash and pat with about 3 fingers to spread. You should end up with a bottom that looks like it has been dusted with yellow chalk. You don't apply it like a barrier cream. It needs to be thin.

When you bathe her, don't try to rub hard to clean it all off. It will stick on to any bits of skin that are broken or really rashy and protect them. Fresh metanium after every bath and after every poo (keep her bottom clean from poo so that if the skin does break, infection can't get in).

It could hurt when she first is lowered into the bath but once she's in it might soothe it a little.

Migraines.....my DP used to suffer bad ones. He would lose vision, vomit, writhe about in bed in agony feeling like his head was being squashed. He/we worked out that no particular food or drink did it to him but that 3 regular meals (we never ate breakfast pre-children), lots of water and regular sleep made a huge difference. When he was working on a deal he sometimes had to work right through for a couple of days at a time in a pressured environment. Following that he would sometimes take what they call "weekend migraines" where one hits just as the pressure comes off. He took a bad one the day after I had the DTs Now, we seem to be able to control them by meals, sleep and water. He still eats chocolate, cheese, wine etc. But I also think they vary enormously from person to person. Have you seen a doctor? DP takes Migraleve when its mild but has a single prescribed tablet to take if a bad one hits. It really lessens the effect of the migraine if he can get that into his system before it hits meltdown.

Dr Frumpy signing off

I had the DTs christmas nativity today. It was adorable!! Shame that nursery put them at opposite sides of the room though and DT2 round a bend so I could only (discreetly) film DT1 I kept craning my neck to glimpse DT2 but I felt I was pissing everyone off. Wanted to get up and say "I've got TWINS FFS".

Then I rushed about doing christmas shopping, came home feeling faint and had dreadful stomach pains before realising it was 3pm and I hadn't eaten or drank a thing the whole day through and I'd been up and very active since 6.20am. Still feel a bit rough so I am off to make sense of my life the kitchen and try to get to bed early.

I say this regularly and I fail regularly.

Kelly, HM, hullo! (HM, I'd do stingos and get fish suppers )

Ooops, sorry Momma, didn't mean to rain on your parade! Your offerings are homecooked. Mine are merely packet-opened.

FrumpytheGrumpyreindeer · 12/12/2007 21:17

Momma, she ain't talking to us!

TripleyXmasTippleTigger · 12/12/2007 21:18

FG...ahem....cool pads are gel filled pads that you place on your forehead and stay cool to help with the pain(like a posh ice pack that you don't have to keep filling) there are special ones out that are for migraines.

I have to take tablets every day to stop them as I was getting about three a week. I haven't had one for a while now but I know the day before because my vision goes all funny and the light affects my eyes,so as soon as it happens I start whacking back the painkillers to ward it off.

ChopsterRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 12/12/2007 21:19

I can't talk with my mouth full!

dp is watching fecking football

ChopsterRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 12/12/2007 21:19

TripleyXmasTippleTigger · 12/12/2007 21:21

ChopsterRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 12/12/2007 21:23

Triplets collapses on chair, thru sheer exhaustion and sad lack of drink and choc covered nuts.....................
miss a couple of nights and it takes me 10 mins to catch up on you all! Out last night to a friends for a natter and whine and wine! Everyone grumpy here, isnt it supposed to be the season to be jolly????? Been baking mince pies and homemade rum butter as pressies, got 200 fairy cakes to make for school for Frid, looking after 2 yr old tomorrow and going to finish off Christmas shopping in Canterbury on Frid, when will the cakes get baked? Just made myself sad, sat and watched one of the videos of a concert Matthews friends put on for him in 95, panning round the church, getting shots of people who are no longer here, inc my Dad, all Matthews friends who were anything from 4-16, now all grown up, sad music and lots of tears. Why do I do it to myself? Anyway, went to the ENT clinic today re the tinntus, Dr Chandra said I looked amazing, and said the tinnitus will go when the stress goes........ Lovely frosty morning here today, everything looked so pretty, even got a cheeky smile from a lad up on some scaffolding! Thought to myself , if you knew I was 55 with 9 yr old triplets you wouldnt be smiling, followed by the thought that I`ve got knickers probably older than him!f

Isawthreetripscomesailingby · 12/12/2007 22:26

why didn`y I get a Christmas hat on mine, I put the f in front, so to speak!

MarsyChristmas · 12/12/2007 23:14

I'm here. Had to visit 3 clients today. The 2 that gave birth last week and 1 antenatal visit (all about breastfeeding).

Passed both my OU courses. So onwards and upwards

Isawthreetripscomesailingby · 12/12/2007 23:36

Well done MARSY, how do you find the time? Puts me to shame
