DH's brother lives in Germany. Was in the army stationed in Paderborn...married a wonderful German lady and they had a son. Years down the line he left the army, became German citizen and divorced his truly lovely Missus!!!!

He used to bring us pies from the Naffi to make us feel at home Hmm myself, personally, used to live on large bottles of Gin and some cigs with my lovely, lovely SIL X She was and always will be my most favourite SIL x

Its strange isnt it that you don't really think of Germany as a holiday destination, why is that dy think?

MultipleMama · 12/07/2013 00:50

Trips - I got pregnant at 17, I had to grow up fast, my father gave me speech basically; it's time to grow up to make a future for my kid because he won't do it for me. I don't think I missed out on anything.

DH was open from the start and I knew beforehand as I went to school with his brother. I was raised to open and honest, sometimes I share too much and get myself in bother but I'm proud of my family Smile. I sound like I cope but really I'm a panicky mess while calm on the outside. This year I've been really stressed and overwhelmed. Motherhood is not easy job!

I feel much older than 23!

Shabs - That made me smile! Hope you're practing swinging those tassles! ROFL.

Trips - See I prefer quality rather than size Grin

triplets · 12/07/2013 00:59

Will you be living near to dh family, it will be nice to have their support. Do your dcs know them? Golly Mama I am in awe of you, do the dcs realize they are moving? I would think the schools in Germany will be excellent.

MultipleMama · 12/07/2013 00:59

This thread is wild tonight from sausages and tassles, you don't know what's next! Best thing I did was joining this thread. You girls never fail to make me laugh!

Shabs - My SIL cracks me up. I get on well with her. She's like Olive from On The Buses!

Now you are confusing me Mama, your eldest is 6? It will be quite hard then to move and start in a new school, do they begin school earlier on the Continent? Sorry Mama my brain is fuddled tonight, must be the Wine and must go to sleep, school tomorrow!! Kale Nits everyone xx

shabbatheGreek · 12/07/2013 01:09

We're about an hour away from his parents. They're very excited to meet the twins (only seen them on skype). Will be nice to have them around! They know they're moving to "Vava's country" but it broke my heart when he asked if his Grandpa was coming too.

I want to move but I hate organising things and DH is too busy working so I'm stressed already and freaking out. But urgh, I'm trying I guess.

MultipleMama · 12/07/2013 01:21

My oldest is 4 turning 5 in September, he attends nursery but I've been around Dh too long and call it preschool. FIS has a Pre primary and Grade 1 (which we hope he's accepted into). Bloody confusing stuff German schools. Apparently most schools there don't start while 6!

Kale nits, Trips! Think I'll turn in too twins will be up soon!

Chopstheduck · 12/07/2013 07:30

The thread certainly is lively atm! Sadly I was awol yesterday evening, since I was out pole dancing! Grin

I dunno why Germany isn't always considered a holiday destination, it's such a beautiful country. I think keycamps only did something like two sites in the whole country. I def want to go back, and especially go to Berlin and Munich. I like the sausages too! We do them at home sometimes, either as hot dogs or with sauerkraut, mash and ale gravy. From my experience they do foreign food pretty well too, we had a fab mexican in Karlsruhe once!

5 bed villa sounds lovely, does that mean there will be room for guests? WinkGrin

shabbatheGreek · 12/07/2013 07:53

Morning girls xx

Been up over an hour - Its bin collection morning and I think the dustbinmen have a motto 'If we are up = you are up!!' Little gits have collected everything and now its all gone quiet outside!!

MultipleMama · 12/07/2013 07:56

Sadly no, Chops, it'll be the nursery for the twins. We've seen a few 4 bed ones with spacious rooms but figuring out who shares what. I hate this side of moving! DH however loves it because he can make lists and use this new budget software he has!

Ordered some more of the polar bear walllpaper so we can decorate, again!

Morning, ladies!

Chopstheduck · 12/07/2013 09:28

:( lucky twins!

Our bin men don't usually come til a bit later, but their favourite trick is to dump bins in the middle of the drive, so you have to pull over and move them before you can even park! Gits!

MultipleMama · 12/07/2013 12:03

Chops - our bin men do the same thing, it frustrates DH haha.

Booked us in to see a few properties on 15th August so we'll be staying at his parents for 2 weeks. DH has us booked in for everything else. So by end of August we should have everything important sorted.

MultipleMama · 12/07/2013 12:23

Ah! Exciting news; after emailing and talking on phone with FIS they've said that we can send in K and A's admission forms in January to see if they'll be accepted in for August '14 term. K would start Primary and A would be First Steps. Now to find a back up school!!!

Chopstheduck · 12/07/2013 14:12

wow, fab! You certainly aren't wasting any time!

MultipleMama · 12/07/2013 15:09

If I waited, DH would be on my case and driving me crazy with lists, and I want to be able to relax during the last couple months of pregnancy. Haha.

Unsure still whether to send K to school in September and take him out when we move, or just keep him out until August next year. DH thinks we should send him to school; "no point taking him out when he could still be learning."

How is everyone, today? Enjoying the weather?

triplets · 12/07/2013 22:52

triplets · 13/07/2013 08:21

Ha ha there you are :o
Sat here searching and searching for a holiday, you cant believe how hard it is. Even the local agent couldnt come up with anything y/day, room to sleep 5 is the problem. Tried getting a package, they were offering things like 2 weeks in a 1 bedroom apt in Turkey for over £5000! So fed up of selfcatering in UK! Any ideas?
