Yay trips! So glad you got away, even if the weather hasn't been great (fwiw it's been raining here since Tuesday too)

Gladys??

Mm - haven't had breakfast yet! Am planning it as brunch now.

Still have a poorly Jennifer. Only drs appt I could get is 4pm. They wouldn't even let her be seen at my earlier appt. so I've decided to ask my gp anyway, and if it means I have to remake my own appt , well Jen is my priority right now. Her temp went down to 93f last night and is now 101 again this morning. No wonder she's being a cling on as I can only imagine that's making her feel wretched.

shabbatheGreek · 30/05/2013 10:15

So glad you managed to get away Trips - Grin @ the return of 'Gladys' ....... and YES Trips she was as nissed as a pewt!!!

Glad you managed to get away, Trips even if the weather is somewhat miserable!

Sok - I would have stayed in bed but dd was stood at her baby gate crying apparently she had another nightmare.

I hope Jen gets better, and it's ridiculous that they wouldn't give you an emergency appointment especially if she has a fever. She's luckily to have a concerned mama like you.

MultipleMama · 30/05/2013 15:43

Question ladies.

What do you think of this wallpaper as a feature wall for the new nursery? The walls will be a pale green and the furniture white.

Or

This wallpaper? Walls would be a light brown with white furniture.

Sokmonsta · 31/05/2013 02:08

I like both

shabbatheGreek · 31/05/2013 05:41

Morning girls xx

I like the bears Mama!!

DH has the most horrendous cough - Doc says its his asthma but I just gave up on trying to sleep - he has coughed every few minutes since about 1am.

Chopstheduck · 31/05/2013 07:21

IT"S FRIDAAAAYYYYYY!!!

And the sun is on it's way Grin I need to emigrate, I feel so much better when the sun comes out.

How is Jennifer, soks?

Blimey Shabs, that was an early start - I think you were up before me!

I'm looking forward to the weekend, should be able to get some bbqs in, and tomorrow I'm taking dd to the AllStarz party in Reading, and to meet Amelia Lily. It will be a nice birthday treat for her, prob get food out somewhere - she will be 13 in a fortnight - I will be a mum to a teenager Shock

MultipleMama · 31/05/2013 08:43

I love the polar bears and DH loves the raining one. We've bought samples of each and have them stuck on the wall. I love the idea of green walls, I'll try the rainy and green together.

I have the hospital today for my eyes, luckily it's Friday and kids are with their GP, so my cousin is coming with me as I have to put with blurry vision. Wonderful.

Hoping everyone enjoys the weekend, and that Jen gets better! x

MultipleMama · 31/05/2013 14:36

I have scarring on my eyes from possible tramua but nothing serious.

Sokmonsta · 31/05/2013 16:31

Jen still poorly bun bun Hmm 3 hours waiting her to wee so I could take a sample in. I plied her with water and milk, and tickled her in those 3 very long hours. Surgery not phoned so doesn't look like their initial dip test showed anything.

MultipleMama · 31/05/2013 17:21

Aww give her massive hugs from me. I really hope she gets better, little one deserves to be well and enjoying the sunshine not ill :(

I can't seem to cuddle my two today, DF just dropped them and they're off crawling in the garden.. heading straight for the dirt. Lovely.

According to DF DD had a night terror during an unexpected nap, and she's totally quiet so DF has offered to spend calm time with her upstairs until DH gets in.

DS just keeps wanting to look at my bump - he even wanted to paint on it for babies, it was funny but maybe I'll let him when the bump is bigger lol

Everyone, enjoy their day?

Sokmonsta · 31/05/2013 20:59

Massive hugs given. Jen settled to bed reasonably well. Just long enough for me to eat my tea. Brought her back down and wrapped her in a blanket for snuggles as she was so chilly. Eventually got Jennifer back to sleep and in her cot but can't find the bloody thermometer. I know she's ill. All I don't know is whether to call ooh tomorrow as Monday is a long way away right now. Oh heck this parenting lark is so hard.

MultipleMama · 31/05/2013 21:30

Have you tried the NHS helpline, sok?

DS1 had a fever when he was about a year old, and the doctor put it down to teething (he was late teething) but I took him to the A&E and refused to leave unless he was seen, turns out he has ear infections in both ears, again and one had to have ear tubes in both.

If you can, get up to A&E and cause a fuss if they won't get you in on an emergency appointment on Monday.

Just heard dts1 waking... and so it begins.

triplets · 31/05/2013 23:54

I cannot tell you how relieved I am to be home, not cos I wasn`t enjoying the IOW, but today was sooooo scary and stressful. For the last 2 days dh has not been right, washed out and really struggling to eat. The drive home from Portsmouth was a nightmare, took us 5 hours instead of 3, bloody M25! Halfway we stopped for a late lunch and when dh got out of the car his shirt was red with blood. I assumed the bag had leaked, but no, blood was coming out of the scar, very quickly. We were in such a state, place was packed as he tried to get to the toilets. He was nearly 30 mins in there, I had to send the boys in to find him, I had visions of him lying on the floor. He managed to clean himself up and had to fix a second bag over the new site. I phoned the hospital for advice and they are sending a nurse out tomorrow morning. H also got a phone call y/dy from the consultant with the ct result they did on Mon. He is happy that the actual surgery to repair the hernia is still ok, but the blood clot that has been draining for 5 weeks is still very large. He said he was worried because it showed part of it is solid and that could cause severe infection. He wants him to go to the hosp next Tues to see him and he is going to put him on long term low dose antibiotics. It just seems to go on and on, I really feel so sorry for him. Sorry to hear Jennifer is poorly, hope tomorrow finds our patients feeling better! My dd is furious with me, I have somehow managed to leave a drawer full of her clothes in he apartment we rented, God knows how but there you go! Her beloved Bring me the Horizon t shirt amongst it.........she packs her own next time! Oh its nice to be back here amongst my friends........... xx

shabbatheGreek · 01/06/2013 07:43

Morning girls xx

Oh my Gawd Trips - I bet you were worried sick.

Glad you had a good break though - just wish DH's health was better.

xxxxxxx

Morning ladies.

Trips She likes Bring Me The Horizon? Oh dear Lord haha. I lived in the same hometown as the lead singer, Oli. Lovely guy bit of a twat ;)

Let's hope these antibiotics are gunna work, so DH can get better. Glad you still managed to have a nice break.

triplets · 01/06/2013 16:56

Just back from spending 4 hours with dh in A&E, he now has cellulitis! Next??

bubby64 · 01/06/2013 17:01

Hi All, Trips, glad you got away, but what a scare on the way home! Have they not suggested a surgical evacuation of the wound? Depending on the depth, it may be able to do it under a local.
Soks- sorry about Jen, I agree with Shabs, you can take her to the A+E if she gets worse, I also did this with James when he was small, our GP kept saying he would be ok, and he just didn't improve, I decided to go with my mothers intuition that things really werent right and went to A+E, and they found he had such bad ear infections they kept him in for a night on iv antibiotics!
Chops - sunshine here too, has been a lovely couple of days.
My news - I started back at work Thursday, I am doing 1/2 days 3 times a week to start, then gradually increasing up to normal hours. I had a quiet morning, except for the 367 emails in my inbox! Why do people still send you mail, even tjough they know you are away, and even have a out of office message saying you will be away for an extended period.
Also, James had his pre-op assessment yesterday, and has his op on Tuesday. just as i start back , Typical!! J is gutted, as his 1st karate grading was meant to be Friday, and R is taking 1/2 day off on Wed and Thurs so we can cover the need for him to be with an adult for the 48hrs post-op.
Also, finally got the Catalina back, so we can fulfil the wedding and prom bookings, phew!!

bubby64 · 01/06/2013 17:13

Oh, and forgot to say, those of you who here 18 months ago may remember I was upset as my friend and neighbour was moving 200 miles away, she didn't want to go, but as her partner did, she reluctantly moved. Well, she rang me last night, she and the kids hated it so much, she has persuaded partner to move back, she is moving to a village only 4 miles away in 6 weeks time! Mike is also over the moon as he and her daughter used to be best friends, and she will be going to his school. Her 10yr old twins are also happy as they will be going back to their old school.

triplets · 01/06/2013 22:49

Hi............am having a really bad time. Just snapped at dh which was unfair. I was half asleep on the sofa and he shouted me to help him, he was standing outside the loo with blood all over his shirt and the floor. He told me to clear it up, so I grabbed some baby wipes and as I was wiping it he bawled at me to go and get him another "bag". I just lost it and said I had only one pair of bloody hands. He then stormed off upstairs just as the boys and their friend were coming down, so they saw everything. He eventually came down and said another hole has opened up, that's three. What the hell is going on? The hospital at home nurse will be here at 8am........thank God.
Tomorrow is the 2nd June, hate hate hate that date. 19 years since I last saw my beautiful boy.................God I miss him. xxxxxxx

MultipleMama · 01/06/2013 23:02

bubby - Wonderful news about your friend, just the type of good news you need to cheer you up.

Trips - I bet it feels never ending! Hope things are sorted out! :(

I had really, really bad cramping last night and a fever, no bleeding and thought I was miscarrying and made DH take me to A&E and call our consultant, I've been in hospital since 2am this morning. They called it a threatened miscarriage. T1's fluid is low which could be the cause but have no answers for me. I've had test after test and I'm fine, my temp is down and I'm no longer cramping, I've had 5 scans and all show twins are growing and are healthy (except T1 being on the small side). I'm to be kept in for the week on constant fluids and an IV. Basically; they're doing all they can but whatever happens, happens.

I'm stuck in bed next a woman who does not shut up and is still on the bloody phone. The woman across from me is snoring. This is not a stress free environment, and I won't get my own room until tomorrow. Only thing keeping me sane is texting DH.

DF is staying at ours and working from there to help and DH is taking a week of unpaid leave off work - which we so don't need right now. I hate being away from my kids and I hate sleeping alone, why can't I be on bed rest at home and be stuck with an IV there :(. RANT OVER HAHA.

Sokmonsta · 01/06/2013 23:03

Oh trips! You are having a shit time and it couldn't have come at a worse time by the sound of it. I hate to say it but would dh be better off back in hospital where they can sort him out properly instead of patching him up and sending him on his way. The cellulitis is shitty and possibly creating more holes. From what I remember the tissue eats itself. Very basic description but my dad has permanent issues with his leg after leaving cellulitis poorly treated for far, far too many months.

We too spent 4 hours at the hospital with Jen. NHS direct sent us up to a&e after a purple rash spread alarmingly rapidly across her body this afternoon. Thankfully it was red rather than purple by the time we for there (I think it was purple because she was cold to touch), so appears to be that old standby of 'viral rash/infection' but the poor sausage is still so out of it and grumpy. She wants to be held all the time, but only wants me to hold her for any length of time. I can't leave the room without her howling to be snuggled on me again. Been told to ring and ask for an appt with ooh if she gets worse as they will access the children's dr quicker than waiting in a&e. if not, got to take her back to our gp Monday if no better.

I've tucked her in her cot wrapped in a fleece blanket and her duvet as she's still so chilly. It seems to have worked for now as I got her from my lap to cot with barely a murmer.
