Aww shabs!

Just back from fireworks. Dinner in oven, kids in bed, beer is chilled, just need the footy to start and we are sorted!

Morning girls xx

Did you enjoy your break Trips? xx

bubby64 · 05/11/2012 10:12

TripsBeen away from MNet for a week, and find you have been near me on a vist. Gutted as I would have suggested a meet up if I had known!!
Soks- better getting it all over and done with in one hit- mine decided to do it one after the other, so, in the end, it went on for nearly 5 weeks total.
HM - I missed your visit back on here too!
Shabs - Hope you feel better soon.
I spent last week looking after my 2 plus my neighbours 2, and am really glad to be back at work, as they exhausted me. Also, because I was trying to keep all four 9yr to 12yr olds amused, I ended up trying to walk too much, and have put my back out as my limping got so severe, so in pain with that as well as the ankle at the moment.
Not that my 2 seem to appreciate it, in fact, there has been a running battle all week with James and DH and I, he has become a mouthy, lazy, moaning pre-teen, who will pick an argument with anyone at the drop of a hat! I hate to say this, but I really am struggling to like him at the moment, Mike has had his moments, but it is usually because James has been sh*t stirring first.
On the plus side, the Pontiac is nearly finished, I have managed to sort out the boys birthday, and I earned enough over the past 2 months doing extra work to pay for Christmas this year.

Hi all............yes Shabs I did thank you, it was a nice change and loads of good food and wine and adult company! We had a laugh!! The house was to die for, slept 12 of us easily, and pub within spitting distance! Bubbs where are you then? We loved the area, Thorpeness, Aldeburgh and Southwold. Just disappointed I didn`t get to the shops at Southwold, absolutley nowhere to park, so we just did the pier which was great fun. Weather was ok until Sun but we were leaving anyway. So back to the grind!

Chopstheduck · 05/11/2012 17:41

welcome trips n bubby!

sounds lovely trips!

Bubby, I feel like that a lot about dd atm! I just keep hoping it is a phase and she will improve again. she is a moody, stroppy, often vicious little madam at times right now. Its a bit like living with jekyll and hyde, and I'm never sure if jekyll or hyde is going to appear in the mornings! And i do NOT like Hyde much!

No one is near Birmingham are they? I'm probably going up there first weekend of december and will be all by MYSELF Grin

triplets · 05/11/2012 22:38

Evening all................soon back to normal here at Peace Towers. Rebeccas friends called for her at 4pm and left at 8pm, more mouths to feed! Catching up on washing, endless amounts of underwear, the boys seem to get through more than her! And dont you just hate matching up black school socksConfused Still no sign of Ollie, felt strange coming home y/day, no Ollie and no Mum to ring. I would always get home and call her to say we were back:( Night night all................xx

Morning girls xx

Kept waking up all night because I was having panic attacks....how the hell do you have them in your bloody sleep? AND I take beta blockers to prevent them??? Awful struggling to breathe etc. Got hair that looks like a Farah Fawcett Majors 'do' this morning LOL....all flicked back at the sides - looks beautiful Hmm

Ah well!!

Chopstheduck · 06/11/2012 09:11

morning girls x

hope you are feeling better shabs.

Trips, you really need to put your foot down! No way would I be able to feed extras at short notice. Usually plenty of food, but lots of strange forrin' food that our guests would be unlikely to touch! Dosa, anyone?!

dd went to school with no breakfast this morning. Turned her nose up at 50/50 bed, so I told her to take the white bread. Gave me a dirty look and started grumbling about that, then took it started whinging and moaning, so I took it off her, gave it to Jack and told her to go without! Did feel a bit mean, but I bet she won't try it again! Grin

shabbatheGreek · 06/11/2012 09:25

Aye I will be fine Chops. xx

bagpuss · 06/11/2012 11:22

Morning!

Trips, you say your boys generate more washing but I have just removed half a load of washing comprising mainly underwear from dd1s room. She is hiding it! Would anybody care to tell me why? Your break sounds lovely though. I'm not envious in the slightest, no Envy

It is rainy and grim here today. I just want to go back to bed really, but housework needs doing!

Chopstheduck · 06/11/2012 19:11

I havea slanket. I'm not ill but I do love my slanket. It's has New York giants all over it (American football).

Been one of those days. Went on 40 mile round trip to Asda to collect something and they wouldn't give it to me cos I didn't have dh's bank card! Even though the order is with My account and in My name. Photographic evidence in the form of criving licence not good enough apparently.
Nearly rear ended a car on the way back trying to sneak thru an amber light! Blush
Then I had to get onto the council who have sold our details for the electoral roll even though we ticked the box asking them not to. Apparently they lost this years form! That's why I hate filling those forms in.
Then dh was an hour late because someone jumped in front of a train. fish and chips for dinner tonight once the kids are in bed!

bagpuss · 06/11/2012 20:42

Yes, I am currently wrapped in my zebra print slanket, glass of red by my side Grin.

Boo to Asda, chops. I have had a run in with Tesco this week but it managed to get me a gift card in compensation for them messing up our order so I'm feeling calmer now.

Enjoy your fish and chips, we had hairy bikers mince and dumplings. Proper cold weather food here brrrr!

Chopstheduck · 06/11/2012 20:56

I was planning to make hairy bikers pie! Could t find tarragon anywhere though. Fish and chips was tasty however.

bubby64 · 06/11/2012 22:41

Zebra striped slanket here, and spaghetti and meatballs for tea. The. Out to my choir practice
Trips, you were about 40mins drive from me, but that's nothing in this neck of the woods, I would have cut across country to Framingham then on to you if I had known.
Chops -I always buy the same black school socks so I can pair any of them together, saves loads of hassle.
Shabs- after spending last night awake and in tears due to ankle pain, I can sympathise with you, now GP has prescribed Tramadol, so hoping tonight will be better.
Went to the school today as M has lost his whole PE kit! All named, including bag and trainers, couldn't find it anywhere, but did find both his school sweatshirts he had lost! I have told the school I am not spending £40 on replacing it all yet, so will be sending him in with plain white redshirt and navy shorts and a tracksuit top instead of rugby shirt!
Oh,and J continues to be a pain in the arse!

I woke up yesterday this morning with my big fat bum out in the freezing cold bedroom......DK hogging the sheets and quilt.....glad I couldn't see my big fat bum cause I reckon it would have been a lovely shade of blue!!!!! Oh how I wish I had a slanket with the Man City badge on it.

shabbatheGreek · 07/11/2012 06:47

Morning girls xx

Chopstheduck · 07/11/2012 07:56

Morning girls x

Tramadol is great stuff, hopefully that will help. A friend gave me some, for after I had all my top teeth out, and it really was fab stuff. I still have some for emergencies!

I hate weds. I am tired and I want it to be thursday! Wed is the day of cross country, beavers and girls brigade.

bubby64 · 07/11/2012 08:26

Slept for more than an hr at a time last night! First time this has happened for weeks, and I feel sooooo much better this morning.
I despair over Mike's memory, I sent him upstairs 3 times this morning to get his school sweatshirt, and 3 times he came back down without it! Also, has already missplaced the memorystick and his spare locker key i attached to his schoolbag with a chain yesterday, any ideas what i can do with him apart from staple things to his forehead?????

Evening All - We have had Dr Jekyll James this evening,Shock the pleasant, helpful boy that has been in hiding for the past week or so. Don't know why this is, and I am not questioning it, just basking in the peaceful atmosphereWink

Meanwhile at Peace Towers dd has been severely reprimanded Angry

Chopstheduck · 07/11/2012 20:31

Ooh do make the most of it bubby!

What's happened, trips?

bagpuss · 07/11/2012 20:32

Oh dear trips, that doesn't sound good Sad.

Bubby, that's good, I hope it continues!

I am as pleased as punch today. I had a lovely letter from ds1s school this morning, he has been put on the g&t register Shock. It is the first I've heard of it but I am immensely proud Grin. Just need to push encourage him on a bit now. It was target setting day, today which to a parent means your child with have half an hour in school and spend the rest of the day on his Xbox Hmm. We survived though!

shabbatheGreek · 07/11/2012 20:58

bubby - staple away love.....Tom lost/had stolen two full PE kits in year 7....including football boots, trainers, indoor kit, outdoor kit etc etc. Hmm

Trips - you OK love? xx

Tomorrow Tom has two Advanced Maths GCSE exams.....one in the morning and one in the afternoon - which will not finish till 4.30pm (normal school hometime is 3.15) - then he has to get home, have his tea and we have to be at Bolton Albert Halls for 7pm for him to be presented with his GCSE Maths certificate from last year.....the thought of all that is making me feel knackered and I only have to go to the presentation with him!!!
