Morning girls

Hope weather is better today trips.

I am sooo tired. Late night last night watching the closing ceremony, two weeks late!

Unpacking and laundry all done, and house and car cleaned. My brand new car will have 4000 miles on the clock when I take it for it's 1 month check next week! Blush

ChopstheDuck · 28/08/2012 10:22

Morning........alright when I have to keep this thread going, I am supposed to be on holiday don`t you know? Sat in the hot tub all on my own in the pouring rain at 8am................now gone 11am and kdis just surfacing and its still raining. Not alot to do in the immediate area the two local villages are not very interesting, looks like being a movie day!

ChopstheDuck · 29/08/2012 11:37

hot tub alone sound idyllic right now!

I've resorted to headphones but the kids are still going on muuum, muuum, mum, mum, mum - ARGH!

Usually we go on holiday right at the end of the summer break - now I remember why! dd isn't even back until next friday, but at least the boys are back on tuesday.

triplets · 29/08/2012 11:49

Back on here to call MNetters who live near here, need somewhere to go!

ChopstheDuck · 29/08/2012 12:21

is it still raining? When I went up that way to stay with meeely, she took me to Newstead Abbey - very pretty!

ChopstheDuck · 30/08/2012 06:35

Goodmorning girls..............looks as though its dry out there...........will drag my backside out of bed and jump into the hot tub.................if I must:o
Hope Shabs is having a fantastic time........she will not want to come home. Rubester, have noticed you seem in a "strange" mode, twice you have said its been "strange"...............pour quoi?
Chopster am most impressed with your culinary skills....................raclette! I sense you have a love of food and are a good cook! I adore cooking, but find at the moment its wasted on my lot..........I have just bought another cook book, Paul Hollywoods...........love the British Bake Off prog. I have over 100 cook books!!

ChopstheDuck · 30/08/2012 09:15

Hope you ok rubes x

Can I join u in the hot tub trips? Will bring bagels and smoked salmon!

My lot came down the stairs arguing and screaming at each other this morning. Thankfully ds1 is off to respite today, and I have decided to let dd take dt1 to the park for a bit.

It's two roads away and we live in a quiet area, so I think they will be fine though I am a bit nervous! It was so nice on holiday them having the freedom to roam around and they are desperate to go out more on their own. dd started going with ds1 when they were 10 and 8, so I think it is time for dt1! Unfortunately I can't trust dt2 which seems unfair but he is not sensible or obedient enough, so he will stay restricted to our road for now.

Raclette was rather tasty! Roasted herby potatoes, and onions, chorizo sausages and pickles, slightly toasted french bread and we set up the raclette in the lounge and just drizzled the cheese over it all. It's that sort of thing though that has lead to me now being 3 stone overweight again! I really need to diet.

I do love to cook and bake, it started when the dts were born actually - as an escape from them! Dh looked after the dts while I cooked, and the menus got more elaborate Grin I have a huge cookbook collection too. The kids mostly love it, especially more exotic stuff like chinese dumplings, zebra, grenouille even! dd is getting to that age and a bit more fussy but more about things like eating cereal rather than home cooked food.

shabbapinkfrog · 30/08/2012 18:01

Hiya

I am ignoring the fact that we have to leave for Diagros airport at 8pm on Saturday night - if I ignore it maybe it wont happen!! xx

Well it poured all day................again! We tromped round Sherwood Forest to see The Major Oak, Robins tree, over 1100 years old.................were the kids impressed..............they sniggered.............
So off tomorrow for three nights on a lake in Lincolnshire.............I can`t stand the excitement...........
xx

ChopstheDuck · 31/08/2012 07:27

Must admit, I wasn't that impressed with the major oak neither - it's held up with scaffolding - that's just CHEATING! Grin

Hope Lincolnshire is better for you.

My back is killing me, I need to lose weight! Must stay motivated, and may take the kids for a bike ride today.

Hi All, sorry to be AWOL, again! been a funny old week, spent 2 days in and out of town looking for school trousers to fit J, I thought M would be the problem, but his were easy, J was a different matter, no matter what I got, they didnt fit comfortably, took him into BHS in the end and he tried on 4 different types before we found comfy ones, and then they only had one pair! Thank God for the fact they have free home delivery at the moment, so ordered and paid for second pair online. Now finally got everything.
Chops- I have also been giving my DS's a bit more freedom lately. I drop them off in our local small market town, (15 mins away) they go swimming, then walk into town, mooch around there for a bit before 'phoning me then walking to my mums, and I pick them up from there. I was worried the first time, and I keep reiterating they must stick together, take their 'phones, and call me or run to my mums if they are worried. DH also works there, so could be with them in under 10 minutes if required.
Only problem is, J lost his new specs whilst doing this Wednesday, and so far we can't find them, I'm going to phone pool again today, then go into town and ask around, go to mums and look, and pray we find them, as I can't afford a new pair like them, and he starts at the High School next Wednesday! He may end up with a really cheap temp pair, and he is already saying he doesn't want that as he will get teased, but he should have been more careful, if they had been on his face where they were supposed to be, he wouldn't have lost them.Hmm

ChopstheDuck · 31/08/2012 09:01

aww, poor boy, bubby!

dt2 is a sod with his glasses too. We bought nice ones, because they were the only ones that really suited him, and he bends them, leaves them laying around, all sorts. One time they were missing for a week, cos he left them in the car when it went into repair, 30 miles away!

The park outing did go well, thankfully!

bubby64 · 31/08/2012 13:48

The specs have been found! He left them in the locker at the pool, and they were still there when they searched this morning. He is so happy Grin. He is swimming there again this afternoon, and has even remembered to pack his glasses case in his swim kit without promptingShock They are at another free activities day today, kangeroo boots/skating/crafts/treasure hunt this morning, air-rifle shooting and 2 hours swimming this afternoon, oh, I do love our local council for putting these "Get Active" days on each weekGrin, I just hope they have the funding to continue with this programme.
