What a night in London, the atmosphere must have been amazing! I am not a huge sports fan but have been glued most of the day..............proud to be British tonight :)

Morning Shabs, why is it every day of the school holidays feels like a Sunday? You know how much I love Sundays Sat here looking for an affordable holiday where we might all enjoy ourselves.......................trouble is they won`t let me go on my own................ha ha!

Because we went to Elliott's christening yesterday (my nephews little boy) today will mainly be filled with the following marvellous activities......

Clean, hoover bedrooms.
Clean toilet, mop bathroom floor.
Hoover stairs and landing.
Mop kitchen floor and try to make sense of the mess in there.
Hoover, polish, clean living room.
Make full roast for everybody.
Make a note to pin on the front door 'WE HAVE PLAGUE...KEEP AWAY ANYBODY WHO HAS A FIRST NAME THAT STARTS WITH L AND ENDS IN S.

Heavy grey skies.....rain pelting down (had hailstones yesterday)....and its freeeeeeeeeezing. This is no ordinary AUGUST morning - this is a Bolton AUGUST morning.

Oh Shabs send him down to me, another one wont make any diff here, we could go rock pooling, shrimping, to the castle for a pic-nic (when Im in residence:o)...............Ive got 4 yr old twins coming for 2 days next week, I should start a creche.Still no holiday found, I blow hot and cold, just cant get my mind round to sorting it, its Mum.............just cant believe she is not here. I am not crying, yet feel I should be.............just feel like someones cut off my little finger........................its all wrong. We all need a break, but I just cant find something for everyone, I feel like doing something exciting...........God knows what though:o Kale Nits ma petite champignon:o xx

Morning Shabs............any sun today? Not bad here..........the lodge I was looking at for a week at the end of Aug is now not available, dk will be cross as I should have booked it y/day...................oh well!!

Have you ever thought about Austria, trips? We had one of our best holidays ever in the Zell Am see region. It's brillant because you can buy a Salzburger card which covers you for heaps of activities.

We went down a salt mine (wicked miners slide for the kids, boat ride underground, etc) salzburg castle and city, boat on the Salzach river, went grass sledging, two fantastic natural thermal spas, went round Mozarts House, visited another castle with bird of prey displays, drove the großglockner high alpine road and saw the Pasterz glacier and marmots, and climbed Kimmler wassefälle (highest in Europe and easier than it sounds!)

There was so much to do, we couldn't believe it!

Oh and you can see all the settings for the Sound of Music!

No better Trips....heavy grey skies and cold enough to put coats back on!!! Rained so hard yesterday that it leaked in through our double glazed, thick, front door walked into the tiny hallway without shoes on and waded back out....sick to death of 'so called' Summer.....if we weren't escaping to Greece I would be sulking for England!!

The bit that is at the bottom of the door that takes the rain back away from the door was so overloaded that it poured inside. How rather lovely.

Book for Faliraki from 22nd August - dont tell DK we are there....your kids would love it - they could tag along with Tom, Seva, Stergos and Yiannis. Just tell DK you are taking everybody to an idyllic Greek island - dont mention Bar Street and Club Street though.

Eek! I've not been fishing in years. I keep meaning to take the boys, but I don't know what happened to all my stuff and it would cost a fortune to get new.

Mine were pains in the backsides yesterday until we went out. They were begging me to let them climb a tree, and I wouldn't let them. Half a dozen kids were already up in the branches, and then ten minutes later, a poor little lad fell 7 foot onto his head! Went off in an ambulance, but didn't seem to have broken anything, so hoping he is fine. So boys, that's why you don't climb trees!
