Yes Lew is a curly red head with skin the colour of a milk bottle. The highest factor sun cream you can find....hats...long sleeves if poss. The list is bloody endless. Loads to drink - preferably water. He is just arriving now - will ask his Mum if she has any more tips xx

Very high factor sun cream - waterproof if poss. Has to be put on about every two hours. Hat on all the time - long sleeved t-shirt even in the water. Lew knows if it is sunny he cannot go outside without a hat...its been drummed into him for the last couple of years. His Mummy & Daddy said 'Good luck and have fun!!' 'Life with a red head is 'interesting!!'

Thanks shabs. This little girl is like a little milk bottle too, she is absolutely gorgeous, and dt1's best friend! I'm really hoping she has a UV suit or something, if not will def ask for long sleeved tshirt that she can wear in the pool.

I've a load of bottles of water that I've frozen overnight, so we have nice cold water for the day and I've got some factor 50 somewhere that I won in a competition, will probably end up slathering her in the whole bottle over the course of the day! TBH the whole issue hadn't even crossed my mind til her dad texted me saying to be sure she wears her hat, then I panicked!

Thanks Chops.........searching for a holiday. Got dates we can do, but cannot find domething for everybody. Dh is looking at campsites in France......................nooooooooooooooo! I am so fed up with cooking, can`t stand too much heat anymore, need loads to occupy the kids...........why is it so hard?

Trips I said to my DK tonight 'wish I could kidnap Trips and take her to Faliraki with us.' 'Oh shabbs I think she might think Faliraki was a bit like Blackpool with sun.' I replied - 'I think she would spend the entire 10 days wetting her kecks laughing at what we get up to there....she would bloody love it. Dont forget me and her have already been on a 'virtual' holiday and loved every minute!!!'

Chops - Lew asked me as soon as he got here if the 'little girl was still white and was she OK.' Then he said 'I like that name Chopstheduck, is that the ladies real name? I want to be on Mumsnet and be called Lewtheduck!'

lol Chops is actually what we used to call dt1 as a baby, and chopstheduck I think came about through Harrogatemum. I actually have a duck hanging in my car, also called chopstheduck, shall have to take a pic!

OMG Chops - Lew becomes obsessed with finding out about 'stuff'...we have had to look through your FB photo's and I have had to explain who everybody is. He wants a rabbit, he wants to swim in your pool, wants to know if your lad is going to marry the 'very white girl.' Wants to know if Jessie Jay was any good and are you going to see Rhianna - and if you are can he come? Hurry up 1.30pm pllllllllllllllllllllllease!!! LOL

Tell him the rabbits aren't as cuddly as they look! The black one is a NINJA rabbit that climbs on top of the hutch and they don't like being stroked and run away. They only like FOOOD! They not actually very good pets, but they are fun to watch.

They are like my friend at nursery 'Peter the brown boy' ROFL (Peter has had that title since they first met about a year ago) If chopstheduck little brown boy marries the little white girl and they have babies what colour will they be? He is fascinated by the colour of peoples skins.....really, really interested. He asks questions in a very loud voice and wont shut up until he gets answers!!! Think it would be a better world if we all said what we thought (as kindly as possible) and asked 1,000 questions a day!! I do love the way kids are so much more upfront. I remember going to the park when the twins were babies and a little boy coming to have a look and exclaiming, 'look mum, those babies are chocolate like me!' He was chuffed to bits at finding chocolate babies!

if Rav married the white girl, they would probably STILL have brown babies! All this sun is turning both the boys very dark atm, apart from a white stripe where their shorts have been - I told them they look like dominos

Shabs - I see one of the threads of the day is about non-stop talking, have you looked at it yet?LOL.
I will always remember my two on their first real encounter with a dark skinned person in Burger King when they were toddlers. They couldn't stop looking and pointing and asking in very loud voices "why is that man brown mummy?" I wanted to sink under the table!!.You have to remember, we live in the depths of Suffolk, and until recently there were no coloured children living in our village, and very few in the nearest small town!
As for "Fun in the Sun" My two are fair skinned with redhead tendencies from DK, so they burn easily, so I alway use factor 50 on them, but if allowed to tan gently, they mostly go a lovely colour, but their faces become a mass of freckles, which I love and they hate. When we had a holiday in Spain 5 yrs ago, DK found some factor 70 in a local pharmacist, and even with that he burned a little. I said he would be better off applying mud if we went again!
