Yes he is very, very like his Daddy. When I look at the picture of my DH with the twins it makes me sad. Its only a few years ago when I looked at it and realised how tiny and how blue Gareth was. My god that little 'un was a fighter. He used to hit Dan constantly and scream at the top of his lungs. Miss the little fella very much. xx

Ruby, you are correct, suffolk tractor girl, no tweeting yellow birds allowed in this house! lol.
The car shows are great, but we tend to exhibit at least 1 a month from April onwards and sometimes once a week during the height of the season in summer, so boys (and I) get bored looking at cars, so its always good to go to ones where there is something else to do. They LOVE the one at Dryton Manor, where they get free entry to theme park all weekend!
Chops -Sloe Gin is easy - 3/4 litre of gin in a litre bottle, fill up with sloes (wash and prick their skins 1st) 4-6 tablespoons of caster sugar,(the more sugar added, the sweeter andd more alchoholic the final result) put top on and shake! Shake well daily for first 2 weeks, then a couple of times a week after that. It is best left for at least 8 weeks before you filter out the sloes, and re-bottle, (it is optional if you wish to add some boiled water to top up)and leave for another couple of weeks. Drink and enjoy, but remember it will be strong, so take care!
I also make pear wine, and freeze blanched pears to use in purees etc with icecreams and puds.
Shabs and Chops, you have my full sympathy, i had said J had a full meltdown last Thursday, I marched him down the stairs and threatened to put him out the front door then, the only reason he didn't get put outside was it was 11pm! Oh and I love the hat too!

I've got no idea where to pick sloes!

even tho we in berkshire, we have a tweeting yellow bird shirt AND dressing gown in ds1's wardrobe! He gets very odd looks at footy practice but we came up for this season!!

bubby64 · 13/09/2011 16:28

Trips... room on this lap too, but you'll have to chuck off 2 dogs and a cat first...
Chops, Sloes are on blackthorn bushes, on most country lanes, they are the bluish/black berries about the size of a small grape.
The tractor boys arn't exactly going great guns either... ...
On and entirely different note, my 2 are being "pulled" up to scouts tonight,(the other scouts put a rope around them and pull them away from the cub pack) as they're now deemed old enough and there are too many little ones wanting to come up from beavers, the trouble is that, to me,they look far too little to be in with the scouts, most of whom are literally head and shoulders above them! Sad Where has the time gone...

Chopstheduck · 13/09/2011 17:13

I love the passing up rituals of scouts. my olkder two go to boys/girl's brigade but the dts do scouts. We watched the older beavers being pulled along on a raft up to cubs end of last term while they chanted a little poem - was so cute! BB/GB don't seem to do anything similar. good luck to your two, it'll be my pairs first session following their investment this week Smile

oooggs · 13/09/2011 21:43

hey bubbly, ds1 had his 1st meet at cubs tonight!!!! No idea how he got on as I was at a Guiders meeting!!

Morning Shabs, morning all.
Hi oooggs- Hope DS1 enjoyed himself, my 2 have loved being both Beavers and Cubs, they have done so much with both groups, from canoeing to camping, absailing to horseriding. Going to do even more with Scouts, including a whole week summer camp next year. Only trouble is they start tomorrow and the times are 7-9pm, so wont be home and in bed til almost 10pm -going to have 2 overtired kids FridaySad
Trips - Glad u feeling better, chocchoc has that effect on me too!

shabbapinkfrog · 14/09/2011 10:58

Lew: Im hungry again Andma, can me have me dinner now?

Me: Im sure you have worms Lew.

10 minutes later.

Lew: Andma, I'm a piggin' worm!!

Quick show of hands (before his Mum comes for him at lunchtime) Who reckons piggin' is swearing for a 3 year old? I really dont want to get in trouble from DIL again

bubby64 · 14/09/2011 11:15

Oh Shabs
I think you may just be in a little trouble here... 3yr olds tend to repeat themselves, dont they?....

shabbapinkfrog · 14/09/2011 11:18

LOL but piggin' isin't piggin' swearing - is it? Sure its piggin' not!! x

I love my DIL very much but I often get the look that only a nursery nurse can give a MIL

I have decided I am not going to mention a word to DIL and if and when he says it I will deny all knowledge and say to Lew 'Oh darling, try your best not to say that, its so, so common' Grin

What a day!Spent 7 hours helping my friend move into her new house! Its sweet, 2 mins from the beach, shaker style beach house.......tiny. Its down a track and guess what? A few weeks ago I helped a friend move as well, I got home, completly crean crackered, found cereal bowls and crisp packets everywhere, then DH looked up from the xbox he had been playing most of the afternoon and said "why don't you pop to town and get us a takeaway! The answer was unrepeatableAngry
