Morning Ruby

LOL @ God help both of them!!

My Mum has to be my star of the day!!! On Thursday, Dad rang to say she really wasn't well and they couldn't pick up Tomster!!

Saw her yesterday and she said 'Dad had put out my tablets and it was just after tea time (Northern speak for Dinner) he had poured me a great big glass of Baileys - so I took my tablets with the Baileys - do you think thats why I was so dizzy on Thursday?'

'Could be Mum!!' I personally hope that she gets smashed off her face at least 3 times a week. Got to love the Dotster xxx

Evening girlie We have had a wonderful weekend after a Thursday from hell with J's behaviour.(He had a complete meltdown about that evening, over something stupid, I think its a case of hormones starting to kick in!)
Our village had its first homegrown music festival and it has been great, all types of music from classical to samba, folk to indie and beatbox! There has been some wonderful local bands, good food (it was like many street parties rolled into one, we took down food and all shared) and a good time has been had by all. Not much money spent, as most of it was entry by a programme which was £5 per adult, the kids all went free. They learned how to play in a samba band, also made full sized "fake" guitars and other instruments, and there really has been "Dancing in the Streets". A wonderful atmosphere abounded.
We all hope this will be a yearly event!

Evening Bubby, evening all.......................I am completely zonked! Did my charity tea party in our garden today to raise money for The National Brain Appeal, rained on and off all day, about 30 people came which was abit disappointing as I had baked for England.......................cake anyone? So far though we have made £170 which is very good. Alot of hard work though, don`t think it will be a yearly event!!

good luck to the little ooglets!

That sounds fab, bubby Smile

well done trips, wish I lived nearer, would have helped you - can't believe it was your first ever batch of muffins - I love baking, though my waistline doesn't! I'm working my way through the Hummingbird Bakery book - red velvet cupcakes, rose cupcakes, chocolate and peanut butter whoopie pies..they are irresistible!

I've been in the kitchen all morning. It's that time of year, and I have bags of pears and apples people have given me, blackberries the kids picked, plus all the stuff from our garden. Made tarte tartin and pickled the beetroot this morning. Plus marinated durban curried chicken for dinner.

Cooking was my escape from the dts when they were babies, and it still my refuge now!

Rav has had his cast off, and the scar isn't quite so bad as I feared, and he is moving it well, so all looks good. No PE or outside play for another month tho, seems a shame cos by the time he is ready, it will turning colder.

Took them to the motor show in battersea over the weekend, got to drive some very nice expensive cars!

oooggs · 12/09/2011 19:12

cheers chops - they had a lovely time, though dt1 threw an almighty hissing fit when she got home - totally overtired Hmm

triplets · 12/09/2011 22:57

ooogs..............if they feel tired imagine what their teacher feel like! I was in today with our 30 newbie, first full day for 18 of them, the TA was ill so just the teacher and me, great fun trying to get them to get their coats bags, go to the loo etc if they were going home, then loo, wash hands if they were having packed lunch/school dinner etc. Then the confusion as to why some could go andsee mummy but some couldn`t..................................................exhausting!

bubby64 · 12/09/2011 23:02

oooggs- glad you DC had a good day today, sorry to hear about the aftermath, but it will get better!
Trips- well done! you can always freeze the extra and bring it out when required.
Chops- I am also going to be busy in the kitchen tomorrow, blanching and freezing runner beans, chopping and freezing cooking apples and pears as well as making jams from soft fruit and chutney from a neighbours over abundance of tomatoes. Soon to be sloe picking time, (sloe gin again for christmas, yum)
We also had the last american classic car show of the year on Sunday, a lovely one at a visitor centre in Thetford forest, where the boys could run, climb and play rather than get bored looking at yet more cars.

triplets · 12/09/2011 23:17

Do you live in Norfolk then Bubby, I have grown very fond of that county lately, love Thetford:)

ooh another Norfolk girl? I grew up in Norfolk, but live in snobby Berkshire now! That car show sounds good. My dts are mini petrol heads so would have loved that.

I've never made sloe gin, but would love to give it a go! I need some ideas for pears, still have a carrier bag full.

It was all sunny out, so put on cropped trousers and contact lenses so can wear sunglasses, and now the fecking sun has disappeared! I'm sure someone is winding me up.
