I've jsut waved dd off to her first day at senior school! It seems such a massive leap! She has been pretty nervous all summer over it but sure she will be a lot happier once the first day is over.

Shabs, hope Tom keeps it up for u!

Weather must have been so bad your way, trips! We got to the channel ferry monday afternoon, 4 hours early. They moved our crossing fw by two hours to 5.20. The crossing took 2.5 hours though, all the stuff was falling off the shelves in duty free, kids thought whole thing was hilarious! dd looked rather green though!

I'm finally kids free for the first time in weeks and it feels very strange.

bubby, you def need to speak to ur neighbour, that is all rather crap x

Places stack of bacon sarnies on the table. I've missed bacon sarnies!

Lew starts nursery in the middle of October. He is obsessed with Mr T's programme 'Worlds craziest fools" and we have to keep watching it and watching it over and bloody over LOL. He has it on now and keeps shouting 'Mummmmmmmy' to me every time a new video comes on it. Which is about 60 times per programme!!!! Yes he calls me Mummy when his Mum is at work Grin

oooggs · 07/09/2011 21:08

hello HM
welcome back chops
wouldn't be impressed either bubbly

blimey isn't 1 child easy Wink I could very well get used to 3 children at school instead of 3 children at home Grin they are loving it and long may it continue Smile

bubby64 · 07/09/2011 21:17

Hi all, welcome back HM.

The boys went back today, they love being the eldest (literally) in the school, Mike is his House Captain (he is older by 1minute, James was gutted!), they were up, washed, dressed and breakfasted by 7.30 this morning,Shock >
Finally managed to get to see my DM, she has Altzheimers, and due to the boys lurgy, I haven't dare go over there the past 2 weeks. She was looking for her specs when I got there, her carer and I searched everywhere, eventually found them in her freezer! Trouble is, my memory is already so bad that I feel i'm going down that route already!!Smile

bubby64 · 07/09/2011 21:39

Shabs at what age did the grunting start with your Tom, as I already occasionally get it from the boys, and their not 11 yet!
Oh, and I have to tell you, when I said to them to put their coats on this am, I was told "coats aren't cool", and also that I wasn't to go to the gates to collect them after school either, but to wait in the carpark if it was raining!Confused I told them that in that case, I would wait at home, and they could get wet walking home, and then they would be very "cool" in every sense of the word!!Grin
In the end, I waited at the gates and when I saw them called out "Mike, Jimbob, Mummy's here!" Was I being horrible???Grin

shabbapinkfrog · 07/09/2011 21:42

Toms grunting started when he was 13 and I am hoping it is now peaking - it cant go any worse - can it?

My Mum also has that horrible bloody illness. She is in the early stages and they have given her medication that seems to have halted it at the moment. Wish there was a cure xx

I did indeed, trips.

Bardolino slightly chilled.

Tomato and buffalo mozarella salad with torn basil, drizzled with aged Modena balsamic followed by crab and saffron ravioli I reckon!

I brought back 8 bags of pasta flour from Italy Blush It is so cheap there! I use it to make pizza dough as well as pasta, so will prob be all gone by xmas. Also bought three big bottles of Bardolino olive oil. I'm going to miss not going to Italy next year, as won't be able to stock up on the food :( I love the giant capers too, never see them here.

triplets · 08/09/2011 10:19

Chops the crab ravioli sounds heaven do you have a recipe by any chance, I confess I have never made my own pastaBlush you are obviously a good cook:)
Morning Shabs, just spent 90 mins turning out the boys room, can`t face Rebeccas!

shabbapinkfrog · 08/09/2011 10:22

Please tell me how I can stop watching every documentary on 9/11. Yes I know the simple answer is turn the telly off. I watched one a couple of nights ago called something like the Twin Towers - it featured about 6 sets of adult twins telling their stories. OMG I cant get any of their faces out of my mind. Have just read this post back and it sounds ridiculous!!

OP posts:
Chopstheduck · 08/09/2011 10:28

will get back to you on that! Not tried putting the crab in tortellini yet. Grin The pasta is quite a new thing, dh bought me a pasta machine for my bday. It attaches to my kitchenaid and we're all hooked on it, and experimenting with different things. I not sure I could make it by hand, too lazy to keep rolling it.

My next plan is to learn how to make gnocchi!

When the kids rooms get in a mess I just go in and put it all in a pile for them to clear up. The dts are very good at doing dd's room for me too Grin I swear girls are ten times worse than boys though. The three boys are in one room, she has her own room, but her's is always worse.

Chopstheduck · 08/09/2011 10:34

I've not seen any of them yet, shabs. Taped the twins one though. We still have loads to catch up from holiday

Did anyone see the baby adoption one? Lady called Saira adopting from Pakistan. Really finding it a bit difficult to stomach some of her comments about disability. The bit where she said they could have a baby for a week, and then find it had a disability or illness and what about all the hats and things she had bought?! hmm!! I can understand her misgivings a bit but at least you would thing she'd be concerned about attachment not the sodding clothes!

shabbapinkfrog · 08/09/2011 10:54

Chops - the twin 9/11 documentary was amazing xx

OP posts:
bubby64 · 08/09/2011 13:01

Shabs - I watched the twins 9/11 one too, didn't mean to, it came on just as I was about to go to bed, but I got hooked, very good.
Chops - never made my own pasta, but have thought about it in the past, but I was put off by the rollong and re-rolling. The crab filling sounds divine!W
Trips-I am totally fed up with tidying the boys rooms, andhave resorted to removing the x-box from use until they have tidied but their version of tidying is to shove everything from the floor into either their cupboard or under the bed!

triplets · 08/09/2011 23:36
