good luck for ds1, ruby, hope it goes well. Smile

I'm very tired. took ds1 and his bf to Spy Games near Milton Keynes yesterday. Def one to recommend - they had an ace time. Shame it so far from us.

Glorius sunshine here, though I doubt I will be going out to enjoy it. Need to start thinking about packing, cooking and baking ready for holiday on Fri. Plus got to take dd to get her secondary uniform on weds, which I am NOT looking forward to - £28 for a blazer!! Angry Hopefully both the dts will be elsewhere at least so I don't need to drag them up there for the 2 hour queue.

rav is well on the mend, wants to be running around now, but worried he will fall and crack the plaster!

That sounds lovely, I really want to go down that way, never been. Probably will go in the next couple of years.

We driving down to northern Italy for a week, south of France for a week then a weekend on lake Geneva before heading home. I can't wait - now sitting with the travel guides finalising the itinerary!

Right trips, you and me next year! I really want to do America - san francisco down to Mexico. Grin

Luckily the kids don't really mind yet, tho give it a couple of years..! They loved it last year - we went Germany, Austria, Italy, Zurich side of Switzerland then Luxembourg. They loved Venice, and going to spas in the Alp! dd particularly likes Germany, she is fascinated by the history.

We use campsite caravan based holidays then tag on a few cheap hotel stays, so it's cheaper than a package holiday and we get to see so much more! I'd def recommend it.

Need to start the dreaded packing this morning! We always forget something. The car is usually bursting to the seams.

Chopstheduck · 16/08/2011 07:14

I'm now investigating the minefield of secondary school bags and pencil cases! Just seen on dd's facebook that one of her friends has just been bought a Jack Willis bag for £40! Shock Apparently backpacks def aren't cool any more. Dd has been using a lovely Degas tote from Paris, but that's not going to be big enough for secondary. Need to find something cool and CHEAP! dd isn't home at the moment to ask her opinion.

oooggs · 16/08/2011 07:16

blimey chops ouch!!!! This year I have the expense of dts starting reception. DS1 is going into juniors but thankfully staying in the same school so just a few new shirts etc...

Seems steep for a bag they just throw down the corridors Wink

Chopstheduck · 16/08/2011 07:29

starting reception - aww! Will they be half days at first? Are they going in the same class?

Luckily the other three are pretty cheap, have bought uniforms when it is on offer and will be keeping a lookout for second hand jumpers for the dts. I did buy them one new one each when they started, and one got pinced (nametag was firmly sewn in) and the other shrunk and got too small!

I'm dreading outfitting dd tomorrow - looking at over £100 for school uniform and PE kit - have never had to spend anywhere near that :( The require the school logo on most of it and ALL of the PE kit, which normally cost a few quid before.
