I'm LATE with the trolley! Quickly throws on mung dhal, potato shaak, fluffy rice and roti.

I have a very good excuse though Sad went to the park with ds fri evening, and he fell 6 ft from a climbing frame. Held up his arm which appeared to have a second wrist in it, wobbling around like a noodle. Daddy, what has happened to my arm?!!
2.5 hours in theatre yesterday, had to have a metal rod inserted through the middle of it. My poor little ds was so brave, put up with 16 hours no food or drink, surgery and everything and not a tear was shed after we got to the hosp. Finally got home late afternoon today. He is now asleep in bed with his arm suspended from the top bunk! He has to keep it elevated for two weeks then the cast will be changed. The rod will come out in 4 months time.

dd and ds1 came back from their camp break on sat and had a fab time. poor buggers got back just as ds2 was in theatre.

So am I excused? Hope everyone else had less eventful weekends, and Lew is on the mend?

OMG Chops - my Tom did exactly the same thing....he broke both bones in his wrist. Had a pin put in and recovered very quickly. However he still has an impressive circular scar on his wrist - it is 'growing' with him. I was pathetic at the hospital....they took him into xray without me. I remember hearing him crying and then silence..... I really, really thought he had died..... Its bloody awful. My love to you and yours. xxx

Trips Im OK love....just feel 'fed up with myself' xxx

Goodmorning girls..............even here in this sumptious bed I am awake at the crack of sparrows! Pulled up the blind and the field in front is full of rabbits, woodpeckers, moor hens, ducks etc, absolutely lovely. Hope the weather is better today, Frid was hot, Sat and Sun rainy and windy. The boys are loving it, James the owner took them out in a canoe y/day for over an hour to make sure they know what they are doing so I am sure they will be off today, of course I shall worry until they get back!! Shabs sending you loads of love and a big for a better day.............will pray that your cheque arrives this week:) Chops hows you brave soldier, hope he has got over his little trauma and has a good nights sleep xx. Back later. xx

Morning girls. Rav is still asleep. Bit worried about his fingers still being so swollen and his thumb hurts and keeps 'fizzing'. Hoping it just because the rod ends just below where the thumb joint starts in his wrist iykwim. He is going to have a long scar on his forearm 2-3" long and a smaller one near his wrist. Going to look like a right little thug Wink

It amazing how common it is - there were three in the ward with him, with the same thing, but the other two got off a bit lighter, just had their bones set. Does Tom mind his scar, shabs?

Unfortunately Rav scars pretty badly. He was up A&E 2 mnths ago when the loft hatch fell on his foot, the corner dug right in just where his toes start. He has a lovely lumpy scar from that one - it'll be something to show the girls though!

He felt pretty sorry for himself when it happened. dt2 had done the same thing moments earlier without injury so it was all very unfair! dt2 is usually the monkey who does everything but gets away with it.

I was scared when he was in theatre. dh went in with him for the GA, I would have been in bits. We were told 20 mins if they could just manipulate it into place, an hour if they had to insert wires. Those 2.5 hours dragged. Was so glad to see him in recovery, and all that had gone on -all he was worried about was his dinner!

He dosen't seem to mind his scar at all....its circular and about the size of a penny. I remember when Tom went into theatre Danny and Em came to the hospital. When they wheeled Tom in Danny stood their crying like a baby....he must have had the same scary feelings that I did!!

Chops hope Rav is ok. Shabs hope Lew is better. Up north at mils & posting from phone isn't easy!

shabbapinkfrog · 08/08/2011 20:53

Lew is better but he has a mouth full of ulcers - or 'hangers' as he calls them. Just living on drinks, ice pops and (as he calls it) maccy cheese!! He is cutting two of his back teeth as well....maybe thats what the high temperature was?

Scary stuff Rubester.....I have had to turn the news off because its driving me crazy - hundreds of unintelligent very young people who have no idea why they are doing what they are doing. No firemen anywhere at all.....very few police - too scary for words. xx

Evening girls.................just got the trio to bed, been watching a H Potter film, 2.5 hours! Weather being very unkind, very windy, cloudy and showery. We went out for the day, supposed to look around Bungay and Beccles and saw neither.................ene up in Tescos!! We had lunch in a pub, a first in many years, £25 and very poor quality and service, disappointing. Spent a pleasant couple of hours at Flixton Air Museum, no charge and brilliant, even got a naffi in a hanger! Got lost going to Beccles took us an hour longer than it should, so H got huffy and we all came back. Staying put here tomorrow, hopefully well see some sun and the boys can go canoeing, H can fish, I can lounge and read and Becca can be a zombie until mid-day with her i-pod glued to her ears.........aint it grand in the country :o Kale Nits xx

Goodmorning Shabs...........cloudy and cool, not fair! Just looked at the weather forecast and our best day looks like tomorrow, dry, still windy, temp around 20 max, Thurs thunder storms and lots of rain, home on Frid! Our first whole week away for 3 years, I just wanted to sit in these lovely grounds and doze in the sun.................bet the minute we go home its lovely! How are you feeling, you must get tired, you are a late bird and early riser like me. Having Lew all day as much as you love him must be exhausting, they are such a responsibility at that age, I know you must watch him like a hawk. Whats he in to now, is he a car/train/ telly fan? Mine were into cars at his age, loved all the dinky cars and lego. Have you got many toys from your boys left? Got my window wide open and there is a delightful smell of cow dung drifting in.......if only this country could give us some consistant good weather for 3/4 months in the summer, I miss getting off the plane in Palma and the heat hitting you, we did think of going back to Pollensa but somehow I feel our time there is over, if you know what I mean. A quiet day today, H wants to fish and the boys are going to pester us to go out in the canoe.........back later. xx

shabbapinkfrog · 09/08/2011 07:38

He is crazy about cars Trips. Hot Wheels especially. He loves lego. We have a big box of Lego here that used to be his Daddies and our Matts. On some of the pieces are tiny little bite marks that Matt did trying to get the bricks apart - even though he was told not to!! Smile I do get tired though. Just waiting for him to arrive now - they must be running a little late. Wish the weather was better for you all Trips - its been cold enough here to put the central heating on to be honest.
