hi i normally receive my payments every monday for one child (4yo) i’ve received no letters or anything and had payment as normal last week. Although my payments are on mondays, i receive them saturday due to my bank, but this week it hasn’t come through and it’s not my bank as carers has come through like every other week as normal. No change of address etc and her dad wouldn’t of put a claim in and don’t think i can contact them till monday so stressed at what’s going on

I don't understand why some have and some haven't!?

Jbalmforth · 03/06/2024 12:42

There's not many that have got it

I have checked with my immediate family, friends and colleagues and they have all received it. But they all receive it monthly

Jess2731 · 03/06/2024 12:49

It’s honestly becoming even more ridiculous, I got no money and no food 3 young children that I need to do food shopping for before the school run.

It’s an absolute joke they need to sort this out quick, I spoke to them and they are not issuing any emergency payments until they find out why people haven’t received it. But surely if they just issued the emergency payments for people and we end up receiving two payments then just don’t pay the following month. They can’t expect people to wait all day when people need stuff for their kids

Having to build, deploy and test a solution to remove duplicated payments from the next payment run could tip it over again is the trouble. They absolutely should be putting together an urgent response to help people, but this just doesn't seem to be getting the attention it deserves. No statement from government minister or HMRC about how we manage in the meantime and when we can expect monies. They should have got charities snd councils together to try and at least give out links to help in the meantime, but I suspect they are more concerned with trying to save face by getting the money in before midnight so they can claim it was paid on time 😞 it will cost them in compo otherwise

Jbalmforth · 03/06/2024 13:01

Has anyone been paid yet

Desperatemum3 · 03/06/2024 13:14

Nothing here either. I literally have nothing to feed my kids with when they come home from school. I can't even get to the foodbank as I do not have the bus fare. It's an absolute disgrace and their update is even worse. People really do live week to week so to not have this is really difficult especially when you have no family or friends to help. I am one of those ppl I am terrified.

Does your school help regarding food? Ours has a pantry. A bit like a food bank for anyone in need.

It doesn't unfortunately they have referred me to duty social work who I am awaiting a call back from. I am scared at having them involved in my life as if I'm some sort of failure but I've had to put my pride aside. Sometimes it's not all black and white to the posters who can't believe mums don't all have a spare £20 knocking about every penny is a prisoner

Friends94 · 03/06/2024 13:30

Hi,

Is it just weekly payments or monthly payments missing also? Thanks:)

Jbalmforth · 03/06/2024 13:30

Really sorry you're in this position 😔

I hope you get sorted or they get it paid soon.

I can’t believe the school wouldn’t help? I’m on the PTA and we’d make sure the kids had a meal out of our own pockets if it came to it!

It’s weird that they all get it today if they’re 4 weekly. Child benefit date depends on when you apply. I get paid 4 weekly but mine is due next Monday (the 10th). I know a few people who should have got it today, but a lot of people who got their 4 weekly pay last week or aren’t due it for a couple of weeks yet.

Just off for everyone you know to be due it today.

@Desperatemum3

Whereabouts in Scotland?

Hi, same thing for me, I usually get the payment on Mondays, on the HMRC account it says they sent the money but I didn’t receive it. It’s usually in Sunday night. Don’t know what to do !

ShesMad · 03/06/2024 13:57

It's finally made it to the mainstream media ... https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/ceqqv249gn6o

Been stressed out the whole weekend thinking maybe it was just me. Praying it's sorted quickly for all of us.

Child Benefit: Half a million waiting on delayed payment

HMRC says it is sorry and is working urgently to resolve the technical issue.

KnitnNatterAuntie · 03/06/2024 14:06

There's a news item on the BBC website about this and they're asking for people who are affected to contact them ~ could I suggest that some of you do this. Your stories really need to be told so that this gets sorted quickly and, hopefully, never happens again . . . .

Unfortunately they are useless. The receptionist didn't even seem interested at all tbh great way to kick someone when they're already down on the floor as it is.
