hi i normally receive my payments every monday for one child (4yo) i’ve received no letters or anything and had payment as normal last week. Although my payments are on mondays, i receive them saturday due to my bank, but this week it hasn’t come through and it’s not my bank as carers has come through like every other week as normal. No change of address etc and her dad wouldn’t of put a claim in and don’t think i can contact them till monday so stressed at what’s going on

I'm supposed to recieve mine today and as of yet still no payment?

Rea24 · 03/06/2024 09:11

Thousands of people rely on this to feed there kids it’s a cost of living crisis and to leave every one in the dark like this is cruel I get mine today and mine hasn’t gone in so looking at every ones comments there is clearly an issue with hmrc.

LakieLady · 03/06/2024 09:11

HMRC could have saved people, including their staff, a lot of grief if they'd put out a media statement about this problem, but apart from the responses on Twitter I've heard nothing and I've had both BBC and Sky on this morning.

If anyone incurs bank charges because of going overdrawn or cancelled payments due to this, it may be worth asking HMRC to cover them. I've succeeded in helping clients get compensation for bank charges incurred because of HMRC/DWP cock-ups in the past.

I know how tough it is when money's tight and a payment's delayed, so I really feel for those affected.

@Theredoubtableskins

You assumed wrong I meant your.

Then it wasn’t spelled wrong. You just used the completely wrong word and your post made no sense.

What does, “Your bad at your job,” mean? (I’m paraphrasing).

That doesn’t mean anything.

You were trying to say, “You are bad at your job.”

The correct word is you’re. Why would you use your? It’s a totally different word with a totally different use. If you’re going to insult someone, do it without making yourself look stupid.

@Theredoubtableskins

You assumed wrong I meant your.

In that case, the poster was correct when they pointed out your spelling error.

Thankfully, we don't need CB Anymore, but I absolutely remember what it was like to rely on it coming in each week to buy food and put money on the electricity meter. I hope everyone who has been affected is able to access support from their banks or family.

Mamachris84 · 03/06/2024 09:14

I have been readding the threads. Did anyone actually recieve child benefits today (3rd june)? As i haven't recieved mine my bank is saying its not from their end and it seems to be almost impossible to get through to hmrc today but my hmrc app is saying payment is due today.

HMRC contact line extremely busy and just add a voice note about the payment not being paid and ask any of us to keep an eyes on our bank accounts throughout the day

wrong thread mate

Oops, apologies.

Kacieee · 03/06/2024 09:16

Hi all, I was wondering if I was the only one who hadn't received CB payment today but seems definitely not. I bank with Natwest and has not landed as it does every Monday. This is bizarre! I hope they sort this asap.

I am in the same boat, CB usually reflects from Friday midnight though it’s in bank every Monday, but still nothing as of today!

Mumsnet removes pedantry posts (it’s in the talk guidelines if you wish to verify).

Alindley · 03/06/2024 09:27

I haven't received mine either. I'm with Monzo so I get mine at 4pm on Fri before. I have waited and I haven't received it. I have checked the app and it says I am due the payment so it advised to ring. But it says there isn't normally services today and will be up and running as soon as possible.

MummytoCSJH · 03/06/2024 09:28

What a joke! They knew full well on Friday there was an issue - the only reason you can get paid early by Monzo/Revolut/whatever bank is because they can see it’s definitely going in and is an irreversible transfer at a certain time the working day prior to the payment date. So it was clearly never sent and they replied to people on Friday and Saturday who informed them but clearly chose to do nothing about it…

Do they also remove the posts insulting someone and calling them bad at their job? Or is that ok?

@Q124 says it much better than me, however here is a recap for you.

They should if you report it. Better that than derailing the thread.
