hi i normally receive my payments every monday for one child (4yo) i’ve received no letters or anything and had payment as normal last week. Although my payments are on mondays, i receive them saturday due to my bank, but this week it hasn’t come through and it’s not my bank as carers has come through like every other week as normal. No change of address etc and her dad wouldn’t of put a claim in and don’t think i can contact them till monday so stressed at what’s going on

I understand people are really worried but there is absolutely no point trying to call this morning.

Everyone trying to call about the same issue achieves nothing. There will likely be a statement at some point from HMRC.

It's not a joke that you can't get through, staffing levels will be as expected for a normal day with no issues. They can schedule extra staff at peak times but not for unexpected issues.

If you do get through, please remember that the advisor you speak to can do absolutely nothing but give you whatever update they have which is probably going to be keep checking your bank or you'll be paid tomorrow.

They cannot pay you, they cannot push the payment through.

Please don't be rude to them, they can't do anything and demanding and getting aggressive won't change that it will just ruin both your mornings even more.

Your time would be better spent speaking with your bank about sorting out a temp O/D or direct debit issues and if you need gas and electric feel with your energy provider.

Absolutely agree with all of this. Whatever has happened wouldn’t have been deliberately done, and certainly wouldn’t be because of the person on the end of the phone. I’ve worked in customer service for years, there’s no magic button to fix it automatically but they’ll do everything to get it sorted asap.

I bank with monzo and usually cash mine out on a Friday at 4pm (payment due on a Monday)
not received and payment not sorted. Tried calling CB line and says there’s a technical difficulty and they cannot answer the phone.
anyone else still not received?

Thank you- yes, exactly this. I like to know what government support is available to people, especially with an election coming up. We’re not entitled to it but I support others receiving adequate help (though it doesn’t sound like much to be honest 😞).

It's a fair bit tbf it's not meant to be the sole source of a family's income there are other benefits that cover eg housing. It's just like a top up to help out.

Hmrc have put out a message to say they are working on the issue and will update later this morning.

I know there's a lot of worried people here but I do believe them when they say they are working hard on it

Well yeah they aren't just going to sit on their arse and say oh well

Call your bank and explain. They should be aware of the issue and might grant you a temporary extension to your OD to get you through the next couple of days.

Mumof212 · 03/06/2024 08:59

I have not received my child benefit payment either, I checked online and Hmrc says it’s been paid but there is nothing in my bank, I get paid every 4 weeks and this is the first time it’s not been paid . Where can I find the number to give them a ring or is there a link where I can see any updates on this situation as I can see it’s not just me having this problem

Talk to your bank, you won't be the only one. Ask for a temporary overdraft extension until the payment comes in. Alternatively, is there a food bank you can access today?

Lottiebum · 03/06/2024 09:00

My child Benefit comes every week on a Monday but Barclays always gives it to me on a Saturday. It didn’t come on the weekend so was patient waited for today and still no-show. I’ve tried calling Lynn but it just goes through all the security and then cuts me off. I always receive it without fail. I’ve had no changes either glitch on their end and they are not answering calls so I’ll wait till tomorrow but this is not okay.

Just spoke to Barclays, they have helped me out MASSIVELY! My payment was due today, normally shows on Saturday. It's confirmed to go into my bank tomorrow. Guess this will be the same for most of us?
