hi i normally receive my payments every monday for one child (4yo) i’ve received no letters or anything and had payment as normal last week. Although my payments are on mondays, i receive them saturday due to my bank, but this week it hasn’t come through and it’s not my bank as carers has come through like every other week as normal. No change of address etc and her dad wouldn’t of put a claim in and don’t think i can contact them till monday so stressed at what’s going on

New poster here. I’m with Santander and CB was due today. Nothing has been paid in. I checked my HMRC app and it says my latest CB payment is today. Tried calling them but can’t even queue, just get cut off as they’re busy. If anyone manages to get through please update thanks

SongbirdSusie · 03/06/2024 08:22

Congratulations on the success of your business! Amazing achievement!

Can understand the hurt this must have caused but I’d put it down to jealousy. Hard knowing the right approach if you did want to mention that you’ve heard about it to the content creator. I’d want to tell her too but then again it would be turned around on you I suspect.

Bethy259 · 03/06/2024 08:22

Why anyone has bothered even trying to ring is what gets me 😅

The WalesOnline article is quite laughable though. “HMRC has urged people to check their bank accounts again”. Very awkward considering a lot of people seem to have been refreshing it for the last 8 hours at least.

That's par for the course for that site and all other Reach Media shite. Every single article on their site is illiterate nonsense with a clickbait headline.

You would have thought that HMRC could have issued a statement on social media and for the main news sites like BBC and Sky News to have covered it by now though.

But obviously there's little point calling them. There's not a business in the land that's set up to deal with calls arising from every single one of their customers having the same issue on the same day.

Kayla211 · 03/06/2024 08:22

Connected though and they put phone down

I can’t even imagine the absolute carnage they’re going to have to wade through on their Monday morning!

Jadesamum · 03/06/2024 08:24

Hi Mike I bank with them too and same as you mines shows Friday but I have no payment today

Zanatdy · 03/06/2024 08:24

Zero point trying to ring, it’s a problem affecting a lot of people. They will have people on it.

You receive CB whilst employed? I have 2 jobs.

MummyRenX · 03/06/2024 08:25

I’m with Monzo & mines hasn’t gone in either! I added our second child (born at the start of May) onto our account this month so wondered if that had messed up the payments but seems to be a more common issue!

I'm fortunate enough not to have to worry about the payment being late. But I have been in the position before where it came down to pennies. There are plenty of working families who are struggling.

Erm I work and claim child benefit I think you might be a little confused lol the way I am laughing!!! 😂😂

MommyDonovan · 03/06/2024 08:27

Mine hasn’t gone in, I don’t think anyone’s been paid it.

heretodestroyyou · 03/06/2024 08:27

I understand people are really worried but there is absolutely no point trying to call this morning.

Everyone trying to call about the same issue achieves nothing. There will likely be a statement at some point from HMRC.

It's not a joke that you can't get through, staffing levels will be as expected for a normal day with no issues. They can schedule extra staff at peak times but not for unexpected issues.

If you do get through, please remember that the advisor you speak to can do absolutely nothing but give you whatever update they have which is probably going to be keep checking your bank or you'll be paid tomorrow.

They cannot pay you, they cannot push the payment through.

Please don't be rude to them, they can't do anything and demanding and getting aggressive won't change that it will just ruin both your mornings even more.

Your time would be better spent speaking with your bank about sorting out a temp O/D or direct debit issues and if you need gas and electric feel with your energy provider.

DreamingofManderley · 03/06/2024 08:28

I can normally get mine at 4pm on the Friday before (monzo). It still hasnt gone in, tried calling child benefit and they just hang up the phone.

Hoolah29 · 03/06/2024 08:28

I got through. They have said they are aware of the problem, but they have not received any guidance on this so far. From their perspective, all payments have gone out and should be received by now. They said they will escalate it and call back either later or tomorrow if payments not received.

AlishaA · 03/06/2024 08:30

I'm a full-time teacher, but I still get Child Benefit. Hope that's OK with you.

My payment came through this morning. It's monthly payment through Lloyds.
