hi i normally receive my payments every monday for one child (4yo) i’ve received no letters or anything and had payment as normal last week. Although my payments are on mondays, i receive them saturday due to my bank, but this week it hasn’t come through and it’s not my bank as carers has come through like every other week as normal. No change of address etc and her dad wouldn’t of put a claim in and don’t think i can contact them till monday so stressed at what’s going on

So call your bank and explain that it is due to the obviously widespread CB issue and ask for a temporary overdraft (increase) to cover it.

Many banks say something like 'if you put the money in by 3 pm on the same day, the payment will be made at the end of the day' and you'll not be charged. If you are charged, ask for it to be refunded.

Useful advice thanks

How much is child benefit out of interest?

Eldest or only child £25.60
Additional children £16.95 per child

(Weekly - most people paid 4 weekly)

Femmefatele123 · 03/06/2024 07:57

Well its now monday and still no payment

Exactly. Some of the comments on this thread are downright strange.

I see it now, having not really been aware of 'bots' before.

What is also strange is that this issue doesn't seem to have got a mention on Moneysaving Expert, despite that site being very hot on consumer rights. When things go wrong, people are very quick to start shouting about it.

Whether or not this is a system issue at HMRC or they've been hacked, there does seem to be a related attempt to cause fear on MN.

If you were in receipt of it you would know these payments are so precious to people no matter how much they get you would ask how much was in their bank account would you if you ain't in receipt of it you shouldn't be in this thread

Melela · 03/06/2024 07:59

Why shouldn't someone take an interest in HMRC not getting the payments out on time. Do you want people to not know what's going on?

They asked how much it is, it should not matter to them if they do not receive it

CinnamonSugar92 · 03/06/2024 08:02

Hi I’ve still not received the CB payment and I bank with Monzo. I got paid last four weeks ago as usual never had an issue before. Usually can release the payment early but not even showing as pending.

I wouldn’t let it bother you hun, it looks like the bots are out in force just putting silly messages x

Wilks6543 · 03/06/2024 08:03

Outrageous the amount of people including my self that rely on the payments to go in every 4 weeks. I have bills that come out in line with CB payment. This has to be addressed and sent to everyone by close of play today

Yup, I tried four times between 8am and 8.01am and already the lines are all busy. Doesn’t even put me in a queue. It’s going to be a fun day!

Maybe they are thinking of applying for it, maybe they used to get it and wondered if it had gone up. And even if not I don't see why it's so terrible to ask how much it is. It's good to have an understanding of the government support available.

Luna0666 · 03/06/2024 08:03

Me too :/
Might be there by afternoon, maybe _
If not i might call them, had anyone else tried to call them ??

It’s all available online I’m sure, I doubt missing payments would make somebody enquire about claiming. It is a bot posting causing worry to other people, I wasn’t trying to put down a mum sorry if it seemed that way

ByMellowFish · 03/06/2024 08:04

It clearly states on hmrc website if they really that interested in claiming but no they just want to be nosey cause they got nothing else better to do than quizz the vulnerable

The child benefit rate in this country shouldn't be a hidden secret! I'm in receipt of it. I rely on it. I don't mind telling people how much/little the government give us.

Theredoubtableskins · 03/06/2024 08:05

Mkerr · 03/06/2024 07:51

Hi, did you receive your child benefit? I was due mine today but haven't received it.

Repeated posts like this are very odd on a thread full of people already confirming that yes, there is a problem. Can mumsnet tell if they are bots?
