Is there a new thread yet? I can't find one?

Oh, and one other question … are any of the survey sites profitable or worth the time and energy? Wondering whether any would be of pocket money value to student offspring?

Prolific definitely.
On my best ever day I got £40.
DD who is a student has just signed up but been put on a waiting list.

YonderTweek · 31/01/2024 18:23

Prolific for sure. It's been on fire recently. I have been cashing out around £40-50 every couple of weeks. Even today I made around £30. It's very up and down though and depends on what time of day you're on it. I've been doing a lot of DA recently and have Prolific open in the background and I've been getting a steady stream of studies. :)

ThisisMe22 · 31/01/2024 18:34

@YonderTweek
Great thank you... Will get him to sign up for prolific.

@YonderTweek, can I grill you on DA please? What are they looking for? What sort of jobs do you get? I've ticked all the other admin boxes except for virtual PA but think I need to tick that one too despite not having done the job virtually before ... gotta start somewhere! Thanks

BecauseOfIndia · 01/02/2024 09:37

@ThisisMe22 I honestly wouldn't worry about your DA profile, the important thing is to pass the first qualification and then you will get lots of work almost straight away. If you are conscientious and work well they will offer you more qualifications that lead to higher paid work. Occasionally they'll ask if you have specific skills - such as creative writing or degree level knowledge of philosophy and if you do, this then opens more doors. I've been working for them since Oct and I really enjoy it.

YonderTweek · 01/02/2024 10:06

What @BecauseOfIndia said really. I don't think I even ticked that many things on my profile but I took time with the initial assessment and was given access to lots of tasks fairly soon. I've been doing lots of AI related tasks, like reviewing chatbot answers etc., and it's been very enjoyable. I need to take a creative writing assessment but I'm waiting for the right time when I won't be disturbed.

SlurpSlooChortle · 01/02/2024 11:30

I feel nervous to send a scan of passport or driving licence for Prolific. Did anyone else feel hesitant?

No. Prolific is super legit. It's for university academics primarily. And tbh, the fact they're asking for proof of ID only confirms their legitimacy.

SlurpSlooChortle · 01/02/2024 12:27

Thanks @BlindurErBóklausMaður Smile

Can I just share something? Do you remember when we used to do our grand totals at the end of every month? I fondly remember those days when we'd hit something like £2000 a month (or thereabouts). Feels like such a long time ago! 😅I have had such a crap time with it for like two years now, making the odd pound here and there, but my January total was around £700. And that's me only working like two weeks of it properly. It was mostly down to DA but Prolific was very very good too. I'm delighted, and motivated to keep going.

Hope everyone else had a good month, and hopefully February will be a decent one too! 🤓

BlindurErBóklausMaður · 01/02/2024 18:50

That's excellent @YonderTweek
You've motivated me for sure!

Wow that's amazing! My January total is £159.50. I did 2 1/2 weeks but mostly just finding my feet. Still waiting for DA to either reply to my emails or accept/reject my assessment. Got £45 so far for February so starting as I mean to go on.

DelilahBucket · 01/02/2024 19:20

Forgot to add, if anyone wants a free share for Trading212 let me know, I have three left. I can confirm it is legit if you're unsure.

YonderTweek · 01/02/2024 20:55

Well done @DelilahBucket ! That's a great start for February too. 😃

That's really odd that DA are keeping some people waiting. Maybe they're like potato and recruit lots of new workers in one go and then go quiet for ages? I hope you all get in soon!

ThisisMe22 · 01/02/2024 22:47

Thanks @BecauseOfIndia and @YonderTweek … will just wait and hope they send me something to do. It’s still sitting on the thanks for taking the assessment page when I log on.

Have signed up to Prolific and got DS to sign up too so hoping they get in touch at some point. Is there anywhere else that’s recommended signing up to get started and try to get a few pennies in. There’s a long list at the start of the previous thread but am not sure whether all those companies are still worth joining.

@YonderTweek congrats on your Jan income … that’s amazing. I’ve done Matched Betting/Casino for several years - the offers aren’t what they once were and I have lost so many to gubbings but remember the early days when my monthly return used to be along those lines.

arejcenencehche3uh9f3 · 01/02/2024 22:55

I think the "thanks" page on DA means you didn't get in. Mine went to that
message straight after doing the initial assessment in October so I obviously failed something. I think people who pass get more (paid) assessments and then eventually get in. I was a bit surprised as I have many years of coding and tech authoring skills.

I was also asked for an updated CV from Telus a few weeks ago, submitted it and
heard nothing. Looks as though I will have to try and get a "real" job.

ThisisMe22 · 01/02/2024 23:28

Oh blast @arejcenencehche3uh9f3 … oh well, that’s life. Onwards and upwards.

DelilahBucket · 02/02/2024 07:21

This is my DA homepage. No idea what it means but 18 days of waiting so far...

BecauseOfIndia · 02/02/2024 08:04

@DelilahBucket That is odd, I had that page for about 1 day and then an email telling me I could start work. If you're on Twitter you could try tweeting them, they seem to engage with non-workers on there i've noticed. I'm not sure there's much point in emailing support as that email address is intended for people who are already working for them. It isn't openly advertised and I can imagine they get loads of people wanting to know if they passed / failed. If you fail, they simply don't tell you.

Mine has been like that since November. According to Reddit we failed.

DelilahBucket · 02/02/2024 13:18

@BecauseOfIndia thanks I've had a look at their twitter but lots of unanswered posts asking the same thing as me. It seems they just ignore.

@AdaShelby yes I'm beginning to think I failed. What a complete waste of time 🙄. Fortunately I have enough of other things to keep me going.

ruralwanderer · 02/02/2024 13:34

Well done @YonderTweek ! That is excellent.

I reduced my hours dramatically on SS in January due to other commitments but was really pleased to net just over £290. Back to normal this month and am at £35 already with another £10-ish article still to write today.

ciderhouserules · 09/02/2024 11:14

Hi all - I don't do anything like as much/many as some of you on here! i have some Premium Bonds (£125 payout this month) and do things like YouGov, IpSos surveys, Prolific (get about £15 a month from Prolific - but i only do the quick, under-5 mins ones.) I used to use Swagbucks but got so fed up with getting through a survey, only to find that i was not needed....

I like the 'background' stuff - i used to do HuYu (shopping reciepts scanning) but that closed, now I still do Shoppix but i hear they might be closing too? My friend in the next town says they emailed her to say they didn't 'need her area' any more 🙁so I hope I'm not losing that too.

I've looked at Shopmium (looks like a lot of hassle) and things that clock your steps and pay out - Sweatcoin and the like. Any one use these?

Alloveragain3 · 09/02/2024 13:02

@ciderhouserules I do like shopmium and find there's an offer I'd use about 2 or 3 times a month.
I stick to the freebies and have got some good things like chocolates, soreen cakes, dental sticks for the dogs, little dish ready meals for my toddler....
Some weeks are quiet though and the offers aren't as good.

If anyone wants my referral code, they get a free big bag of Cadbury buttons and I get £3 credit to use:

5g5v49

You then get your own code to share and build up credit which can be used on groceries

Alloveragain3 · 09/02/2024 13:17

Oh and do you have a Shippix referral code? I'm keen to try!
