PIP

newaccountwhodis · 13/01/2023 11:38

Hi. New to the forum and PIP and am hoping some of the forum members can help me understand the claim process a little better, I applied for PIP in early December 2022. DWP told me that Capita had received my forms on December 9th. But i have not had a phone assessment scheduled yet. So i called Capita just to make sure everything was fine with my claim. They told me this morning that my claim "is in initial review" and that they "are requesting info from my medical contacts so they can do a Paper assessment". Is this a good/bad sign that my claim will be successful?

Yes i have as some of the things she said were ludicrous ( touched my hair with my left hand touched my nose with my right whats that got to do with anything and the list goes on

They are checking co-ordination I guess. Is / was your condition neurological?

mammaov3 · 30/03/2023 11:23

Does anyone know if they can txt you (award text) anytime of day or are people only getting them morning?

Sara0 · 30/03/2023 11:26

mammaov3 · 30/03/2023 11:32

Sara0 · 30/03/2023 11:37

I’m exactly the same with the 3 kids keeping me busy but still very anxious about my decision… I rang up today and they still haven’t received my nurse letter so I’m gonna just leave them to it now and wait….

Sara0 · 30/03/2023 11:38

mammaov3 · 30/03/2023 12:01

@Sara0 i can't believe they can't get hold of 1 letter of your nurse, i have a feeling im going to get a phone call for more evidence also because i didn't have much to send in as im waiting on referrals.

Sara0 · 30/03/2023 12:07

@mammaov3 she sent it back on Wednesday last week and they still haven’t received it :(

mammaov3 · 30/03/2023 14:09

I would just like to say this is 100% true, I write the reports and have advised for assistance for people and when the case manager has got the report they have changed the descriptors. We as assessors do NOT say who gets PIP and who doesn’t

I know.
There are a fair percentage of assessors who DGAF though, and who write absolute nonsense on the claimants' reports, recommending zero points.

I would like to say the lady who did my report wrote absoulute nonsense presuming things that she did not even ask me and writing about my education saying i went to university when i didnt and she didnt even mention that what has this to do with my claim and may i just ask and im not being nasty but why as an assesor are you on this group

I have to agree with this.
My report said she'd seen me "walking briskly" which was REALLY odd, as it was done over the phone.

Mine couldn't even get her lies straight, contradicting herself.

As part of my MR I pointed these out - it was only 1.5 pages long.

AprilShowers223 · 31/03/2023 08:08

Why am I not allowed to be? I was looking to see if I could help or offer advice as I know PIP is difficult. I’m sure there are assessors out there that aren’t great but not every one is like that. And what I’m getting from this group is a lot of that is from the full assessment assessors which I’m actually not a part of

Can I ask a question if you don't mind? I'm waiting my first pip decision, it seems to have been done as a paper based assessment. I had a 15 min call to clarify a few things but no other assessment apart from that. are these types of assessment becoming more common?

AprilShowers223 · 31/03/2023 08:24

Yes, we’re trying to do them more for people that are considered high risk or with certain conditions or those we’ve identified to not cope as well with the full assessment process. it’s less stressful for the claimant than the full assessment process.
