Ha ha, just realised I posted that without reading it back properly! Maybe that's why I failed....

PoseyFlump · 17/05/2023 20:56

@BecauseOfIndia you've got to laugh 😂😂

sorrynotathome · 19/05/2023 07:11

Has anyone signed up to dataannotation.tech or Connect (Cloud Research)? I just did a Prolific survey about these two websites - which felt slightly surreal!

DeegeeDee · 19/05/2023 13:18

Did the same survey and had the same thoughts @sorrynotathome!

cailingaelach · 19/05/2023 13:39

@sorrynotathome I just signed up to dataannotation.tech after seeing your post. I completed the starter assessment so just waiting to see if I passed.

PurpleFrog · 19/05/2023 17:47

@sorrynotathome I also did that Prolific survey and wondered cynically if it was a clever ploy to advertise the websites to likely participants. Let us know how you get on.

sorrynotathome · 20/05/2023 06:40

I did wonder that too @PurpleFrog ! @cailingaelach looks like you’re our guinea pig 😁

cailingaelach · 20/05/2023 11:25

I'll keep you all posted!

kpfragglesrock · 22/05/2023 16:28

Really cheesed off with potato. Had a bollocking by email today. Apparently, I've misclassified over 20 items. One or two I can understand but more than 20?! I've replied asking over what timescale.

SomersetDreams · 22/05/2023 23:31

Roamler and Shepper are still the best ways for quick cash.

That doesn't seem right Usually they catch you after just one? Then put you on watch. Definitely chase up.

Numbers are dreadful at moment. Occasional good patch but it's generally not worth sitting there.

I wonder if they have to lose any staff?

Me too ! 😆 one of them can't recall which said it didn't cover the UK.

I'm sceptical as to the veracity of what they say on the website.

But I'll still give it a go!

20! lol that's their fault for not spotting it sooner.

I wouldn't give it another thought. I bet you don't hear back from them. They're absolutely dog shit as employers.

kpfragglesrock · 23/05/2023 18:39

@Fiddie
Had a reply - it was "over a period of time"
FFS - can't be arsed with them.
I'm sure I didn't miss all the ones they said I did as some were so obvious!

I got pulled up for some that someone else got wrong with the same first name as me. I told them it wasn't me and got blanked.

How long have you been working there?

kpfragglesrock · 23/05/2023 20:26

@PorpoiseWithPurpose
Over 3 years so not a newbie x

PoseyFlump · 24/05/2023 06:32

I've been following these threads for a few years now and Potato always felt like the holy grail. Passed my test 2 years ago and heard nothing so far but after all the recent talk on here I won't be getting excited if I do.

It's such a shame for those of you who have worked hard for them. Really feel for you all.

melonraspberry · 24/05/2023 07:05

I definitely get loads wrong on potato and have never had a bollocking! It’s so random! Looking forward to being dropped next week !

Goawayquickly · 25/05/2023 09:51

I’ve been following these threads from the start and although I’ve done bits online since forever I’ve joined Prolific thanks to you lot! I’m enjoying it and I’m up £ 7 already in a day. I do ok on QMEE and I really like Attapoll having earned an easy £50 or so in the last month. If anyone wants my Attapoll code it’s mexej and you get 40p on sign up, I believe I get 20p.
I’m falling out of love with Branded because I get DQ’d almost every time. E-rewards is my favourite but it’s invitation only.

Hi everyone, me and my DB interested trying to earn some extra money but as my user name says we are new to it.

Do / how do you get taxed on what you earn ?
( we both work full time )

We have loads more questions but i dont want to clog this thread up , is there a "newbies " thread or couple of post that some one could send me a link to please .

ruralwanderer · 01/06/2023 21:07

@NewToEarningLikeThis all of the information that you need re: tax and national insurance on a second job is in this link (self employed is the bottom section): https://www.moneyhelper.org.uk/en/work/employment/pay-and-tax-when-working-in-more-than-one-job.

Please feel free to ask as many questions as you like - if you are thinking them, I'm sure somebody else is too, and there is no such thing as a silly question.

I've tallied up my income and my SS income is just over £550 for May which I'm delighted with. I also managed an $8 Intellizoom task which I'm chuffed with as it's been a long time since I've not been screened out.

June's income will be lower as I'm going to be busy for a week and have booked it off from SS to prevent stressing myself out. Hope everyone else has had a productive and profitable month! 😄

rainbowzebra05 · 01/06/2023 21:46

My may earnings were:

Etsy - £288 (about £100 in materials so £188 take home)
SS - roughly £30 (not giving exact amounts to avoid sharing who I am!)

Which isn't awful all in given I had a week's holiday and then took the end of the month off for a family event!

I'm about to go into my peak Etsy season so hoping for some good numbers over the next couple of months (fingers crossed)

NewToEarningLikeThis · 02/06/2023 05:17

@ruralwanderer
Thank you for the link , I will have a proper read this afternoon.

Then I will come back with a load of questions over the weekend 🙂

Redfuzz80 · 08/06/2023 11:44

Thanks so much for this thread. It has given me some great ideas to make some extra funds this year!

I have a few ideas, which hopefully may help some people below? Not sure if I am allowed to share referral links, so given options for non referal, but you won't get the extra bonus :(

I made about £30 from AttaPoll, which is an easy survey website to use on your phone. if you download using my link / referal, you get £0.40 to start with, and I get £0.40

Https://attapoll.app/join/yzelq

Use code yzelq

Download attapoll directly from your app store if you don't want the extra bonus.

Another app to try is Qmee. This pays £0.50 for us both. Another survey site, but is also pretty good at making a few quid

https://qm.ee/BRMJUVSFH6YXY

Download Qmee direct from the app store if you don't want the bonus.

Do reach out if you have any questions!

Fuzzy ☺️
