Welcome back everyone. As agreed on the October 2022 thread, this one will keep running until it gets too full. Apologies for the Prolific link above - no idea why it didn't work. Here it is again: app.prolific.co/studies

I'm disappointed with my total for October. There were extenuating circumstances (COVID knocked me for six, I had the kids home for a week over half term, and my car blew up so I spent a LOT of time scouring adverts and going on viewings instead of working) but my earnings of £465.42 won't please the 30 hour childcare code people so I must do better this month to average it out.

How I made my money:

S Sci - £362.12
Crisp - £67.24
Intellizoom - $18 (~£15.61)
Prolific - £20.45

As usual, Search Sciences was my best earner and my Crisp earnings came mainly from three pay per hour shifts (just couldn't handle the PPI stuff last month).

Hope everyone else had a productive month and as this is our last month to earn before Christmas, let's all kick on and support each other 💪

Thanks for the new ongoing thread, great idea!

LeSquigh · 01/11/2022 13:15

Thanks for the new thread, hoping to make some more progress this month.

PurpleFrog · 01/11/2022 15:47

Thanks for the new thread.

I was ill for a week in October so my Prolific earnings were a bit down. I have just totted them up and I made £62.27 there in October.

The payments for all my Intellizoom surveys for September came through eventually. However, after complaining that I was screened out of approximately 3 out of every 4 Intellizoom surveys in September, my acceptance rate in October was even worse. I estimate that I was thrown off around 9 out of every 10 surveys I started, and I only managed to complete two $1 surveys in the end! I'll give it a bit longer, but I must admit I am not particularly impressed by them.

Riggsisadino · 02/11/2022 01:15

This was my first month.
I made £3 on Attapoll
Applied for 3 appen projects
Did the WWW tests and waiting to hear back.
So didn't make much but think I have made a good start

ruralwanderer · 02/11/2022 07:29

@PurpleFrog have you done the tests for the $5 card sort and $8 think out loud studies on Intellizoom? That is where the money is on that platform so it's well worth doing. I get screened out of about 50% of the studies I'm invited to but the ones I do complete are worthwhile.

That's a good start @Riggsisadino - just keep plugging on and don't get disheartened if you don't see results straight away. It all takes time but it's very validating when the money starts coming in Grin

PurpleFrog · 02/11/2022 08:57

Hmm - I failed the think out loud test and haven’t plucked up the courage to try it again. Any tips?

cailingaelach · 02/11/2022 12:30

Hi, newbie posting here but I've been reading for a long time! I've been working mainly on Crisp and utest and some smaller stuff on Appen. Just took the Intellizoom test too Purplefrog and I'd say I've failed it as my camera wasn't working properly for the first few minutes.
Also had a telling off from Crisp yesterday for classifying an item wrong, it's knocked my confidence tbh.

username00 · 02/11/2022 13:38

Has anyone tried selling on Amazon FBA? I've been researching it for a while but not sure whether to go for it or not

ruralwanderer · 02/11/2022 15:59

@PurpleFrog just try again and talk constantly. Doesn't matter what you say really so long as you keep the dialogue flowing. Discuss what you like and don't like, things that bother you and if something seems out of place, tell them. It's straightforward once you get the hang of it and easy money as most take 5-10 minutes max and pay $8.

@cailingaelach don't worry too much, it's easily done and all of their emails feel like a telling off, even when they class them as "training". Just take note of it and don't be afraid to use the Unsure button if something isn't straightforward (remember to email for "feedback and advice").

Hi all,

Newbie here. I've just tried to join prolific but it says there's a waiting list. Does anyone know how long it takes to get on? I am a newbie money saver, getting ready for maternity leave! any guidance much appreciated :)

Geamhradh · 02/11/2022 16:00

Thanks for new thread.
A whole £14 on Prolific in October. And £12 of that was on one day 🤣

ruralwanderer · 02/11/2022 16:05

@Geamhradh if only that could be every day! Grin

Just to add YLive is a great survey site if they are currently accepting - takes a long time to cash out but I like their surveys and format and they pay £1 for every 5 minutes

EarthSwallowMeWhole · 02/11/2022 19:40

Completely clueless in all these so I have a couple of questions:

  1. Do you have to declare any earnings? I work full time for min. wage and pay tax. I was wondering if I would have to get taxed on any earnings from these too?
  2. OP, you mentioned your best earner is Search Sciences, I couldn't see a link in the OP for it. What is that if you don't mind me asking?
lookthisway · 02/11/2022 20:10

Regarding tax, yes you would have to declare it if you earn over £1000 a year.

PurpleFrog · 02/11/2022 20:50

@ruralwanderer Thanks for that. I'll try it again in the next few days.

Geamhradh · 02/11/2022 20:55

@ruralwanderer ain't that the truth! They get a bit like a fastest finger test as well, one pops up, I click, and it's already full. Pffft.

ruralwanderer · 02/11/2022 20:56

@EarthSwallowMeWhole this is the link for Search Sciences: https://www.searchsciences.co.uk/index.asp - it is writing internet content to specific briefs and to specific deadlines. It's more of a "proper" job than a sideline as it can be quite labour intensive but I really enjoy it and average £10 an hour from it.

OP posts:
PurpleFrog · 02/11/2022 21:13

@ruralwanderer @Geamhradh As far as I can see there are 2 groups of surveys posted on Prolific. One is the main "launch" with lots of spaces available, then there are ones that are posted with just a few spaces, probably because some of the original people who accepted it have not finished it, or failed the attention checks. I have had some success at getting on the ones with just a couple of spaces, so it is worth trying, although sometimes I have clicked one without reading it properly and had to drop out because I didn't actually meet the criteria.

QueenConsort · 03/11/2022 09:01

I have just registered for Intellizoom, does anyone know any other companies similar to this one?

QueenConsort · 03/11/2022 09:02

With Crisp I also can't see where to register, just jobs that are on offer, any ideas?

ruralwanderer · 03/11/2022 12:26

@QueenConsort Testapic is similar and this is the link to sign up for Crisp: https://crispthinking.typeform.com/to/fSclfS
