I’m not sure I can be bothered to start potatoes this month. Do they pay if you don’t meet the minimum? Shall I just let them kick me off , I can’t even be bothered to email them, it’s so rubbish there. I only began a year ago.

melonraspberry · 04/03/2023 09:52

All I have left now is prolific which brings me in £30-40 a month, which is worth it as it’s not time intensive unlike potatoes . Also get surveys first thing which is my available time , and potatoes is no good at that time anymore.

YonderTweek · 04/03/2023 16:54

Hello all! Hope you're doing ok. Just popping in to get enthusiastic about earning money again. Haha. I did these threads for about two years and made a decent living but the last year or so has been DIRE. I'm literally just on Prolific and A**r and I really need to get back into earning. Is it really this dry everywhere? Ap has been depressingly slow for ages now, and even Intellizoom and other old earners are pretty quiet. Sad

I have recently started learning about MB and it just seems a hassle. I'm going to keep trying as I need to do something, but I would prefer to find actual project work again.

rainbowzebra05 · 05/03/2023 11:51

I've still had nothing back from search sciences. Wondering if it was something to do with the areas of interest you list. There was no guidance to tailor them so thinking I might have gone wrong there. Not sure if it's worth reapplying or not, but I wouldn't know any better how to tailor answers now than I did originally!

I'm £200 a month away from being able to leave the day job. Losing hope that it's possible from home now that the likes of potato seem to be dying!

ruralwanderer · 05/03/2023 11:55

It was over 2 years from applying to starting Search Sciences for me. When I got the email I actually had to search my archived emails for confirmation that I'd applied as I'd forgotten all about it 🙈

Some on here have been picked up really fast but I think a lot depends on the topics you are comfortable writing about and whether there's enough work in that particular field to warrant taking on more writers. Hopefully you'll hear back soon 🤞

kathcake21 · 05/03/2023 19:43

If anyone wants to earn a bit extra Influence is a great app. You complete video surveys which last a max of 1 minute and you can earn a minimum of 25p. Way more fun then traditional surveys. Sometimes you can earn more through special campaigns that are offered through the mini surveys. You can cash out once you hit £10 and i've earned over £100 already :). I wrote a bit more on my blog- lots of other money makers there too.

Hi, Long-term lurker here...has anyone else recently had trouble with overdue payments from UserTesting?

They're supposed to pay in 7 days and are usually very good, but I've got twelve test payments outstanding, some from up to a month ago and support aren't answering my queries so far. Thanks.

Kirstie3803 · 06/03/2023 12:24

I agree AI for single voice, spoken very clearly, in English or American is just about ok if you have time to proofread and check it afterwards. For our clients at www.voicenotes.co.uk, it isn't good enough - we have one transcriptionist then another proofreader checking the audio files to make sure they are accurate.

Just following up on this in case it's helpful for someone - I had to click 'contact support' on one supposedly-completed test in order to send them a long list of overdue and unprocessed tests. Twice. Then they eventually replied and all payments are now being processed.

Apparently, the problem was down to the chrome plugin they use 🤷

I'm just in the process of signing up and received an FAQ that includes this:

- Geographical / regional guides
- Fashion and clothing - womens
- Fashion and clothing - mens
- Online gaming - Poker, Roulette
- Gadgets and technology
- Consumer white and brown goods
- Interiors, furnishing and interior design
- DIY
- Pets and animals
- Food and drink
- Product reviews
- Finance
- Bingo
..I'm a bit surprised they want me to sign up as I didn't mention any of these when I applied!

TheWhiteDoor · 10/03/2023 18:32

Thanks, that’s handy. I’m keen to give it a try but it doesn’t seem like the highest payer, reckon it’ll be about 10 per hour which isn’t that great. Will try and see tho.

8DPWoah · 10/03/2023 20:36

I will say with SS I don't think I've had many things that linked to my profile! It's not a problem though as you do get enough of a brief and source for it to be manageable. It's not massively well paid but when compared with the slog of transcription (and the hourly rate, actually) for example it has a massive advantage in that it's quite enjoyable to do, most of the time.

TheWhiteDoor · 10/03/2023 20:50

Cool I’ll give SS a try then. No harm in giving it a bash.

Have been doing well with Intellizoom so far this month, so I’m quite pleased about that. Can’t seem to get registered with prolific, been on their wait list for ages. Tried Appen but it’s slim pickings!! Had 1 job on there it was interesting and paid well for what it was but there’s just no new jobs coming up
on it now

ciderhouserules · 14/03/2023 12:06

Hi - I'm a long-time lurker, and very 'minor' in the monthly payout game compared to lots of you!

I work part time OOH as well, but the few little bits I do at home are very valuable (to me) - I use Shoppix (£20 every 5 months or so) and used to use HuYu but htey are closing down - I got £5 recently (after about 2-3 months) but that will be the last. Sad Anyone use any other shopping-scanning sites?

I use Prolific, but only on the days I don't work, so I can sit on the laptop all morning! I get about £20 per month.
I also do IpSos surverys (though none for ages) maybe £10 per 3 months, and youGov, get £50 every 9months or so Hmm
I also am lucky enough to live somewhere where parking is sought after, so in summer I can make a good £100 pm renting out my space on that.

I've looked at other sites - just joined Swagbucks.

Any other sites out there for someone dipping in and out? I've checked out the sites mentioned on here, but they've either got 2* reviews, or they are too specialised for me.

Shufflebumnessie · 14/03/2023 14:06

Apologies if this isn't permitted on here but I was just wondering if anyone else is having issues with surveys on Prolific in the last couple of days? There are 4 surveys that I've completed and they have provided me with a completion code. However, when I return to the Studies homepage the survey is still showing as reserved for me (with the timer ticking down). I can't leave / get out of the survey and then it shows up in my submissions as 'Timed out' so I don't get paid for them. I've message a couple of the researchers with the completion codes but not heard back. It's getting frustrating now. Is anyone else experiencing this, or is it a glitch with my account?

PurpleFrog · 14/03/2023 15:31

@Shufflebumnessie Some studies in Prolific require you to click the "Complete study" button and paste in the completion code manually. Could that be the issue?
