@BecauseOfIndia not at the moment - my relatively long running one has just been paused for a couple of months and I have nothing else - there is barely anything to apply for either and even the FB surveys seem to have stopped.

I did get through to the chat on a couple of projects this year, but never went that extra stage to be offered production and then got removed which was pretty frustrating.

BecauseOfIndia · 17/01/2023 15:53

@justalittlebitextra Same as me then, I've been added to the chat for at least 4 projects - including the FB surveys, but have never received any work 😕I wonder if it is just that there are so many people working for them now?

Have you signed upto Super?

Sign up to Super here and use code Sharon-JQ23 to get an extra £10 cashback on your first purchase (app is like topcashback where you earn cashback on purchases). Cashback becomes available the next day.

Minimum £10 spend but if you spend £10 and if you get free delivery/free click and collect the purchase will be FREE. Just click on the one you want and it’ll direct you to the website on the app.

Make sure you use code otherwise you’ll only get £5 cashback.

Thank you to anyone who uses my referral 😀

@ruralwanderer I applied for Crisp but didn’t hear anything, unfortunately.

I like the sound of the Search Sciences job but I can’t get the link to load. It says it is an unsafe link and after a couple of goes, I just got the ‘bad gateway’ message. Does it load ok for you at the moment?

Are you able to provide any more info on how much you’re expected to write and whether everyone gets the same rate of pay, or do you get graded and paid according to your grade?

Geamhradh · 18/01/2023 06:04

@BecauseOfIndia Same here. 15 processes "in progress" but nothing. Inbox full of A emails saying "we have a project you might be interested in" then they're all on A China or want you making videos while skateboarding and holding 2 watermelons etc. I never resolved the issue with the one I was "onboarded" to either. Kept raising tickets asking why it wouldn't accept me, kept getting emails asking for my availability (which I answered) it just seemed like there was no joined up communication so I binned it.

I've been "invited" to do the proofreading test for TN. Will try and do that this morning.

ruralwanderer · 18/01/2023 07:50

@Bobsyouruncleand this is the link for SSci - searchsciences.co/ - they migrated to a new server over the weekend so the old site might be throwing up errors (although it's just auto-diverting me). I'll drop you a PM if that's OK Smile

Has anyone found that ssci haven't gotten back to them after applying? Not sure how long I need to give it, I applied what feels like ages ago and haven't heard anything from them so not sure if I've been rejected or missed, or just need to be more patient!

BecauseOfIndia · 18/01/2023 08:37

@Geamhradh Good luck - I don't seem to have any projects available to me beginning with T.... I hope it comes to something and isn't just another loose end.

I've just applied to a load of linguistics ones even though I know nothing about linguistics - desperate times!

The T is Take Note, just done the test. Seemed ok, but we shall see.
My wanky A project begins with an S and sounds vaguely Scandinavian, but I'm not even going to raise any more tickets because if they can't answer a simple query, then they're probably going to be useless during the actual project.
I've applied to all the linguistics ones, a new one popped up this morning. I've done a few of them in the good old busy Ap days.

@rainbowzebra05 , I applied to SSci about 6 months ago and haven't heard anything. They just haven't realised how perfect I'd be 😂

JimJimJim · 18/01/2023 09:26

Is anyone doing the N33vo customer/agent phone calls? They were a great earner back a couple of years ago. Have been invited to join but they have been awful at kicking me off jobs and not paying so not sure I've got the confidence in them to work and then actually get paid.

Februarycat · 18/01/2023 12:19

I did the Take Note test last week, thought I had done alright but got an e mail to say had failed .

ruralwanderer · 18/01/2023 12:27

I applied to SSci years ago and had actually forgotten about it when I was invited to start work last March. So glad they did get in touch though as it's my main earner now - definitely worth the wait Grin

@JimJimJim I will be starting later today as the caller. We should have a code word we can use !

melonraspberry · 18/01/2023 15:48

I’m still plugging away trying to reach the minimum on potatoes. Today I had the joy of seeing a willy!

Fab! Annoying that they changed the times as I've got the kids now between 5 and 9 and I can't guarantee a silent environment! Might speak to you later! Have you done any yet?

Long time follower of these threads, not been on in a while but my lord havent things changed. It all seems miserable here compared to previous years and im sorry to say but I can see this thread becoming a thing of the past. Hardly anyone posts and work across all avenues seem to be non existent or drying up. There used to be a lot of life over this way and its a shame to see when this was a place of guidance and help to so many. Sign of the times I suppose but yeah what a shame

Sadly I do agree. I am hoping potato picks up a bit but so far 2023 has been very quiet on the platform and it is hard to make a decent amount without spending the whole day sitting and waiting.

ruralwanderer · 19/01/2023 16:32

I think these threads were a lifeline to people in 2020 who had lost their jobs or been furloughed during COVID and now many people are back to "real" jobs and the internet work is harder to make good money from.

There are still people on this thread who are doing really well from it although I think we would all agree that it's harder now than it used to be. I remember old threads where posters were regularly reporting earnings of over £1000 a month which is pretty unusual now.

When I first started on Potatoes, I was easily making £10 an hour on the PPI work and now I'm lucky to break £3 an hour so only work the pay per hour shifts when I can get them.

It would be great if there are people lurking who are doing well with these platforms or have found a lucrative little earner that they would like to talk about 🙏

@JimJimJim ...I ve had a look at the script for the calls. Bloody hell...complicated or what. NOthing like what it was where you pretended you were calling from Bt to see if their phone line was working etc. Not sure if I want to do this esp as the pay is a lot less than it was

Yes I agree - I tried to copy the tables of what you were supposed to ask/say for each scenario into a word document but it didn't work and I've no confidence in what on earth we are meant to be talking about! I still haven't done any - how about you?

8DPWoah · 19/01/2023 17:03

I had a go at the QA task as well and also failed, I feel a bit better now! I think with transcription it's definitely best to stick to one platform as they all have slightly different guidelines.

WWW is a bit busier again but it feels like the ethos has changed there a little over the last few months, can't put my finger on it but something has changed a bit.

I've not managed to make much on SSci but have had no issues doing what I have had, I don't think they get much business in areas that I know enough about to write about is all.

App is like a barren wasteland for me at present 😂 I've signed up to the other company that does all that sort of thing as I'm not active on App and worried about non-competes any more!

Saying that tonight's main job is to do my very first tax self-assessment 😬

Nope..first one was I am supposed to be a convincing HR specialist taking about B2B stuff and I just thought "Whaaat"??? I'm going to sound daft as I won't have a clue and will probably start talking about my cats instead

0htooooodles · 19/01/2023 19:51

I still lurk, but don't post much. I will always be super thankful to these threads as I was in a predicament with work, started with potato (back when you could make good money). With the experience I gained I managed to secure the Job(s) I have now, that allow me to not only work from home but to also get a full time wage.

melonraspberry · 20/01/2023 06:52

Doesn’t potatoes go up and down? I’m hoping so, trying to stay on it hoping it will get going a bit in future months!

Next year I’m going to keep my earnings below £1k so I don’t have to do a tax return, now that shouldn’t be a problem!
