I've just been invited to possibly the weirdest App project ever - agreeing to be filmed sitting in a stationary car in Exeter. The pay is amazing!! I might go for it, except that it sounds like a joke. Anyone else been offered something similar?

ruralwanderer · 20/01/2023 09:56

@BecauseOfIndia you just prompted me to reactivate my Appen account to see if I had that project listed and I don't. I reckon you should apply and report back Grin

Yes! I've been invited to that one as well. As I don't live anywhere near Exeter and it would probably cost me not far off what they are paying to get there, I think I'll give it a miss.

It is so weirdly specific.

justalittlebitextra · 20/01/2023 11:25

@RoamSeeker - it's on the Appen platform - it will be listed under All Projects if you are eligible to apply for it.

How funny - if you don't live nearby! I thought maybe they would be doing it in lots of different cities. Exeter seems an odd choice.

@RoamSeeker I don't think I can share it. It begins with P.

I haven't been on here for a while but I still lurk. I joined this thread in 2019 and found it really helpful at a difficult point in my life. I am still working on Yu on Appen which is a miracle. I've been there a year now and thought I would never last. It is still very scary though in terms of reviews, etc.
I was also quite busy with the At project on Appen in November and December. I did earn over £1000 in November and December. January though is very quiet. At on Appen has ended for me and Yu on Appen has low task volume so far this month.
I packed in my maps project with LB/Telus as I found it tedious and couldn't put enough effort in to that and Yu so decided it better to ditch it.
I am hoping that things pick up for us all soon.

I got that one as well. So weird, as I’m nowhere near.

slow month for me this far, as my RL job has been super busy and I need to focus on that for now. Trying to get the minimum potatoes and pick up a few Prolific and Intellizoom things.

Geamhradh · 21/01/2023 12:45

How funny (Exeter)
I have one needing someone to go and do some stuff in an office in Washington DC. (I'm in the south of Italy)
I have been moved onto the next stage of TN proofreading, though the email says it might be some time before they recontact me for the next bit.

Aniaa · 23/01/2023 17:08

Hello everyone! I'm new to this thread. Thank you for sharing all your links and experiences. A few were new to me, but I haven't managed to get in to any of these websites yet - seems to be normal, unfortunately. I thought I'd share some of my ways to get some extra money too, in case someone is interested.

  1. Definitely Appen is the best project site, they pay on time but it is SO hard to get into any project
  2. OneForma - similar to Appen, but more buggy and I had some issues with payments. Nice, modern interface though.
  3. Shop and scan programme - a really good way to earn some shopping vouchers throughout the year for very little effort
  4. Clickworker - I tried it but I'm very much on the fence, is anyone able to actually make money there? It seems to be pennies only...
  5. Nielsen computer panel - another way to get some shopping vouchers
  6. Apps that are a nice bonus for little effort - Mistplay, Shoppix, Huyu

Generally I try to use as many of these "little" project as possible. I figured that if I have 8-10 of projects that pay 10-20 quid a month, they'd all add up to a nice amount each month.

Have you got any more of projects I could sign up to?

Good luck :)

ruralwanderer · 24/01/2023 08:08

Welcome @Aniaa , it's great to have you on board. I have up on Clickworker a long while ago as I found it impossible to make any proper money from it. Have you tried Intellizoom and Prolific yet?

OP posts:
SlurpSlooChortle · 24/01/2023 09:59

I signed up to Prolific recently. Is it hit and miss with how long you would be on the waitlist for?

ruralwanderer · 24/01/2023 11:18

Unfortunately so - it seems to depend on what demographics they're short of at any particular time. Hopefully you won't be waiting long.

Thanks @ruralwanderer
I've been on Qmee for a while and wanted to try and increase what I'm doing.

Vicky1110 · 26/01/2023 07:47

Hello, long time follower on these posts. I'm just starting to look at joining sites like these (I know probably not the best time) but I'm just wondering can you work for Appen, Neevo, Clickworker, other sites like these all at the same time? Thanks!

DeegeeDee · 26/01/2023 10:56

Hi @Vicky1110 yes you can. There are some platforms that have similar jobs but that seems few and far between these days. Sign up for everything as it all takes time.

My question to the potato crowd, anyone had their invoice rejected for not having your name on it? I have twice but the 2nd time I added my name in two places. And in checking previous invoices, I didn't have my name but got paid anyway. A head scratcher.

howfartospar · 26/01/2023 20:06

I had an email from Ap*n stating that I would be paid at the beginning of January at the latest. I've still not been paid—does anyone know how I can take it up with them or offer any advice please?

WoWsers16 · 26/01/2023 23:03

Loving the cheddar cashback app! Can get cashback on stores like co-op, Tesco, sainsburys, Starbucks etc.... also does it directly so don't have to worry about syncing!!

Did it appear on your invoice? Did you submit your invoice on time? If so, you can contact support by going to Help and then Submit a Ticket.

Baby89 · 27/01/2023 12:41

Hi all , anyone know what’s happening with appen Facebook surveys , I only do one but it’s not been sent to me since start of new year. Thanks

Claudiawinklemansfringe · 27/01/2023 12:51

Hi @Baby89 , I wondered too so had a look on the Chat for that project and someone's posted that it finished on 31/12. Shame as it was actually enjoyable and regular work!

Bobsyouruncleand · 27/01/2023 17:26

Did anyone attempt the robot task on Clickworker today and have issues with it not generating the codes for the other website? Didn’t know if it was just me, but really frustrating. Raised a ticket but heard nothing.
