ruralwanderer · 01/07/2022 08:02

I can't believe we're already more than halfway through the year. I hope those of you that are established £10 a Day-ers are still doing well, keeping motivated and chasing the £££s. Welcome to all the newbies - hopefully these threads will help you as much as they've helped me and many others.

For the newbies - I'd recommend grabbing a cup of tea and reading back through the previous threads before you sign up for anything. Most of your questions will have already been answered and you'll hit the ground running if you've already got an idea what this is all about.

@8DPWoah, it varies but the latest it's been for me was the 10th of the month. I usually start checking from the 5th. Hope this helps :)

Cool thank you @ruralwanderer just wanted to make sure I hadn't missed it or put the wrong details in or something silly like that, will get used to the routine I'm sure! Handy having App paying mid month and WWW at the end so if SS pay near the beginning that's even better!

rhij86 · 06/07/2022 15:43

Can anyone tell me a bit more about search science? I've applied but going in totally blind!

stillherenow · 06/07/2022 16:46

I think you either love it or hate it. I dropped out of it recently, it wasn't for me, so presumably there will be space ! I just found it very low paid for the effort and I didn't like having deadlines, I prefer to drop in and out of potatoes when my day job allows . The guy who runs it is nice though and I'm grateful to @ruralwanderer for sharing it .

BecauseOfIndia · 07/07/2022 10:29

@stillherenow I felt exactly the same and I dropped out as well, it made me appreciate potato - which is a feat!

WizardOfAus · 07/07/2022 13:49

Adelais · 01/07/2022 13:08

I had my best month on potato for June earning just over £800 :). I expect July earnings to be much lower though with the school holidays and us going on holiday.

I earned £800 in June, too. I was so impressed.
This month is turning out to be fairly dire, though. It looks like they've lost a major client which used to bring in huge volumes of content.

superpinkgirl · 07/07/2022 15:06

Hi everyone, has A*ur happened yet this month? I am not sure if I have just not been picked again!

Oh where did you hear that? It does feel like things are quieter no matter what time you log on with a lot of fetching.

LJAKS · 07/07/2022 17:41

I'm struggling tbh. Heard nothing back from revolut, all the other sites I signed up to do task work I've had absolutely nothing from. Prolific im on the wait list so will likely remain there for years to come. The only place I've found any success is in the QMee app ( qm.ee/F04EAEA4 ) where I'm at around £140 just from surveys so that helps but I'm on maternity leave so it's really not cutting it now!

0htooooodles · 07/07/2022 19:29

@WizardOfAus please tell me they lost the big cheese..? I do think it's on the downhill and am surprised they've managed to keep clients tbh.

ruralwanderer · 07/07/2022 19:55

@rhij86 I'm one that loves it, it feels like a proper job, with deadlines, quality control and communication. I've been doing it for about 4 months now and last night I did a £24 brief which took 1 hour 48 minutes which works out at a reasonable hourly rate considering I didn't have to leave home.

OP posts:
PorpoiseWithPurpose · 07/07/2022 20:26

@WizardOfAus i noticed that, too.
there’s definitely been a departure. ✈️
The main queues seem slower for it.
Unless they’ve put the client’s content in another private queue?

SomersetDreams · 07/07/2022 22:49

Anyone have a referral code for Attapoll?
Thanks

8DPWoah · 07/07/2022 23:51

I have to say I'm quite happy with SSci although I groan inwardly at every batch of the tiny ones to be fair I can do them at a rate of £10 an hour if not a shade more which I think is fair enough for what it is. The communication is really good and the whole thing is nice and straightforward. I've not earned that much doing it so far but for me it sits nicely in a gap and I'd be happy doing more work for them, based on how it's been for me so far.

Aerish · 08/07/2022 06:53

@SomersetDreams

I have a referral code

attapoll.app/join/qwdqr

I think you get 40p :)

Today has been very slow. Hardly worth it. I really hope it picks up soon.

WizardOfAus · 08/07/2022 17:55

@0htooooodles Not the big cheese....@PorpoiseWithPurpose gave a cryptic clue above.

8DPWoah · 08/07/2022 21:50

Anyone on these threads that hasn't tried Appen yet (link on first post) I had an email today that they are actively looking to recruit to the main social media survey, which when you login is the project with a marine mammal in its name. I've never had that before and I think most of us that do work with them probably started with the surveys, so it's worth a look! Not a big job but it could be a gateway thing and a good way to get used to how that platform works.

SomersetDreams · 09/07/2022 00:40

thanks :)

stillherenow · 09/07/2022 07:58

@8DPWoah I had that too but I'm no longer getting invited to the survey myself! I think I'll raise a ticket about it

Tobermoraythistle · 09/07/2022 10:09

If anyone hasn't signed up to app*n yet,i have a referral code where I think we both get $25 when you join.
connect.appen.com/qrp/public/jobs?uref=39b4327691130026b95c8f1d645fb6

Spirogyra · 09/07/2022 13:32

I'm glad Porpoise gave that clue, I was wondering who it was, as have not been on there much recently. I will miss them as the content was all in english which is better than having to read 2 poor translations. Did have a slightly panicked moment thinking it might have been 'the big cheese', if they were ever lost it would make a huge difference.
They are certainly sticking to doing no surges, have only been on 2 or 3 fairly short onew since the announcment which must have been over a month ago, and now even NM2 shifts are rare at the moment, unless you work in the middle of the night!

stillherenow · 09/07/2022 22:27

I can't think who the big cheese is!
Will have to do some potatoes tomorrow and work it out !

AdaShelby · 11/07/2022 08:31

That's a big account to lose on Crisp.

rhij86 · 11/07/2022 11:01

Thanks all for the replies RE searchsci. I've applied but heard nothing, how long did it take for you?

RE the potato client - I'm on the 'other' shift work and haven't noticed any new/recent shifts into those queues, so perhaps lost altogether.
