MLM Bot Watch 69 - the gift that keeps on giving all year round!

Welcome to place where we dive into the murky depths of Multilevel Marketing (MLM), Network Marketing, Direct Sales, Social Selling (or whatever you want to call those dodgy product-based pyramid schemes) and dredge up the dirty lies bots tell to rope in their victims. (Clue: MLM is never “... an amaaaaaaayyyyyzzzing opportunity that I think you’d be great at, hun!”)

This is where we discuss certain fibbing hun bots who pretend to be entrepreneurs (they’re not, they’re just playing shop) who brag on social media about unlimited wealth, multiple six figure salaries, residual income, willable businesses, or just making a couple of hundred quid in those nooks and crannies of time. The truth is that most people who get roped into these schemes on the back of false promises lose money and often get into debt.

We’re onto bots who are held up by their particular MLM as running outstandingly successful businesses even though they’re bankrupt or are directors of insolvent companies. We know about bots who bought their position high up the pyramid, and those who con people with mindset coaching programmes. We also keep an eye on the plain old Billy Bullshitters who claim to be making six figures and describe themselves as “debt free” even though their accounts on Companies House show a very different story.

Will 2022 be the year of reckoning for MLMs and fibbing bots? Let’s hope so. Grin

Overtime, holidays, sick pay and benefits are all very well but do you get to wear a sash and jiggle about in a cold tent when you hit a milestone? Grin

I expect I could if I really wanted to 😂😂 I got made team leader in January maybe I should wear a sash to celebrate?

As an aside there was talk of a store Christmas meal where the manager wanted exclusive use so he could give a speech etc. it didn’t come off because of Covid (thank god) but lots of us said we weren’t going to go and listen to his bollox if we had to pay for ourselves 😂😂 which put me in mind of the success days.

Am I making a sensible point there or am I needlessly waffling?

WellThatsATurnipForTheBooks · 08/03/2022 10:12

We do have a speech at our Xmas meal (and other regular staff meals through the year) but the speech is only 10 mins or so thanking everyone for their hard work , updating everyone on developments within the organisation etc.

Meal is free and it's in paid work time , so not in our own time.

Plus nobody has to walk up on a stage and parade in front of their colleagues like a right tit ..... "a round of applause and a whoop whoop for Dawn from Accounts please as she's passed her Tax and Compliance module"

But how can you possibly cope without your boss or colleague telling their rags to riches story, their emotive ‘why’ - all about their motivation to join the company etc??

True, I am not sure how I ever managed to work without seeing my managers payslip, bonus cheque, giant house and car?
Spongebobette · 08/03/2022 12:31

And the training which consists of:
Showing off and boasting by your upline
Top tips - contact everyone you know!
Use social media to brand yourself (don’t forget to buy followers!)
If you aren’t making money say you have ‘grown in confidence’

HouseofHolbein · 08/03/2022 12:57

Our department meal was a failure in so many ways… no speeches or inspirational talks or showing off our latest pay slips just eating drinking and laughing lots 👍

ArbunneHun · 08/03/2022 13:00

coughs politely

Country manager is running through the different CB qualifier levels… Yawn, Castle & Man Bot are all 2.5k qualified. Cannot believe Yawn is at the same level as Castle! What a comedown for Castle and Man!

ArbunneHun · 08/03/2022 13:02

Oh & Lanzabot is in that same cohort. Yawn must be PREEEEEENING Grin

fromdownwest · 08/03/2022 13:17

Ha ha - no wonder castle was quiet!

Spongebobette · 08/03/2022 13:59

Ooh Yawn has overtaken her BFF

when you see all the women Yawn has attracted in and bled dry, it’s upsetting

Spongebobette · 08/03/2022 14:02

I see Uber has her mum sorted out and her sister too - both will receive cheques
Clever stacking

Spongebobette · 08/03/2022 14:04

Wonder if the revenue will seize ex JL bot’s cheque….

Twentytwentyhindsight · 08/03/2022 14:57

The liquidator was made aware of ex JL/insolvency bot being due a cheque last year, but the sum was never transferred over to pay the creditors (mainly HMRC)...

ArbunneHun · 08/03/2022 15:05

Only Uber at 5k & only Bloodsucker at 7.5k

Very, very poor show by the UK.

Cannot wait to see the value of the cheques. If any of them share them.

definitelynotabot · 08/03/2022 15:24

I can't remember how the Global Rally qualification levels translate to the CB cheque levels

CB has 3 levels, Bloodsucker is always Level 3, Uber used to be. Wonder how it will look this year? I think it has to do with how many Dow line you have at lower levels, ie fought at level 1 you get level 2 etc , but I am very hazy. Anyone know?

definitelynotabot · 08/03/2022 15:24

*enough - not fought!!

fromdownwest · 08/03/2022 16:13

I wonder if Yawn will put on some training for Castle. That would be excellent Social Media content

definitelynotabot · 08/03/2022 17:55

Yawn and Castle ... are they related, team-wise? I think they are both under Uber but is one under the other at all?

Twentytwentyhindsight · 08/03/2022 18:49

Castle's immediate upline is Rarebot, then Uber. I think Yawn is one of Uber's direct minions.

Spongebobette · 08/03/2022 19:14

Where on earth is Welsh Rarebot? Nowhere to be seen on the qualification levels

WellThatsATurnipForTheBooks · 08/03/2022 20:15

Maybe that's why she's hidden/deleted most of her Facebook posts

Invasionofthegutsnatchers · 08/03/2022 21:17

Ah so Castle's poor performance has directly affected Rarebot.

definitelynotabot · 08/03/2022 21:53

@Invasionofthegutsnatchers

Ah so Castle's poor performance has directly affected Rarebot.
I am guessing that Rarebot has one "star" downline then. Dangerous position having your eggs in one basket.

My old upline only seems to appear in the rankings when her "star" is being active. They either both appear or neither do.

It is a precarious business.

It shouldn't be though, you just recruit a couple of people each month, show them how to do the same, everyone sells a couple of CCs .... nooks and crannies etc.

You would think after all these years, Rarebot etc would know how to do it Grin
