Couldn't see a December thread so thought I'd start one. Last chance to earn some extra pennies in 2021, hope it's a good month for everybody (for profit and festivities!) Smile

Links copied over from last thread. Welcome back to those who have joined in before and hello to any newbies that want to jump on board - if you have any questions fire away and someone will hopefully be able to help!

@Buster27 ahh ok thanks. I'm new to this... been accepted on to some projects but they are quite difficult so I haven't actually completed any yet🙈

LoLo2020 · 07/12/2021 22:17

November wasn't too bad, about £200 and I'm waiting for an additional payment which should be the same for January. Tried transcribing on app but was so slow it wasn't worth my time and effort! So I'm jobless again bar the usual surveys and some ad hoc, one off payment jobs

Keepgoing88 · 07/12/2021 22:25

What is this **am that people are referring to?

MarigoldMoonStone · 07/12/2021 22:38

@Keepgoing88
Answering your earlier question sometimes you get accepted onto projects but it takes longer to actually get access, await further emails which usually have links.

Am** is a project on Appen

ruralwanderer · 08/12/2021 07:48

8 items on Am** and only 1 tat item from overseas which probably (hopefully) won't come so I can claim a refund from Paypal. Went slightly over budget on one item (my calculations must have been wrong as I thought I was 32p under budget) but it was something I was going to buy anyway so if they only reimburse me up to within £5 of the value then it's still a fab buy Grin

Haven't done too well with earning though due to constantly poorly children underfoot! Both have had chickenpox and now they've finally recovered from that, the eldest is home with a cough (not COVID - he's had 2 PCR tests) that is keeping everyone awake all night. Need to do better in the New Year as at the moment I'm only just scraping the minimum on Potatoes and I don't want to get kicked off!

Redcrayons · 08/12/2021 08:30

Reasonable round in Amur for me for a change.
7 in tool and 3 skips
Woodwork toolset from China, no idea what I’m going to do with it
A fancy Christmas gift bag which will make the rest of my Aldi wrapping paper look a bit shoddy
A candle gift set, which looks nice, so present for me
A pricey hoodie, which would normally be a return but will be a present for DS

MarigoldMoonStone · 08/12/2021 08:38

My am** purchases were
Gaming headset
Dumbbells
L’Oréal wonder water
A mirror cabinet (from china I think so…)
Phone case
Probiotics
1 skip
So not too bad all in all :)

Tinging · 08/12/2021 09:17

Much better am* for me this month, no rubbish from China at all! I got:
Expensive floor steamer
Gold necklace for me
Nice bedding from well known shop
Trendy plant pot basket thing
A single stepping stone-somewhat less useful Confused

Gatekeeper · 08/12/2021 13:47

as far as I am aware, if you go over the $150 budget they won't give you any of it- not a case of them paying up to the $150 & you cover the balance

whysotriggered · 08/12/2021 13:58

@gatekeeper From my reading of the guidelines, I agree, yes if you go over $150 budget then they do not refund anything.

You have to use the exchange rate listed on their website rather than the commercial one.

Gatekeeper · 08/12/2021 14:03

that was for @ruralwanderer

Buster27 · 08/12/2021 14:42

Yeah I've seen a couple of people asking about it in the chat too, they've been told if you purchase something over $150 you won't get any amount refunded for that product.

OP posts:
MarigoldMoonStone · 08/12/2021 14:46

Yes definitely says that in the guidelines, and I asked in the chat last month

YonderTweek · 08/12/2021 14:46

@Tinging I'm really tickled by this singular stepping stone. Grin

ruralwanderer · 08/12/2021 15:52

Bummer, I did my calculation of the exchange rate based on their page and had already purchased the item before submitting the page in the tool which then told me I was over budget. I'll raise a ticket just in case.

bookgirl1982 · 08/12/2021 16:16

@ruralwanderer I had one a couple of rounds ago which gave a warning on the form but it was ok as within the limit when calculated properly.

ruralwanderer · 08/12/2021 16:33

@bookgirl1982, that's reassuring, thanks Smile

Mrsmch123 · 08/12/2021 17:04

I've applied for y*n. I'm waiting on the exam😬 does everyone just apply for all projects in the hope that you get accepted to some?

FictionalCharacter · 08/12/2021 17:13

Why all the asterisks?

AdaShelby · 08/12/2021 17:22

We have to sign NDAs so that's why there's so many **

8dpwoah · 08/12/2021 19:06

I appear to be on Yu*! Got an exam email today swiftly followed by a congrats, but nothing else. But it's in my projects now and I've set myself up so I might have a little look tonight and see if I can remember anything about it since I did the exam 😬

Tinging · 08/12/2021 19:25

@YonderTweek the delivery was £30 because they apparently deliver everything by pallet, it’s going to be one empty pallet 😂

ruralwanderer · 08/12/2021 19:29

Argh so annoying, the over budget item has today been reduced by over £20!! Tempted to get a refund then buy it again since I wanted it anyway.

Mrsmch123 · 08/12/2021 19:31

@8dpwoah how long did you wait for your exam?any tips🙈

AdaShelby · 08/12/2021 19:31

@ruralwanderer they won't refund if it's over. I would cancel it, reorder and resubmit your invoice for the lower amount
