Hi all, happy May. Welcome to this months thread. I'll load up the link later. If anyone else wants to do it, feel free, I'm rubbish at it.

The idea of this thread is to earn a bit of extra cash, as the title suggest. Have a look and these threads go back a while and might give you some ideas.

Newbies welcome. We're a lovely, helpful lot.

@ZetaPuppis, I'm very nervous about it. Honestly it took me days to do the exam. I reckon I was doing 2 an hour! Is the minimum 10 hours a week? Feeling a bit stressed at the moment as for the first time ever have a 20 hour a week Appen project! I'm on 13 hours now but honestly it's been a struggle to dedicate the time, although not complaining obviously. No idea where I'll find the time to do 40 hours! Lol!

@AnotherOne4, I am doing that job. That is my 20 hour a week project! I'm making a note of my hours too but I am finding that the total review time tracker on SRT is pretty accurate for me. You sometimes have to wait 10 minutes for it to catch up with itself though.

@Catatemyhomework mines about an hour out. I'm worried now I've just hit the three hour mark, according to my time keeping, but SRT says I've only done 2 hrs 13 mins

@AnotherOne4, have you let it re-adjust for 15-20 minutes? I find mine is always out by quite a lot for about 20 minutes. I don't know. It's quite nerve wracking isn't it as you don't want to under invoice but you also don't want to have your invoice rejected. I will,be happier when I have an invoice approved, but that won't be for another month now as my first day of work on the project was 1 May.

What’s the minimum hours for Suth again, does anyone know off the top of their head? I’ve shut my laptop down for the night. And what happens if you don’t meet the minimum? I think I’ve only done about 4 hours so far as I only started yesterday.

@swiftt, it's 20 a week, but I'm sure you'll be fine if you only started yesterday. Their week runs from Saturday to Friday apparently.

@swiftt We're supposed to do between 3-6 hours a day. I'll never make 20 hours this week, but then I did only start late yesterday

My SRT timing seems pretty accurate but, like others, I'm logging separately for my own peace of mind. Trying to do the 4 hours and have managed so far, day three on the job and completed! Phew. My first invoice bounced back earlier but they hadn't added a job (automated invoice) so all sorted now so hopefully will see my first bit of earnings soon!

@Catatemyhomework thanks. Ah, that’s what I was worried about. I only started yesterday so no way I’ll hit 20 by Friday.

@AnotherOne4 yeah I’m the same! I tried to do a bit more today but I find it so boring, my eyes start to glaze over. I’ll maybe need to space it out a bit more. It’s nerve wracking when it’s your first job, I’m so paranoid I’m doing something wrong and I won’t get paid or something!

@swiftt - haha I find it boring too. I've been trying to read some of that chat, it seems no-one is really sure on what is right and what is wrong.

Hopefully I'll do a big batch of it at the wkd

S*land wise are you comparing the time you’ve logged to “Total Review Time” not that plus Total Research Time”? (guidance notes say the latter but that sounds wrong).

@MooseInTheHouse, yep just total review time for me. Adding on total research time makes my hours way more than I actually worked. Not sure why they have both.

Same here @Catatemyhomework but the review time is less than I recorded. Confusing.

My SRT figures are out too. I think it's because I flick between the chat/guidelines and side search, and it might only record the time I'm actively in the SRT window? I've got my Chromebook on the side now to duel screen so I'm hoping that will help.

@MrsWombat - I do what you do too (switch between guidelines and chat)

I got up early to put an hour in before rl job, but even that hour isn't showing in my SRT I'm worried I'm putting all this hours in and won't get paid.

FWIW though, it did this when I was on similar projects last year and I never got an invoice rejected. As long as it vaguely matches the RPH it should hopefully be ok.

Happy to see I've been reimbursed for everything on last months am**, there was one I wasn't sure about but as I'm returning it anyway I went ahead. Annoyingly it still hasn't been dispatched (definitely legit site though) so think it may stop me getting on the June round. I saw on the chat you can have outstanding products from the last round but not from 2 rounds earlier.

@Gatekeeper You use the email address the invitation email is addressed to. It will be different to your actual email address.

I’ve logged into SRT this morning and now my review time agrees with my records. Phew

Amur people. I’ve had my payment but it isn’t broken down to products. Its off by about £6. Is that likely to be currency issue or have I not been paid for something?

Qm** is back to it's old game of rejecting surveys after I have spent aboring 15 - 20 mins filling them in. And I am doing them properly and not racing thorugh them. So frustrating.

Thank goodness for Pro**c - usually really interesting to do and they pay fairly and quickly.

@Redcrayons most likely currency, it generally does not work in our favor
