Hi all, happy May. Welcome to this months thread. I'll load up the link later. If anyone else wants to do it, feel free, I'm rubbish at it.

The idea of this thread is to earn a bit of extra cash, as the title suggest. Have a look and these threads go back a while and might give you some ideas.

Newbies welcome. We're a lovely, helpful lot.

Surely it can't be over if there are jobs still sporadically appearing, you'd think they redact access via the tool if it was done so no one got any jobs (and send an email confirming!) Grin

I agree. If the job was over, nothing would be getting through, as the job would be closed. But another theory I have is, what if they are sending the same job to the same people, and testing us. See how we all rate them

@AnotherOne4 ok that's an interesting theory! Plausible too now I think about it, specifically looking at those of us who've latched onto these sporadic jobs. The other option is there's an IT problem although you'd think they'd jumped all over that sooner than now and if that was the case Hmm

It doesn't look like I'll get my 20 hours in this week for Suth*and now. Still 6 to go! I've done a few hours on my new LB maps project which is scary as I still feel like I don't know what I'm doing. I seem to have 0 tasks to rate now and worried I have been deactivated for making mistakes, although it does say they do audits of new workers and have to deactivate accounts to do it. I've suddenly gone from having so much work and thinking I am going to smash £1000 this month for the first time ever to now thinking that it's all finished and I will earn no more this month. Nature of the beast I suppose but it sure fluctuates a lot, along with my mood swings! Grin

Wow can someone give me the basics of what you're all doing? About to go on maternity and some extra cash when I go on SMT would be handy! How does this all work with the tax man / extra income?

@ame88 Welcome. Depending on your circumstances you have to keep records, but you don't need to report to the tax man until you've made £1000. Then any tax you pay after that will depend on your existing income. (I only work very part-time so I never make over £12.5k in total so don't pay tax)

A very basic description is we are independent contractors and do data entry/sorting, software/website/app testing, transcription and surveys for various companies. Most of the clients of these companies are household names.

I generally work for Crisp Thinking, uTest and Appen when there are projects available.

Can I join? I've seen these threads come up over the years. I'm about to move house and all my disposal income will be sucked into it. This could be the place for me. I work part time but rather than increasing my hours in a job I hate this looks like a promising alternative.

What would be an average earning for 20 hours a month? Or is not possible to work out?

@AnotherOne4 mine are accurate if the audit email is for the week up to 7/5, but not if it’s 13/5. The email has both dates so who knows. I’m getting a bit annoyed now, there must be someone that knows what’s going on. The whole project seems like an absolute mess!

@zippyswife welcome! It totally depends what you end up doing for those 20 hours. With most of this work, it isn’t always guaranteed so it would be hard to put a number on. I find transcription work pretty steady and reliable, and the survey sites (Prolific, Qmee) are a good place to start just for some extra £ through the month with minimal effort.

Looks like it's happened to loads of people. So mine has week end 07/05 in subject then week ending 13/05 in the body!!

Figures in email look like they only cover from 03/05 (when I started ) and 07/05.

I'm convinced they're having IT issues that are not only impacting jobs, queues but also these audit calculations. So basically an SRT IT issue

I still cannot generate an activation code for SRT. Support finally emailed me back saying they are aware of an IT issue so maybe it’s affecting the whole system?
From the timeframe they gave me, today should be my day! But I’m not holding out much hope.
