Hi all, happy May. Welcome to this months thread. I'll load up the link later. If anyone else wants to do it, feel free, I'm rubbish at it.

The idea of this thread is to earn a bit of extra cash, as the title suggest. Have a look and these threads go back a while and might give you some ideas.

Newbies welcome. We're a lovely, helpful lot.

What has happened to potato? When I started about a year or so ago could easily make £800 a month, now it's barely £100 :-(

It’s so weird @endofday. I started just over a year ago and my daily target was £10 a day and I managed to hit it and I’m pretty slow.

I’m barely scraping £2 per hour.

Perhaps people are out more and not staying at home ranting on social media about nothing.

Would be interesting to hear from pre-lockdown people if this is normal or not.

appen wise - are you on the FB surveys, begin with N? Not a big payer, but easy enough and fairly regular.

Can anyone please help me. Do Appen let you know if your work was good enough? I'm new to Appen and did my first work for them almost a week ago. It was Harp**h, the speech recording project. However, I have not heard anything since I submitted it. No email or anything when I log on to Appen. I'm worried my work wasn't good enough. What normally happens next? Thank you

@poppylife it can take forever to hear back from recording or video projects. I did that one a while ago and gave up 3/4 through as I realised I'd been saying the wrong woke word Blush . When they listen back to the recording they can probably hear me say "Aw...bugger it"

How do I get paid with appen? I know they use payoneer but I haven't been asked for any payment details yet even though I have completed the har*h project. If my work is approved will I only be asked for payment details then? Thank you

It was a while ago now but they may have mentioned the Payoneer in an email but I can't be sure. You could set the account up yourself and give them your ID number from it.

I don't think I'll be doing it again because I know that I'll do it the way that I normally do it, therefore it will be wrong again :( The people that have passed have obviously done it the correct way and I don't know the correct way iyswim 😁

Hi so I did that project, they automatically created my invoice for me towards the end of last month so my work must have passed all the quality control as I got the full amount. No other comms were had :)

I was the same on H*th @Poppylife - I got an email about a week after I'd finished it saying my payment had been generated and then it appeared in my next invoice - I didn't have to do anything.
