Hi all, happy May. Welcome to this months thread. I'll load up the link later. If anyone else wants to do it, feel free, I'm rubbish at it.

The idea of this thread is to earn a bit of extra cash, as the title suggest. Have a look and these threads go back a while and might give you some ideas.

Newbies welcome. We're a lovely, helpful lot.

Actually it's better now that it has been all day!

YonderTweek · 10/05/2021 18:40

There really is no work today is there? I have managed about an hour today and have spent ages just waiting for tasks. Grr. Just logged in again and had two entries and then nothing again. Surely they can't hold it against us if we don't meet the weekly targets if there's no work?

AnotherOne4 · 10/05/2021 18:59

I don't understand why they have said we can work extra, if there isn't enough work to go round.
I'll never make 20 hours this week if I don't do a few tonight.

Norked · 10/05/2021 19:04

Didn't pass the offline assessment for Way with Words, they sent this:
Your assessment showed a good level of ability and although not meeting our present requirements for our Main Way With Words platform, we feel that they would be of benefit to our project platforms. We will therefore retain your details and contact you once an opportunity arises....
No idea what that means

swiftt · 10/05/2021 19:07

@Norked I think that may be a standard response. It’s what I got anyway, and I haven’t heard any more from them.

whysotriggered · 10/05/2021 19:51

@AnotherOne4 all their projects follow a similar pattern, there is a min level of hours but if no work then they don't expect you to hit it but when it's busy, they don't mind people working extra. The only time you get into trouble is if there is ample work (in their view) and you don't hit the minimum.

Ahh ok, thanks Smile

There seems to be more work on S'd now. I've been doing it for an hour......

CocoPrivileges · 10/05/2021 20:20

Yes - what a difference when the work is actually flowing freely!

Packing it in now for today - have just scraped four hours but I feel like I've been sitting in front of the screen all day Sad

AnotherOne4 · 10/05/2021 20:28

Well done @CocoPrivileges for managing 4 hours. I’ve got to stick at it for a few hours yet, so I stay in target

CocoPrivileges · 10/05/2021 21:13

Good luck @AnotherOne4! Hopefully it will be much easier to clock up the hours now.

Gatekeeper · 10/05/2021 21:32

@superpinkgirl Ive just got the srt access email but I'm a bit confused by it all. Bit out of sorts today so will leave until tomorrow

peabrainer · 10/05/2021 22:14

Rookie Am** question on my first month: I had a reminder email about submitting reimbursements forms by Wednesday. I've done all these (I think!). It also mentioned reimbursement for time spent completing the surveys. Is this automatically added on to the reimbursement? Out of interest, how much is it?

Catatemyhomework · 10/05/2021 22:42

@Tinging and anyone else who does maps on LB. So tonight I did 2 questions on the live system. Was terrified. Certain I've done them wrong and it took me 1.5 hours! Anyway, my question is, where do I put this information? There is a very confusing time sheet in SAP format with loads of rows on different topics. I just did relevance and accuracy. How do I record this information. Apparently we have to do a 20 hour a week maximum stint so I assume I need to record this somewhere? My brain is fried and I am confused. Any help at all would be so much appreciated. Thanks! 🤔

Tinging · 10/05/2021 22:53

@Catatemyhomework it’s all automatic now, the system knows how many tasks you have done and how long you have worked, it shows you on the main site what tasks you have completed. I keep a handwritten record, just a quick tally as I work but it’s always correct. If you want more detail feel free to PM.

Catatemyhomework · 10/05/2021 23:00

@Tinging, thank you so much for your reply. So I don't need to enter anything into that SAP time sheet then? That's a relief. It's so confusing. I just did my first 2 and it was just similar to the exam but more to rate in one question if you know what I mean. I may well PM you tomorrow if that's ok. Thank you. 😊
@Norked I'm on WWW and it's well worth the slog- they have a really scaffolded onboarding process and the people in the office are really helpful- it feels like having a 'proper' job to me (whereas App I feel a bit detached if you see what I mean).

The long deadline and straightforward instruction tasks don't pay too well but I'm hoping I'll get faster and also get access to the quicker turnaround and higher paid tasks in time. I'm still learning what files suit me best, I don't do any timestamping ones as it's a bit complicated for me. I always check the files before claiming them to make sure they are an easy listen as got bitten on that on a previous file and it took me ages!

I was going to look at Rev too but at the minute there's plenty of work available on WWW and I want to improve on that platform so will be sticking with it for a while. They pay reliably and are really quick to answer any queries with jobs.
I had a go at WWW but failed the audio test. I was surprised as I thought I'd done well. I have no idea where I went wrong! Oh well :)

S*d, managed another 5 hours yesterday and aiming for another 5 today...hopefully will reach the 25 hours bonus stage this week 🤞🏻 I wonder, in terms of when it's searching for jobs, whether it's simply a busy time with lots of raters logged in working? As people log off, you're queued and then wait your turn for available queries

AnotherOne4 · 11/05/2021 07:01

@LoLo2020 well done for managing 5 hours. I think I did 4 yesterday, but I'm on again now (so before 8am, which will also go onto tomorrows timings)
I'm going to aim for a bonus - not sure which one yet, lol. Just going to squeeze in as many hours as I can. Don't really want to add the hours up yet, as I like to leave it as a surprise Shock lol

swiftt · 11/05/2021 07:24

@AnotherOne4 has there been much work so far? I logged on at about 4am when I woke up and couldn’t get back to sleep but it was still super quiet! I’ll try again later this morning.

AnotherOne4 · 11/05/2021 07:27

@swiftt - it was a bit stop/starty at 6.30 am (UK) when I started, but it seems ok now. I have to jump off in a bit, to go to the RL job Sad
Let me know how it goes through the day Smile

seizethecuttlefish · 11/05/2021 07:33

@peabrainer it's an automatic email so just ignore it, if you've submitted everything. You get 6 or 7 dollars per item you bought. Sorry fuzzy brain and can't remember exactly.

Any one actually done the Po*e quiz and failed? Not sure how I did fail but I did !

Catatemyhomework · 11/05/2021 08:52

@Gatekeeper, I failed it too 🤔
Honestly I don't want to take it again as I've no idea what I did wrong last time. I've just been on chat and no one seems to have passed it. 🤔

ruralwanderer · 11/05/2021 09:06

Managed an hour on potato first thing (minimal content though) and the $7 Appen survey so quite happy with that before heading out for a day of exam invigilating. Hope you all have a good day 😊
