It’s a strange one alright. It’s my first proper project and I have no clue if I’m doing it right lol.

Well done for getting to 12 hours. I think I’m on about 11 hours so far

FreoFeoh · 07/05/2021 19:50

Same here @AnotherOne4, fingers crossed I am following the vague guidelines correctly!

Norked · 07/05/2021 20:50

@swifft did you get on to Way With Words? I'm doing the offline assessment at the moment and I have read its extremely hard to pass - people with English degrees etc failing it apparently. And the pay is only up to about 43p per audio minute! So bit deflated but will get onto Rev tomorrow.

swiftt · 07/05/2021 21:31

@Norked nope, I failed the online assessment. Most of the Rev files I do pay much better anyway, thankfully. I do TakeNote as well, but not as much because their pay rates are only really decent for quite difficult files. Let me know if you need a hand with anything Rev!

S**l*d peeps - how are you entering your time on the invoice? I’ve just noticed the ‘times must entered using pacific time’
Sad

I'm just entering total hours and mins worked each day and keeping it updated, making sure I'm remembering that pacific time is 8 hours behind us! I think? So if I work at 07:00 in the morning it's still the end of the previous day their time. Not even sure if that's correct 😅
swiftt · 07/05/2021 22:16

@AnotherOne4 oh god, I hadn’t even noticed that. I’ve just been putting my hours for each day! Surely as long as it all adds up, it’ll be the same anyway.

LoLo2020 · 07/05/2021 22:21
@AnotherOne4 oh god, I hadn’t even noticed that. I’ve just been putting my hours for each day! Surely as long as it all adds up, it’ll be the same anyway.
I'm sure they'll get lots of people who record their hours against their own time zone, on the metrics page it totals everything anyway. How accurate do the numbers look in your total recorded hours? Mine is one hour out for this week at the moment and my RPH is crazy high because I've had loads where there's just the featured text with a random word so now I'm worried they'll think I'm rushing/ not doing it properly. Once we get a quality check feedback email, I think we will all know better just how effectively we are doing this 😄

AnotherOne4 · 07/05/2021 22:22

@LoLo2020 so....for example if I’m working between the (UK) hours of 6am and 11pm, I just enter that as normal. As it would still fall within the pacific time. Does that make sense?! Lol

@swiftt I don’t want to give Ap any excuse not to pay me haha

Ok so if you worked anytime before 08:00 then you're still in the previous day Pacific time but anything between 08:00 and 07:59 the next day our time is the same day for them . Does that make sense ha ha? 🤣

swiftt · 07/05/2021 22:34

@LoLo2020 yeah, mine is similar. I haven’t worked out my RPH but I skip so many and don’t usually have to open the page to read more, so also a bit worried mine will be too high. I didn’t realise you got feedback, that will be handy. I’d hate to do a whole month of this and then not get paid because I’ve been doing it wrong... 🙈

AnotherOne4 · 07/05/2021 22:34

Oh god @LoLo2020, yeah that made sense. That totally messes with my mind though haha!
I’m gonna have to go through my times tomorrow and correct them all. (I can see me screwing this up)

It's a mind bender but becomes second nature once you've done it a few days Smile We are living in west coast time whilst doing this work 😁

Keep that faith 😁 it will be good to get some quality check feedback, the amount of times I've read through the guidance now. Might print it and out it on my wall (that's a joke!) 😁

AnotherOne4 · 07/05/2021 22:47

Is it as simple as:
Any work completed before 7.59am will go on the previous days invoice
It’s too late at night for my mind to be thinking about this lol

kneesknocking · 07/05/2021 23:22

@MooseInTheHouse thanks, think I'll give it a miss 😆

Catatemyhomework · 07/05/2021 23:48

So I have managed 21 hours this week on Suth*and. Wish it could have been more but there just isn't the time unfortunately. Still, pleased with that. At least it's the minimum covered.

Yes, that's it :)
StreetLightsHoney · 08/05/2021 03:56

Hi all, new to this thread. Have signed up to Qmee and Prolific looks great but I’m worried about uploading my ID to it?

I’m worried about identity theft 😬 I know it explains why they need it but I’m still concerned. Any reassurances?

MrsWombat · 08/05/2021 07:27

I'm aiming for 15 hours for Suth*, which is the minimum you can get away with before having to fill out the unavailability survey. I'm so lazy. Blush I'll aim for 20 next week. I use Toggl for recording my times, so for tracking everything in PST, anything I work first thing in the morning before 8am BST I will manually change the date to the previous day BST on Toggl. So the hour or so I'm working this morning will appear as if I've worked it yesterday. I tag the entry as "manual PST" too if I'm feeling organised. Hope that make sense!

YonderTweek · 08/05/2021 09:03

Thank god you have explained the time difference! This is the sort of stuff my brain doesn't want to compute. Haha. I have just gone through my invoice and changed the hours to reflect the right time zone. Hope I did it right.

I have a minor mortgage update. Turns out doing the A*r project may not be a good look if you are applying for a mortgage. Confused As I haven't been self employed long enough to have done my first self assessment, the lender doesn't really want to know how much money I'm bringing in. However, as mine and my husband's outgoings are essentially from the same pot, it now looks like we spend more than we actually do, if you look at the A*r purchases I made last year and earlier this year. I had a couple of good months where I spent around £350 and obviously got the money back (and made some by returning the stuff), but to them it just looks like we have spent it all. Whoops. I'm sure we can sort it all out but I was kicking myself for being on the project and making it more complicated for us. Grr.

(And I wasn't even selected this month, which I'm still a bit bitter about. Grin)

Anyway, hope you all have a lovely weekend. Brew Wine Cake

AnotherOne4 · 08/05/2021 11:08

Thank-you to all who helped with he Sl**d invoice issue. I've updated mine now - phew!

I've just watched/listened to the podacst and they showed a few examples. I'm not sure I would have got the first one correct, but I did all the others, so that's a huge relief!

They also said when nothing appears in the widget, it is skip you press and not 'page won't load'. At the beginning I was clicking 'page won't load', but they said alot of people were....

Well worth a watch....

Heyha · 08/05/2021 12:12

@Norked I'm on WWW and it's well worth the slog- they have a really scaffolded onboarding process and the people in the office are really helpful- it feels like having a 'proper' job to me (whereas App I feel a bit detached if you see what I mean).

The long deadline and straightforward instruction tasks don't pay too well but I'm hoping I'll get faster and also get access to the quicker turnaround and higher paid tasks in time. I'm still learning what files suit me best, I don't do any timestamping ones as it's a bit complicated for me. I always check the files before claiming them to make sure they are an easy listen as got bitten on that on a previous file and it took me ages!

I was going to look at Rev too but at the minute there's plenty of work available on WWW and I want to improve on that platform so will be sticking with it for a while. They pay reliably and are really quick to answer any queries with jobs.

Norked · 08/05/2021 12:50

Wow well done @Heyha everything I've read about the tests to be accepted says its VERY hard and a tiny percentage get in! I've finished first draft of the offline assessment just want to go over it again before I submit but not holding out much hope....People who thought they'd done a flawless job of it failed etc
