Appen is easy once you get into it as each project is pretty well explained and you can read up on each one before deciding whether to apply. Most have a little test too which helps you to see if you like it and can easily apply it in real life before getting stuck in. The trickiest bit with Appen is getting your first project! Once you're in though, the world is your oyster 👍

But where do you find the jobs on Appen? When I sign in, there are no jobs showing. When I open my Appen dashboard, and click on 'job availability' it takes me to a broken link. So I just don't get it

Don't understand why they want us to do the unpaid assessment though when we've clearly done the work in the past and got it right!

I don't see why it has to be 45 mins. Why can't it be 10 mins. The suspicious part of me thinks it is a good way of getting some free work done!

I got it too and ollock but after the issues with my other project I'm not doing anything other than A*r, if I'm selected again - at least I'll have something to sell if they don't pay me.

I did the bane test, but not for 45 mins - not sure why they plucked that time out

It took me about 10 - 15 minutes

Yeah I did the test well under 45 mins too. Cheeky of them asking for unpaid work now though.

Took me longer than 20 mins, partly because I had completely forgotten what this project is about and had to re-read the instructions but still took less than 45 mins. I too am a bit suspicious. I think they get some free work and it doubles as a way to get rid of people without a fuss by saying you didn't pass.

I wonder if it's a way of seeing how quickly people can work- that way they can pay as little as possible. People will want to rattle through it as it's unpaid and so will work at their true sleep.

Well I've finally and my first little snifter of work from App- email links to the new- Facebook surveys. So might not be £10 a day but maybe £10 a month, it's a start 😂
Also had a nice email from Way With Words to say I've passed the offline assessment (which I quite enjoyed doing anyway) but covid has reduced the work they have available so onboarding will happen, but slower than in the past. I really like their style and tone so I'm hoping I'll be able to do regular work with them in time but we shall see!

I've just done the new Appen B* test. TBH I think it was really just a test. When we're working with live data we don't have that many on the page. Did people have a dead musician as one of the last questions, as I suspect we may have all had the same questions?
