So excited to find this thread!

MrsWombat · 03/12/2020 20:23

@Fizbo There won't be any surges whilst they are running the shifts so it's better to get the PPI plus the bonus they are offering.

@Snowballs1 Email them and tell them, they will reset everything for you.

I'll consider booking a shift if they do any during school hours. I'm hoping they keep the surges the rest of the time. Blush

TheSilentStars · 03/12/2020 20:24

Welcome @Trying2Heal Brew

TheSilentStars · 03/12/2020 20:24

I've started to get the shift emails through as well for Potato so they might not have noticed I was crapola last month!

rhij86 · 03/12/2020 20:35

is anyone who already works on crisp about - can I PM someone to pick your brains? just logging in to start work but have a few questions about keeping track of tasks etc

It's all recorded on the dashboard section, it can be quite slow to update though. You can pm me if you like but I don't keep track of things other than look at my dashboard.
Trying2Heal · 03/12/2020 21:26

Does Appen offer payment that's not through PayPal or is PayPal the only option?

seizethecuttlefish · 03/12/2020 23:11

@Trying2Heal I get paid via Payoneer. There are fees though.

Hi all - just have come across this thread, and am intrigued. Do you have to know a lot about computers/software/spreadsheets etc to pass the tests? How much time a day do you spend on it?

I work 2 x 12 hour days a week (different days each week) so wouldn't be able to do anything on those days. Would that be a problem?

The Kindle Direct Publishing thing sounds fun - is the idea that your product/book sells? Blush sorry if that is a dumb question...

Also, I'm not really a whizz on the computer or especially brainy, but would like to make an extra £200/month if possible. I've done matched betting before, but fed up with the gambling angle on it. Grin

Thank you in advance to anyone who answers my general inquiries!

TheSilentStars · 04/12/2020 06:24

@isitsnowingyet, no, certainly for Appen and Crisp you don't need any particular tech know-how. There are always detailed guidelines and tests to pass first, to be honest, all of them look more complicated than they actually are when you get going!

isitsnowingyet · 04/12/2020 06:33

@TheSilentStars Thanks for that. How much time do you spend on either Crisp or Appen daily?

MrsWombat · 04/12/2020 06:51

@isitsnowingyet You can absolutely just do things 5 days of the week.

For KDP this is an example of a no content notebook (not mine)
amazon.co.uk/Mums-Notebook-Mary-Ochigbo/dp/B08NF32HHN/]] They've made the cover in Canva or similar and the inside they've either bought very cheaply from somewhere like Creative Fabrica or made themselves.

This is a low content one:
amazon.co.uk/Christmas-Colouring-Book-Kids-Collection/dp/B08NMDMXQN/]]

At the moment I am concentrating on colouring books (I get the pages from Creative Fabrica and edit them to make them my own) and sudoku puzzles (I've bought a fancy spreadsheet that makes them from Bowes Publishing for my Christmas present Blush)

Just be warned there are a lot of people out there selling stuff to help you make money. Do a lot of research first. There are also facebook groups too where you can get help and pick up ideas.

This is a British Youtuber that will explain things a lot better than me. (And try and sell you his courses Grin ) www.youtube.com/channel/UC0mQ5AgWwp4qKDGEoZrDcjA His facebook group is good to join.

This is a fab place to download free stuff from: gumroad.com/bowespublishing His facebook group is also excellent.

Buster27 · 04/12/2020 07:05

My am** reimbursement is now showing and is exactly the right amount, phew! Just in case anyone hasn't had their coffee this morning - remember the invoice amount is in dollars (thought I'd been reimbursed too much until I remembered Blush)

isitsnowingyet · 04/12/2020 07:09

Thanks for that @MrsWombat - will have a look at these later.

ruralwanderer · 04/12/2020 07:31

I've just checked my Appen invoice too and the Am stuff is spot on so I'm really pleased :D I'll definitely sign up for the January round now I know it works. I recorded all time spent on the project and the hourly rate at $7 per item worked out at $10.83 for me so not too shabby either.

TheLolaMontez · 04/12/2020 08:06

Had my App invoice approved this morning - my biggest one to date! Nearly $800 just before Xmas 😍 I had my best day on potato yesterday too - feeling really enthused now after about a year of bitting and bobbing, I feel like I'm really making some money! Thank you everyone for contributing to these threads. What an absolute lifeline and a weight lifted ♥️♥️

Baby89 · 04/12/2020 08:12

Hi all . Just had an email from appen been accepted on am*r but need to pass the assessment. This is my first appen project and I'm a bit scared I will get something wrong any advice welcome thank you

YonderTweek · 04/12/2020 08:14

Ah yay, A##r went really well in the end. I would be very happy to do it again. Grin I've been crunching some numbers and after returning some items (and including my bonus) I actually made just over £200 on it, and I got to keep some interesting stuff. Can't knock it.

TheSilentStars · 04/12/2020 08:22

@Baby89
Am** is one of the shortest and easiest to pass.
Go for it!

ruralwanderer · 04/12/2020 08:37

Well done @thelolamontez! @baby89, you'll be fine, go for it 👍

YonderTweek · 04/12/2020 08:37

@Baby89 It looks overwhelming but the test is actually really easy. Just watch the two (?) videos and have the guidelines up in a separate tab when you take the quiz and you'll be fine. You can quite easily search for the answers in the guidelines whilst you're doing the test in case you want to double check anything. As with any test just make sure you read the questions properly. Good luck. Smile

seizethecuttlefish · 04/12/2020 08:56

My invoice got returned as another project fecked up so no Am amount on mine. Nail biting times here. Resubmitted and crossing fingers. Glad it's looking good though. Hope it doesn't delay mine too much as the bill is due this month.

OP posts:
TeddyDidIt · 04/12/2020 09:43

@seizethecuttlefish I had that too. I decided not to wait until the PM sorts out other project and risk not getting my reimbursement this month, so I just resubmitted with a note to that effect. The bonus then appeared immediately (which means I probably could have waited and it was there all along just not showing).
I feel better potentially chasing for $16 than $500 though!

TheLolaMontez · 04/12/2020 10:34

Just booked a few potato shifts Smile

whysotriggered · 04/12/2020 10:52

Congrats @TheLolaMontez on the big number!

May we all end 2020 on a positive note! Good luck in all your money adventures!
