Thanks to this series of threads I have made £230 since the 13th November and only working in baby nap times so 2 hours a day or so. Mostly click worker and a bit of prolific. Planning to join appen shortly I think too.

NCforsafety · 02/12/2020 10:06

Thanks @whysotriggered and @yondertwerk - I'll stop panicking then :)

TeddyDidIt · 02/12/2020 10:15

Same for me with Am... was going to submit today but it's gone from invoice now.
Just to check about the submission deadline because I keep second guessing myself: 4pm PST, 3rd December is midnight Dec 3rd (going into 4th Dec) for UK... right? Confused So we have until the end of Thursday?

rhij86 · 02/12/2020 11:33

I passed the crisp test 😁

Frenchdoors1 · 02/12/2020 12:19

@rhij86 Well done you! Nice one.

I have just been sent the test to do and I'm scared! Blush

Wolfff · 02/12/2020 12:25

Pleased for you @rhij86 Daffodil

whysotriggered · 02/12/2020 12:26

@rhij86 congrats

@Frenchdoors1 I am still reading the guidelines! Good luck with the test

Frenchdoors1 · 02/12/2020 12:29

Thank you! Smile

Good luck but honestly you will be fine. I passed and I don't know how.

Frenchdoors1 · 02/12/2020 13:11

@lynsey91
Thanks for that Smile

Ilovefood1 · 02/12/2020 13:26

Happy December everyone!

@unicornpoopoop, I just wanted to ask, how is it doing Lionbridge and Appen at the same time? I was under the impression you can't do both?

Also, can't remember who it was but someone said they did some Kindle Direct Publishing. I've heard a few things about this, how do you get started?

Frenchdoors1 · 02/12/2020 13:36

Oh, i haven't been sent the tests yet.
I have been sent a load of stuff to read first and i have not got a clue how to even understand it.
Probs stick to the work that i have already been doing

whysotriggered · 02/12/2020 14:26

@frenchdoor1, we have 5 days, so I am trying to split it up and then aim to do the test at the weekend or Friday evening. I am focusing on the standard guidelines only. I think it is slowly making sense and I am sure will make more sense over the next few days. I do not expect to be confident for the test but I will give it a shot.

MrsWombat · 02/12/2020 14:41

@Ilovefood1 I'm doing KDP. There are a few Facebook groups and YouTube channels on the subject. Unless you are a writer, low content KDP is what you need to look for. Basically, you create a lined notebook/colouring book/puzzle book in something like Powerpoint then covert it to a PDF, and create a cover in something like Canva (I use photoshop) then publish it on KDP. I already have a lot of related software as it fits in with my other work and hobbies, but there is free stuff out there too. Creative Fabrica has lots of free and cheap stuff. This is a free interior: www.creativefabrica.com/product/college-ruled-lined-paper/

Ilovefood1 · 02/12/2020 15:43

@MrsWombat Thank you for that information, it sounds really interesting! Think I might have a look into that :)

tinkywinkyshandbag · 02/12/2020 17:31

Also passed Crisp too yay xx

Frenchdoors1 · 02/12/2020 17:41

@whysotriggered

Thank you, that is a good idea!

I think this is how it works but suddenly I'm doubting myself. Blush

I just checked my November earnings, and if A**r reimbursements work out I will have made just over a grand, which is my personal best. 😃 I'm so pleased because I have really put the hours in recently and it's nice to see it paying off. And I found a pound in the park today. 😂

Naturally now that I have been swimming in work, literally all of my projects are giving me "no tasks available" as of this afternoon. Time to find new projects!

TeddyDidIt · 02/12/2020 20:58

I got a generic email from App saying the Am invoicing issue has been fixed, so I will submit in the morning and hope for the best re reimbursement.
I still have one item outstanding so I don't know if that means I definitely won't get selected this month. I did buy 11 items, so odds were one would go astray on its way from China!

abouquetofsharpenedpencils · 02/12/2020 21:01

@seizethecuttlefish @MrsWombat
Thanks for the clarification. I will get signed up as soon as I get a spare moment. I have been following these threads for a while, now is the time to finally take action!

lannister · 03/12/2020 05:13

Thank you for the new thread and well done to all the new crispers :)

TheSilentStars · 03/12/2020 06:53

Just posted on end of old thread.
Namechanged.
Congrats to new crispers! They will be my main source now as I've fallen out big time with Appen. Grin

unicornpoopoop · 03/12/2020 07:14

@Ilovefood1

I'm still a little unsure how working for both work. I got accepted onto appen and worked about a week before finding out I had passed lionbridge. I then realised that the lionbridge work was much more consistent than the job I was accepted onto appen was.

I've seen jobs on appen that look like they are possibly the same as my lionbridge work so I haven't signed up for any of them even though I really would like to but I don't want to risk anything with lionbridge as it's been a good income for me.

So at the minute just making sure I only apply for jobs that are completely different on appen. To be honest I don't do much on there. I'm surprised no one on here seems to do lionbridge as for me it seems so much easier than having to apply for several projects on appen and all the different guidelines for all the projects.

seizethecuttlefish · 03/12/2020 07:16

Well done to all the new crispies.

I did the Mtl exam on Ap and didn't get the usual email saying pass or fail so I'm assuming it's a fail as it's still on my "not qualified" list. Which is a pity as it looked interesting. I need to get something regular as when Crsp gets quiet I won't be making as much in the times I can work.

Congrats to all passing Crisp.
I’m going to try to do more this month. Last month was a bit rubbish.
I just ended up with more in my actual job so didn’t have the time.
