I had two outstanding from November and was invited to December and I now have three outstanding from that round, two from Asia and one from America. There were a few others from Asia but they arrived pretty promptly which was a pleasant surprise.

I don't think having outstanding items affects whether you are picked or not for the next one.

bookgirl1982 · 27/12/2020 21:19

Those with items outstanding from previous rounds, do you get paid for these with the rest?

GailLondon · 28/12/2020 10:29

@bookgirl1982 yes I've always been paid for the items on time, they seem to approve it after you submit the reimbursement forms and dont wait until its all arrived and reviewed. Which is good as some items can take ages!

I'm enjoying potato quite a lot so far, only 6 days in and starting to get the hang of it. Would you experienced crispers say its worth picking up the scheduled shifts? is there a minimum productivity per hour you have to hit if youre on a shift?

mummyof4kids · 28/12/2020 12:51

Can someone send me the link for potato please? I've been following a while but ready to get started
Thank you

ruralwanderer · 28/12/2020 17:25

I'm planning to do my first potato stint tonight after the kids have gone to bed, been geeing myself up for it all day after having gone a bit useless the last month or two. Need to be back in the swing to start the new year off on the right note 🤞

Tattiespuds · 28/12/2020 22:06

@GailLondon no there isn't a minimum but you do need to work consistently for the full hour to get the £2 bonus on top of your PPI item.
I didn't like the shifts to start with but now I'm enjoying them. Worth taking them if you can work the full amount. When I first started my mind wandered when I got to 15-20mins so I'd suggest taking a 30shift to start with.

Other potatoers - are yous finding more of your items are sat "missing values" ? I did work on 23rd checked dashboard and saw my amounts £ and items then carried on for another roughly 30-45mins but the dashboard didn't change - but all almost 200 items i did went to missing value and pay to date doesn't include them. There is amounts for most days I've worked. Any thoughts? Will I still get paid on my statement?

Redcrayons · 29/12/2020 08:10

@Tattiespuds I’ve had quite a few missing values in the last couple of days. It just means they haven’t assigned a value yet. There’s a couple of new clients on there this month, and with the extended break they’re probably a bit slower getting to them.

You may notice your totals change a bit over the next few days as they work them out. I count them as 3p so it’s a nice surprise when my statement is a bit higher than expected.

I quite like the shifts too, but looks like they are getting a bit thin in the ground now there’s so many new crispies. Queues are looking a bit more normal as well.

ruralwanderer · 29/12/2020 08:33

I only started Potato yesterday and have done 4 sessions so far but have nothing showing on my dashboard and am surprised by how many Unsures I have marked! The guidance and initial test aren't completely representative of the real thing, but I'm quite enjoying the fact that the work is there to dip in and out of at will and the kids don't distract me as much as they do when I work on my Appen transcription projects.

Tattiespuds · 29/12/2020 11:06

@Redcrayons that's a good way to see it, I just tallied up I currently have 398 items not including todays marked as missing value so that will be a nice wee boost.

@ruralwanderer it takes normally around a week for your dashboard to go live, when it does any work you did before it goes live wont show on it but don't worry it you will see if on your statement and be paid for it. yeh its really good for jumping on and off when it suits you, and not always having to commit to periods of times. My kids are really young and i cant get my laptop out with them crawling over me and bashing the keyboard so i often leave it set up in the kitchen and do a couple every time i go in to make tea

seizethecuttlefish · 29/12/2020 16:05

@ruralwanderer don't worry, I think we all had a fair amount of unsures at first. I was retreading guidelines today lol. My dashboard didn't work the first month and it was a nice surprise.

@Redcrayons I'll miss the busy spells. If there are shifts I don't see a lot of surges coming.

@Tattiespuds you'll get paid. Like Red said, I count too and get a wee boost.

Happy earning all.

I've been really lazy this month so have been reading along but not had much to post.

My last am* item arrived today so I'm all caught up with it now. Also just been accepted onto clal** .. anybody else?

Will put more effort in next month :)

MrsWombat · 31/12/2020 08:45

Morning all. Had my highest month for a while as I've done quite well with uTest. I might have a casual job at my eldest's secondary school helping with the lateral flow testing, if they ever reopen. It pays more than my own part-time school job. Shock So I'll be focusing on the 1000 minimum items with Crisp at the weekends, cutting back on everything else, and trying to juggle everything working full-time hours for a while. I finally filed my self-assessment for last tax year too. Happy new year!

Baby89 · 31/12/2020 14:17

@MrsWombat thats really good to hear , Im not sure if I already asked you but can you confirm that you went through all the utest academy courses - im half way there. Happy new year to all and thank you for this thread x.

MrsWombat · 31/12/2020 14:52

@Baby89 Ha! No I didn't. I was lucky in that when I started they were looking for a very large number of people to take part in a voice project. Basically they needed any Brit with a working computer Grin so the algorithm points (technically term) I got from doing that got me started with getting invited to other projects. Since then I have done most of the academy stuff though. I am now bronze and I've been made favourite tester for one of my regular projects too. Smile I'm only on a couple of projects at the moment, and turn down everything that isn't a paid test case.

ElectricEels · 01/01/2021 14:06

Did the crisp shifts get released early today?

RaininSummer · 01/01/2021 14:08

Happy New Year everybody. Can someone advise re Appen please. I normally submit my invoice for Tigris today ish but I have also been doing Amur and that has an auto generated invoice apparently. My question is, do I wait for something to appear for that before I submit? I have now done all reviews and reimbursements were completed on time but I haven't heard anything at all about that part do just hoping its in order. I don't want to screw up the payment for Amur as that is a lot because of the up front expenditure.

TIA

YonderTweek · 01/01/2021 14:12

I would wait for the A&&r invoice to show up before submitting. It should appear before the submission deadline. I think it's all a bit delayed at the moment and there was an announcement on the main page saying invoices will be done by X date.

I haven't calculated my earnings for December yet. I'm a bit miffed that my main project has been so quiet that last month has been rubbish. Really hoping for a busy January. 🤞

bookgirl1982 · 01/01/2021 14:24

Yes you'll need to wait for Am** which will be early next week. It's only the tasks pre-submission the reimbursement is added later.

Azerothi · 01/01/2021 14:25

@ElectricEels

No, there won't be any today as new years day and Christmas day scheduled shifts are paid at double time.

RaininSummer · 01/01/2021 14:35

Thank you! Will hang on and keep fingers crossed.

What about the rest of the week? For bespoke and combat I mean. The schedule release is always 2pm Friday Confused

Azerothi · 01/01/2021 14:59

@ElectricEels

Sorry, I thought you were talking about the very new other shifts. Combat and bespoke were released early this week.

ElectricEels · 01/01/2021 15:37

Thank you. How annoying Angry
