@Pepper70

Of the ones I do Appen is probably the best regular job that pays OK roughly £10 an hour ($14). I have done work for others which can range from a few pence for a couple of minutes survey or more than Appen for certain one off jobs or surveys.

It’s difficult to generalise. It depends on whether you pick up long term work or just do bits and pieces. I have ranged from 5 hours a week to an average of 20 for the last month.

Wolfff · 28/07/2020 17:37

@Pepper70
Yes it’s something you do from home. On a phone/tablet/laptop depending on the job.

ZetaPuppis · 28/07/2020 17:52

@Pepper70 yes it’s work you do at home on a laptop mostly.
Have a look and see what works for you. We all do different ones out of the links.
After trying a few, I stick with 3 companies now. The ones I do are proper work so some social media moderating work and analyst work.
The downside is that they can end up being less than the minimum wage. I’m not too fussed as I mostly work if I feel like it for an hour here and there and end up with some extra money in the bank.

Pepper70 · 28/07/2020 18:59

Thanks @Wolfff and @ZetaPuppis - I'll check it out. Could do with some money at the moment as I slip through the net on the government help.

Whatiswrongwithmykid · 28/07/2020 20:49

I’ve been doing potato for a few weeks now but I’m hardly earning anything. I’ve had two warnings so far. The second one was because I didn’t classify something that I considered a very obvious joke as “abuse”. I’m not sure I’m suited to this work.

ZetaPuppis · 28/07/2020 21:00

@Whatiswrongwithmykid I’ll pm you

Peabrainer · 28/07/2020 23:09

Thanks @seizethecuttlefish - I felt exactly the same when you said it knocked your confidence getting the warnings.
@lynsey91 the emails were where I had missed things, I think I need to be more cautious!
@Whatiswrongwithmykid - I think the key is to forget all notions of free speech and sense of humour and be ultra conservative in classifying everything

Horehound · 29/07/2020 00:21

I got laid from Neevo today today. All fur hours as an agent and then 25 calls worth so that was about £120
I am still waiting to be paid for one of the other calls jobs..I think it was the banking one. I haven't been paid for that yet and I'm worried because I made 14 calls then they kicked me off it quoting that quality line but I think the person marking the call marked me as dishonest just because I didn't pick up.
Have you guys been paid for the insurance one and the banking one?

It's the Telco one they've paid me for and that's the one that just closed on Sunday so I feel like j should have been laid already for the others.

Baby89 · 29/07/2020 07:49

@Horehound, I was paid for some calls I think the telco one but only for 9 calls - I’m sure I made more calls than that so will see how it goes.

lynsey91 · 29/07/2020 07:54

@Peabrainer as I said before, I think I am too cautious. I am marking a lot as abuse even though I don't really personally find them abusive. I am honestly surprised I haven't been told I am marking too many but it seems that is what they want you to do

Horehound · 29/07/2020 08:03

These are the ones I haven't been paid for yet:
NBDDCF3BU0M which I think is the banking calls

NBDDC3XVC92 which I think is the insurance calls

GENEUZDLVW not sure what this is but I did 51 and then got kicked off for quality

GENEN0MT5S which I have done 511 of but they have paid me 34 so far

GENE6ZZFLA which I did 301 of but received no payment as yet and it looks like quality is fine.

It looks like there's 4 narrowband (calls) jobs in my history but I can only think of banking, insurance and Telco so I can't think of what the 4th category was :s

WildSkitty · 29/07/2020 08:09

@Horehound the only one of those I have done is the GENE6ZZFLA and I haven't been paid for any either.

Sonmi451 · 29/07/2020 09:46

Hello, is there room for a newbie? I found this thread and went back to June's, and then to May's, to try and get some idea what it was all about, and I think I'm getting there.

Some people on the May thread were talking about Appinio, I wondered if people are still using that and if anyone has an invite code? I'm not sure if I need one, or if anyone gets any benefit if I use it, but it's worth a go if it helps someone.

I'm looking at Way With Words, but so far there hasn't been much mention on the thread. Does anyone do this one regularly?

Off to finish reading the older threads.

Buster27 · 29/07/2020 10:31

Of course @Sonmi451, the more the merrier Smile

I don't work the two you've mentioned but I'm sure somebody will be able to help.

seizethecuttlefish · 29/07/2020 11:47

@Sonmi451 welcome. I think a few people sat the way with words test a while ago but don't know what happens. Transcription isn't my thing. I'm rubbish at it but a few people here are on Rev. I think that's what it's called.

Someone was talking about Appinio a few days ago but I'm on my phone so can't search who. Intellizoom is a good one for a few pounds here and there for me.

Most of my earnings are from Appen as I have a long term project but it's about to finish so that may change. I need to widen my net a bit and look at other options though.

lilmishap · 29/07/2020 15:22

Seriously neevo 2p every phone recording?

Horehound · 29/07/2020 15:25

I'm currently trying the three phrase telecom call thing on Neevo but one I have been given is "invent a 16 digit number and state it"

How can I say that differently three times?!!

Horehound · 29/07/2020 15:26

@lilmishap I think it's 0.22$ for the three phase one. Is that the one you are doing?

lilmishap · 29/07/2020 15:34

Aah yes it is, 0.22 seems more reasonable!

Horehound · 29/07/2020 16:22
@Honeymonstershoulders Yes, you can do all three.
HOW?!
I applied to one and then if I try and apply to another it says log in and then says oh your application in progress 🤔
