MLM Bot Watch 60: It takes a village to sink an island.

Continued chat exposing things such as the lies peddled and the bankruptcies hidden from view.

For those interested, the Lifetime channel is airing a documentary series called Cults & Extreme Belief. I have seen two episodes so far (FLDS, aired yesterday, and Twelve Tribes, aired last week). This coming Sunday is the first part of The Survivors Speak. So far it has been very interesting to see the similarities to MLM brainwashing. The way that active FLDS members still view Warren Jeffs as a prophet rather than a paedophile is remarkably similar to how Young Living customers view their late leader Gary Young.

In other news: I'm thinking about starting a tinfoil MLM as there seems to be a rather strong market amongst huns.

‘Attention seeking’ should be in there too

YouokHun · 13/05/2020 11:28

‘dungareed, beard stroking, saluting, brylcreemed, ex-receptionist, attention-seeking, crocodile tear shedding, unqualified wannabe therapist gaslighter’

Anything to add anyone?!

acatcalledjohn · 13/05/2020 11:50

Yes, but I wouldn't get away with posting it Halo

If you have been declared bankrupt, you can still continue to trade as a sole trader. Although you're not allowed to change your business name.

YouokHun · 13/05/2020 12:24

Yes, that’s true @FranceTeam. I don’t think you can ‘promote’ a company without declaring your bankrupt status to interested parties and you have to declare any commercial activities and earnings to the Insolvency Agency. I expect those things aren’t happening as she’s listed by the agency as unemployed.

leasedaudi · 13/05/2020 12:26

Waaait was Mr Homeschool a receptionist?

FranceTeam · 13/05/2020 13:41

Also if it is a limited company that is trading, there are rules about ensuring that people know it is a limited company that they are dealing with. So if you receive any correspondence or an invoice, the limited company name and registration number must be shown along with the registered address.

Whiterangey · 13/05/2020 14:19

If someone had posted on my Facebook that I am bankrupt I would have replied stating that I'm not and anyone can look me up to prove that.

That was done nice work, especially ad it wad up for 14 hours. At least one of her victims missy have seem it and checked it out.

YouokHun · 13/05/2020 14:50

@leasedaudi yes Mr H was a receptionist at the BBC, he then became something that sounded distinctly W1A, something like Head of Nowness or some other bollocks; not sure I would have wanted a penny of my licence fee going to him but still.

YouokHun · 13/05/2020 15:31

Well there is Modere UK Ltd but that just has Utah based directors (UK directors all resigned) and the European business has shut down. Her “mentor” is in the US, so perhaps she thinks she’s cleverly bypassing the rules in the U.K? Her paymasters in the US won’t care about the rules or the outcome for her. I wonder if Modere products are all U.K. compliant, as unnamed/obscured product straight from the US (after a disappearing venture in Europe) is rather Vida Divina in style isn’t it (and who can forget the Sleep n Lose debacle).

SSDGM · 13/05/2020 16:48

Are Vida Divina still selling over here? Not seen anything for their shit yourself tea for ages.

FranceTeam · 13/05/2020 16:52

That company you mention is for “admin services for the group”, so suggests it is not a company that makes retail sales.

I’m not sure what the other bot’s limited companies are for? They don’t quote the company numbers on their websites for example

BSintolerant · 13/05/2020 17:14

@FranceTeam Bots could often set up limited companies for tax reasons and to limit any liabilities which may arise. Sole traders / self-employed people pay higher taxes than limited companies when their earnings reach a certain level.

The downside of being self-employed is that if you’re made bankrupt your personal assets are potentially up for grabs to pay your debts.

If a limited company is insolvent, a director’s personal assets are out of reach. A director would only lose what they put into the company.

Sacked is claiming her magic Vitamin pills are curing her short sightedness Hmm

Shhhhh223 · 13/05/2020 18:06

Who is rasher bot with now?

JasperRising · 13/05/2020 18:13

I notice yawn is using the fact that the owner of FL and the majority of senior management are male as a sign that it's not just a business from women. Rather than a sign that rich men are exploiting women. Or that it has the same problem with a male dominated board room as many other companies.

acatcalledjohn · 13/05/2020 18:47

Rasher is with B Epic. https://www.bepic.com/0/index.php?page=products

Homeschool’s latest live is putting her financial situation out there in an exercise of damage limitation. Mr is by her side, steering things a bit. She talks about the bullying and nastiness from within FLP and it’s clear she turned all this on herself and didn’t ever rationally assess MLM for the shit show It is . If only she would properly listen to what the anti MLM people are saying, that what she experienced IS mlm. She has been taken in by it as a vulnerable and naive person. Through sheer lucky timing and building a huge downline she came to believe that FLP was viable and she was in charge, but she wasn’t and they retained the ability to take it all away and they did. Does she really think Modere will be different?. She was manipulated. Then she was bullied from within the industry; this is what MLM does to people, it pitches them against each other, it creates false friends. Yet here she is again, involving herself in a new MLM, destined for the same boom and bust (without the boom these days).

On a purely human level I feel sorry for her because she has clearly been very unhappy and anxious and I don’t buy her assertion that all is well now, but on another I just want to shake her. Can she not see that in MLM for one person to make a lot of money others MUST suffer; her success was built on tricking others and others losing. And that’s exactly what she’s signed up for again. Arrggh.

Spongebobette · 13/05/2020 21:36

‘The master is here’

😳

Spongebobette · 13/05/2020 21:42

(Who is very twitchy)

YouokHun · 13/05/2020 22:05

Yes twitchy and quite keen to be nice about the “positive intent” of people who are anti MLM. I thought he was keen to smooth things and encourage us to move on and not examine things or comment further.

SSDGM · 13/05/2020 22:12

So, in summary, everything that the anti MLM movement warns people about happened to her but she still went and joined another one because having strangers blow smoke up her arse is her only way to feel validated.

If she was so bloody unhappy then why drag others down with her for 4 years?

Spongebobette · 13/05/2020 22:22

I feel a bit sorry on a human level but she MUST know how many women lost money under her to allow her to buy those Chanel bags

And spare me the ‘I’m so honest and transparent’ schtick. You now say you were miserable for FOUR YEARS in Forever Living, all the while posting positivity and about how successful you were and attracting others in

You are now bankrupt in a rented house and it STILL hasn’t occurred to you that the whole MLM industry is set up to rinse money from everyone except the owners and a very select few. You are doing it all over again!!! For the sake of your children, face reality.

Twentytwentyhindsight · 13/05/2020 22:31

Fuck them, and the horse they rode in on. They are fully aware of the fact that they are peddling horseshit in an attempt to carry on making money off the losses of the women they rope in.

This is purely an exercise in damage limitation, yet another one one in the endless 'the truth' series of valedictory bollocks they trot out when their feet are held uncomfortably close to the fire.

Rinse and repeat.

If there was any hint that they were prepared to repudiate the exploitative model they promote, I might be more charitable, but they are a pair of unrepentant vultures that aim to carry on preying on any weakness they can find (and, in the case of Mr Homeschool, foster).

I hope she is found to have breached the terms of her bankruptcy and faces the full consequences.

As for her creep of a husband, I hope he gets done for unlicensed counselling and predatory behaviour.
