MLM Bot Watch 60: It takes a village to sink an island.

Continued chat exposing things such as the lies peddled and the bankruptcies hidden from view.

For those interested, the Lifetime channel is airing a documentary series called Cults & Extreme Belief. I have seen two episodes so far (FLDS, aired yesterday, and Twelve Tribes, aired last week). This coming Sunday is the first part of The Survivors Speak. So far it has been very interesting to see the similarities to MLM brainwashing. The way that active FLDS members still view Warren Jeffs as a prophet rather than a paedophile is remarkably similar to how Young Living customers view their late leader Gary Young.

In other news: I'm thinking about starting a tinfoil MLM as there seems to be a rather strong market amongst huns.

Yes and you don’t get a free pass by prefacing every mad statement with ‘they call me a conspiracy theorist but...’

Spongebobette · 01/06/2020 12:46

@Duvetday8 did she mention which MLM? They are often coy about that until they have pinned you down

GoldenKelpie · 01/06/2020 12:51

Duvetday "pockets of time" - made me giggle. Reminds me of another little pearl of wisdom from a bot who loves stepladders (really tall ones). Grin

On another matter...

I.HAVE.ARRIVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, after years and years of patiently waiting whilst reading MLM bot activities since the first thread on this, the 60th thread, I have received a DM on fb from a stranger in another country who wants to flog me some vitamin pills and join her team. I have clicked to decline the offer/person.

Sigh, the day cannot get any better.

I assumed it was Herbalife or J+.

ZaZathecat · 01/06/2020 12:58

I've recently started receiving FB invitations to join in lots of 'exciting' raffles, live q and a, and to 'make sure you get your order in cos we're ecstatic about putting in out order at 8pm tonight' type things.
These are from a young couple who are acquaintances of mine and the product is Body Shop at Home.
I thought Body Shop was a normal bona fide type of business, but these posts drip with mlm style gush.

Are Body Shop at Home an MLM/pyramid selling?

GoldenKelpie · 01/06/2020 13:07

ZaZathecat, yes Body Shop at Home is the name of the MLM. I am saddened to say that a dear cousin (not local thankfully) has succumbed to this MLM. She is a prime candidate; a full time carer of elderly parent with dementia who lives with her, no other way of earning an income as rarely leaves house/cannot make plans. She did a 'live' selling event last week which was barely attended. I have not engaged with her at all about her 'business'.

I also have a neighbour who has become involved, again a prime target; parent of disabled child and cannot work outside home. She has posted a number of dodgy "buy my hand creams so I may send them to hospitals - I make not profit from this" posts.

Of course, we mnMLM bot watchers know that the bots make CCs which are extremely valuable to them and mean they do not have to buy products themselves to make up the required sales per month in order to access promotions.

It is all very murky and dishonest and I am extremely sad that these two people who I like very much have become embroiled and are saying stuff in order to trick friends/relatives to spend a lot of money on crap.

ZaZathecat · 01/06/2020 13:19

Thanks golden. I feel sorry for the couple I know as they are young and naive. I don't know them well so won't be talking about it to them, but mutual friends who are older and probably should know better, are sharing their posts around to help them, when they'd be better off warning them.

Sforsh49 · 01/06/2020 13:32

Body Shop at Home launches in the US today. A VERY high up BSAH Bot lives in my village and can't wait to welcome her American Colleagues. She is so emosh about all the love she is receiving from her team right now because of May's mega sales.........

Duvetday8 · 01/06/2020 13:40

Nope no reference as to which one, she we very careful not to mention and referred to as her business. Pockets of time made me think of forever living though! She clearly was reading a script in the message and it sounded so false

Norma27 · 01/06/2020 15:06

And broke is homeless again.
How he believes people envy his life is astounding.b

UnapologeticallyUnhinged · 01/06/2020 15:54

Check out the first reply on that post. He'll be in the coach back to Stoke in 3...2...1....

Norma27 · 01/06/2020 16:00

Is that stokebot then?
Why do these women reply to his posts? It is so bizarre.

UnapologeticallyUnhinged · 01/06/2020 16:26

Dunno. But it's a woman in Stoke who says your know where I am' with kisses.

CompleteBarstool · 01/06/2020 16:28

I don't think that's Stokebot, I seem to remember her being a bit older.

Mind you those threads were a long time ago so I may be wrong.

Jonsey32 · 01/06/2020 17:15

I sat on the fence for such a long time with Broke- and on the one occasion he got a proper job I was sort of willing him on. Needless to say it lasted under a week.
I don’t know why he doesn’t wake up and smell the coffee? His life is clearly a mess and he stumbles from one disaster to the next. He never has the money to sort himself out in a crisis and has to put shout outs out in order to just be able to stay somewhere for the night.
Why doesn’t he give up the MLMs- he’d be better off and more stable if he got a full time job even if it was minimum wage.
He really doesn’t seem to see that MLM has got him nowhere in all these years and has offered him no stability.

It’s sort of like gambling I think - always thinks the big win is just around the corner.
He professes to love his kids so if he can’t do it for himself , he needs to do it for them.
Can’t work out if he’s a victim of a predator either.
He can’t even fake it til he makes it as each disaster has to be plastered all over Facebook.

fitgirl26 · 01/06/2020 18:16

The Stokebot that lured Broke in with her redundancy money has quite an unusual name. She was once bezzie mates with Salon and they were both deep into Traffic Monsoon and LTW. She came to my attention when she posted on a Botwatch thread boasting about how much money she'd made from Traffic Monsoon.
She's done the rounds of the coffee MLMs - I remember a hysterical "the truth" live she did when she left one of them complete with crocodile tears.

She's currently with FM.

Norma27 · 01/06/2020 20:23

Yawn asking 'how would £100k per year change your life?'
As if any of them will earn £10k per year.

What a horrible bitch making believe this is possible. Noone in forever shite UK is earning that now except got manbot and bloodsucker. Possibly Uber but doubt it as she didn't even qualify for a decent cheque.

Shhhhh223 · 01/06/2020 20:47

Who is the one that has started a new mlm that Broke is in on? Does she have a nickname or is she a new one?

Yawn needs to be careful making claims like that

Spongebobette · 01/06/2020 21:08

Yawn does that a lot. What would you do with an extra £1000 a month?
She gets her underlings to talk about what they’d specifically do with the money which makes it seem real to them

Norma27 · 01/06/2020 21:15

She does it a lot but has really upped the amount now to £100k per year.

Shhhhh223 · 01/06/2020 21:18

Must be desperate to get those new recruits signed up

Shhhhh223 · 01/06/2020 21:27

Any clues on salon? I’ve never been able to work out who she is

Spongebobette · 01/06/2020 22:11

Nurse has had 776% growth in 3 months. Apparently.
No actual figures provided

CodenameVillanelle · 01/06/2020 22:18

That means she was making absolutely fuck all before.

HailHydra · 01/06/2020 23:11

Just had a member of a niche clothing group removed as they sneakily tried to promote their magic potions. Ahh, a good result.

lostinlego · 02/06/2020 09:07

I see yawn has amazing maths skills on her story, apparently working 5hrs a week in May and making £210 profit for the month equals £42 an hour, I think she has forgotten their is more than 1 week in a month! Less than £10 an hour doesn't look as good especially as they are probably working more than they think and spending lots of any profit so in reality make less than minimum wage, and this is one of her success stories!
