Continued chat exposing things such as the lies peddled and the bankruptcies hidden from view.

For those interested, the Lifetime channel is airing a documentary series called Cults & Extreme Belief. I have seen two episodes so far (FLDS, aired yesterday, and Twelve Tribes, aired last week). This coming Sunday is the first part of The Survivors Speak. So far it has been very interesting to see the similarities to MLM brainwashing. The way that active FLDS members still view Warren Jeffs as a prophet rather than a paedophile is remarkably similar to how Young Living customers view their late leader Gary Young.

In other news: I'm thinking about starting a tinfoil MLM as there seems to be a rather strong market amongst huns.

Good video again from the Anti- Bot about the nonsense Derbybot has got herself involved with, alongside a load of old Valentus Huns.

Uber is wheeling out the wedding photos again. Enough!

Yawn gets paid from 42 countries

Ah, bless her! 😂

CompleteBarstool · 26/05/2020 09:29

Does Yawn really think that everything revolves around her? That she's some sort of guru that everyone looks up to?

Eg. She paints her gates and thinks that this action inspires the masses:
Have I inspired anyone to upcycle or do home decor?

It's not like the entire fucking country is currently doing my various DIY and decorating tasks!!!

RogueApostrophe · 26/05/2020 12:55

Yawn's team of Independent Business Owners are surprised when they see less than £20 trickle into their bank from Forever outside of the monthly payday. If you really ran your own business you'd surely be on top of exactly how much money was due to you from sales you'd made and the exact dates when that would hit your bank account

Norma27 · 26/05/2020 14:04

They are all fishing for more victims now by asking who has been furloughed/made redundant etc.
Vultures.

Botbrigade · 26/05/2020 14:36

They are total sharks.

fromdownwest · 26/05/2020 16:22

Absolute scum bags, preying on desperate people to advance their sham of a business. All this knowing full well 99.99% of the people who reply will lose money.

How this predatory business full of absolute scum is not massively regulated / banned is beyond me.

It’s beyond me too @fromdownwest until I think about where one goes to highlight or complain about this scam (and it is a scam given the % of losers in the system). The reality is that there is nowhere really that regulates any of the markers of MLM. If a Nigerian Prince offers us money in exchange for our bank details, if a man offers to tarmac our drive for cash, if someone calls us telling us they’re from our bank and could they have our passwords; all of those scams have a way of reporting them as they are single events and there are organisations like ScamAware specifically set up for that kind of problem. They’re clear, there’s a fraudster and a victim. MLM is a slow burn scam, carried out by other victims over time, using a longer term manipulation so the victim takes responsibility for their own downfall and sells on the scam to another victim. All this carried out under the cover of private FB groups, Zoom calls, unbroadcast conventions etc etc and all “legal” on the face of it. The problem of this slow burning scam is that if no one is watching over time they don’t connect up the problems, don’t see the discrepancies and notice the day to day lies.

Someone asked me the other day where they should complain about a particular MLM lie and I realised I couldn’t answer. There’s no one-stop-shop. During lockdown there have been so many scams highlighted (as they should be) but no one is really putting MLM product lies and more importantly income lies on the list with the other scams.

I know there have been close downs like Valentus, because of a particular product but it doesn’t really address what’s really going on. What we really need is a legislation change (update) but no one seems to want to take it up and as all the victims are “willing participants” it doesn’t look like enough of a problem from the outside. Frustrating isn’t it?

YouokHun · 26/05/2020 17:03

I also think that as the scam has mainly female victims who are, generally speaking, coming from traditionally ignored socio-economic groups, no one is interested.

Spongebobette · 26/05/2020 17:16

Also, not many complaints from victims as they tend to slink away, injured and ashamed when they fail

Sforsh49 · 26/05/2020 19:23

Thanks for the advice Yawn, but I love my dog and I don't want to give him bad guts, instead I'll give his eleven year old arthritic bones supplements that have been developed specifically for animals, scientifically tested for animals and recommended by his Veterinary Surgeon, who trained at university for five years to be qualified to give me advice about what's best for his welfare. I won't be giving him Aloe recommended by a charlatan like you with absolutely no formal training in animal care!

Twentytwentyhindsight · 26/05/2020 19:58

That is as brilliant and succinct as I've ever seen it put @YouokHun

Mumbliboo · 26/05/2020 20:01

Hi, I read these threads A LOT a couple of years back when I was getting out of MLM myself, but haven't kept up with them over the last couple of years. Today I saw a friend's daughter post advertising Valentus coffee and juice. I thought they had bitten the dust a few years back?

Jonsey32 · 26/05/2020 20:11

Mumbliboo
Sadly not. I don’t really know how they managed to survive after all the sagas but they did!

Mumbliboo · 26/05/2020 20:17

Are they still as dodgy as ever? I found a few articles online about illegal product content etc, and some stuff from a few years ago from when the a big name was visited by trading standards, but nothing saying they are illegal in UK. I've warned her off (via her mum) so hopefully she's safe from their clutches. She's only 15 Confused

acatcalledjohn · 26/05/2020 20:43

As per usual Yawn's FB stories voting buttons are missing the FOTTFSOF option.

I would suggest taking a peek at the developing story on The MLM Police - antimlm fb page.

Seems Derek and Melanie are allegedly facing ex-communication from the Mormon Church.

Are the leaders of the church finally taking action against the negative publicity that has been coming their way for quite some time now.

9dartfinish2nd · 26/05/2020 21:33

For those who don't know, Derek and Melanie are the brother and sister who own Younique.

There is a certain irony in a cult condemning another cult.
